What franchise would you like to see make a comeback? By the way, if you watch any section of this video, definitely make sure you watch the part at 8:48 onward. That's the section that moved me the most personally.
@@EZHNO I'm not sure if I've heard of OpenGoal before, I'm assuming it's some sort of open source software? I think Sly is an ideal candidate too -- the recent ports to PS5 got people really excited, and I think he's just a cool character that still has a lot to explore and play around with. I still can't believe how good that game looks -- the footage I captured personally for this video was from the PS3 Sly Collection.
@@humblemudgames Yeah its an open source software that decompiled the code of the games. Currently Jak 1 & 2 are fully playable and Jak 3 is still being worked on. There are also player made mods which are cool too.
@@rvfiascoI think Chrono Trigger was such a dream team, once-in-a-lifetime type deal. Unfortunately, I agree it might never happen. Making a proper Symphony or Chrono sequel would put a very large amount of pressure on whoever is working on that project, too. Those games are considered so close to perfection, a sequel would have big shoes to fill. I've heard great things about Chrono Cross, even if it doesn't quite hit the heights of Trigger, though.
I hope Sony knows what they had when Astro Bot was cooking, and has some franchises to give love to soon! I feel like Crash would be a great one in particular, but only time will tell.
I hope they do too. I heard in an interview recently that they literally believed Concord was Sony's future though, so it's hard to stay optimistic sometimes.
Honestly, I always associated Nintendo with their games and Sony with their consoles. Honestly didn't know they had Jak & Dayter and Spyro till now. And everyone knows Mario is Nitendo. Kinda interesting.
That's interesting! Well, Sony doesn't own Spyro or Jak, but those mascot characters were quite synonymous with the PS1 and PS2 respectively and their games were exclusive to PlayStation consoles. When PlayStation All-Stars came out, it received a lot of backlash for not including Crash and Spyro in particular. And that's kind of what I'm trying to get at with this video -- many of the IPs closely associated with Sony, Sony never owned or took partial ownership of or tried to be as chummy as possible with the companies who owned said IPs, and so many of them eventually went the multiplat route. Now that's a big oversimplification of things and it's at least a little bit of a different case for every franchise, but this is the way I think a lot of people feel, especially if they grew up with each console. So while all the cameos in Astro Bot are incredibly cool and make me smile, they also make me think of what could have been & makes me miss those franchises. At least, those are my thoughts. Thank you for watching!
@@GameTimeWhy I do too. They were *this close* to putting Dart from Legend of Dragoon in that game, and as you probably gathered from my video, I'm a big fan of that character. They had the model done and everything. But the game didn't perform like they wanted so they scrapped everything. I think PlayStation All Stars 2 could've been a really sick game that could've fixed any issues people had with the first, and bring in an expanded roster.
@@humblemudgames have you ever covered legend of legaia? That was my first game i ever purchased with my own money. Had a huge crush on green hair girl Mai haha
Watching the mixed footage of Astro Playroom & Astro Bot brings up a thought to me. You can easily see the iteration between both games & that's a good thing. In today's 5-8 year dev cycles there needs to be more small games that allow studios to iterate & learn lessons to make better sequels. Here's hoping we get an Astro Bot 2 or even some of the franchises playstation has forgotten about other than cameo roles to be reimagined in a modern light. The Uncharted level is a perfect blueprint for Capcom to run with to make a 3D megaman game, so much so that I've considered trying to do something myself using the limited game dev knowledge I have from being a hobbyist for over a decade.

Sly Cooper. Another Jak game could be cool too, but honestly I'm just glad that they are on PC now with OpenGoal.

Sly Cooper was great. Honestly I would love to see another Chrono game but that's probably never gonna happen. Same with Symphony of the Night.

Space Cadet pinball is such a banger
It really really was. Simple and to the point but it replicates that pinball experience well!

Bro I’m LOVING Astro
It's such a good game!
I just realized you’re already at 2k subs! That’s crazy man I love that your channel is getting its proper attention.
It happened very quickly since my Gauntlet and Eve of Calamity videos popped off! Very humbled and thankful.

oh my God a 3D Mega Man game based on that framework would be so sick, you're absolutely correct.
2:31 I had a rough day and this made me die of laughter thanks for bringing that joy and nostalgia of SpongeBob back to me lol
I want more infamous, sky cooper and crash but Im worried they’ll mess it up like they already have at the latest releases
I'm worried too :/
I’d love for Sony to bring more Sly Cooper! If it’s good though lol
Yes, Sly is such a classic! but it's gotta be done well
all I want is a dragoon sequel please Sony!!!
A sequel, prequel, remake -- anything guys 🙏😭
Please please please just drop LittleBigPlanet 4 :'(
YES. I mean Sackboy's Big Adventure is a thing, but I've heard people say that while it's good, it's not the same.
Isn't Astro Bot just the successor to LittleBigPlanet?
Eh, I think LBP fans, especially ones of 1-3, wouldn't really agree with that.
