  • In this video I walk you though installing the 2 inch Rough Country spring lift on this 5th Gen Toyota 4Runner. The kit consits of a new struts on the front and springs and shocks on the rear. We added a Ready Lift diff spacer to the build to help bring the cv axels into a better angle/geometry. This helps releave stress on the cv joint which in keep the cv axels and diff bearings from wearing out prematurely. If you have any questions post them in the comments down below.

    Good vid, when installing on a 4th gen the lower control arm didn't hang like that, in fact it was a bear to push down to get the strut in place.

    Greetings, I already installed them in a 2w SR5, they were perfect, very even and the vehicle looks good, level, only I need more weight in the front part, even rough country technicians had recommended it to me, like a bumper and a winch to add weight, so if it remains 100 percent in operation, when I install it I will tell you what the experience is like

      This will work on a 4 runner, Tacoma, FJ . SKU 47-5004 is the part number they are currently showing out of stock. You can find this kit from other distributors online.

    Nice vid! What's the torque specs on that lower control arm bolt? Seeing a lot of different specs online.

      Here is a cool website that has a bunch of torque specs for most of the bolt on the 4Runner. The lower ball joint bolts are torqued to 118 ft/lbs.

    Great video. For a variety of health and age reasons, I don’t have the ability to do this myself. How much would this install cost if I took my 4runner to a local 4x4 shop?

    Have I heard you call this a leveling kit?

    • @XtremeTruckAuto
      @XtremeTruckAuto  Рік тому

      A level kit is when only the front gets lifted to match the back. This is a 2 inch lift. So, both front and rear get lifted 2 inches.

    Greetings, your 4 runner is 2w or 4w, I have a 2019 runner but 2 w, in many places they say that this suspension 76631 from rought country can be installed, but others not that only 4x4, the issue is confusing, only the explanation they give is for him weight of the engine, there are also others who think that with a bumper on a 2w they would work perfectly due to the weight it adds to the front. Good update, there are always negative comments about rough country but they lack specific foundations, the only thing they talk about is It's cheap and it doesn't work well, but there are no reasons to explain how bad it could be. For me, all those critical comments without proof of its operation are lacking. Regards..

      The customers 4 Runner was 4wd. I'm guessing the reason why RC says it won't work with the 2wd is due to it being lighter without the front diff, and transfer case, and associated parts. This causes the 2wd to have a different spring/spring rate than the 4wd. So, putting the RC lifted strut on a 2wd will cause it to lift too high in the front making it sit noes high and also it would change the way it would ride. SO adding a bumper and a winch could help with that problem. Before you go and buy them I would do a bit more searching on the internet. I will be honest rough country got a bad name from the past and they have stepped up their game. They are a good budget lift company. I have installed 100s of their kits with zero issues or at least no more than any other big name lift company. I have their 4 inch long arm kit on my jeep. And I am currently working on an update video on that. Thanks watching and for the comment.
