Now retired in Thailand, wealthy having the shop to build one the problem is getting a kit and then a permit to drive it in Thailand.

Well it's not really a replica if we go by Craig lieberman's definition... see it doesn't have the same proportions so it's a visual homage or a tribute car. If anything it looks like a Chaparal with that back end.
My older brother had a very similar replica kit car like this back in the early 70s. Even mounted an engine from a VW bus onto the back of the chassis. We had all three main components mounted & it ran for a while, but we never got it to Street legal.

I’ve put fuel into an authentic GT40 race car that was street licensed. There was a large screw-off fuel cap on the rear deck. About 14 inches behind the driver’s head. A piece of carpet with a round cut-out is placed around the fuel inlet to protect the paint finish.
You do know vw engines (atleast from beetle) are one of the most reliable engines and very easy to repair right? They were used for a ton of things back in the just like nissan and honda engines today. Maybe think before you write bullshit @@macfig6017

93 is all I can get here in NC, BUT, I do have several places near me (mid state) I can get ethanol- free fuel. And I live near RDU International, so I can go over to Gen-Av, and get Aviation fuel😂
