0:00 Intro.
0:05 The shop is not sure why the owner thought any repairs would be free.
0:18 Another good reason why a pre-purchase inspection is important, no matter who you buy the vehicle from.
0:30 Same as clip before.
0:41 The passenger rear control arm was broken in half and held together with bolts that were welded in the u-channel of the control arm.
1:00 The technician thinks the customer had the mirror under the frunk for car shows.
1:10 Vehicle failed inspection once again, and hasn't been back since.
1:26 The customer just wanted the recall performed and a quote for a new wheel well liner.
1:37 The broken engine mount also caused damage to the front cover, and there was 2 bent wheels. All repairs declined.
1:50 A common issue we've seen on the channel is caused by a bedazzled ignition key ring.
2:04 New exhaust was installed.
2:26 The ABS issue was fixed and all other repairs were declined.
2:33 The technician filmed this 2 years ago, and said it was back in his shop (April 2024) and the other engine mount was broken.
2:43 It looks like the customer was trying to find somebody to blame for "damaging" the oil pan when it was done by the customer all along.
2:56 No extra info.
3:05 Outro. Thanks for watching! - Авто та транспорт

But that car was being pulled/towed away =\
@@Batmann_ The broken down car was being pushed away by the smaller White car.

This is one of multiple reasons I refuse to fix vehicles as a full or even part-time job
Technician states: "If repairs were free, we wouldn't be in business."
I find it outrageous they have the means to repair her vehicle but are refusing to so without payment. Is money all businesses care about? 😂

1:17 No, what he said was: he had it welded by a professional . Unfortunately accountants are not known for their welding skills.
Good one!
True story: I'm a parts guy at a sales and repair place. I can do an OK job welding some things like a mower deck. My good friend Dave is an accountant "professional", but he can't weld at all! Dave, therefore, is NOT known for his welding skills!
Convo with welder:
Welder: I can make a temporary fix
Owner: its fixed!
Welder: no, this is temporary at best
Owner: that's the most amazing job at welding i've ever seen
Honestly, I do wonder what the hell some of these people are thinking when they are clearly told what the problem is, how to fix it, and then just say "Nah, don't want it fixed."
And that first customer who thought the repairs would be free aaaaaarrrgh
Her name is Karen. She'd like to see the manager, please.
It's like that 1st costumer has learned about life from some game like Need For Speed Underground (2012) that you just pass through a gas station and for free your car is repaired and a new paint job is included.
If I wasn't used to the incredible lack of brain capacity of people in general, I would think that's fake and staged. But sadly, I'm already battle scarred from all this.
iv had to decline repairs in the past being short on money sucks man but i did address the issues later just didnt drive it till i had money to buy new parts the problem is those who decline repairs and then keep driving then wonder why their wheel fell off lol

You’d be surprised how many people that ~can~ afford to maintain their vehicle either don’t think to do anything until something notable happens (which by then may have caused other issues elsewhere) or have it in their mind that the older the car, the cheaper the repair will be… as if parts and labor are scaled to the age of the vehicle
“What do you mean $500 for a new water pump and alternator? I only paid $2,000 for the whole car… I figured it would be like $100 tops”
They are also surprised when most tire places *don’t* sell used tires and that new ones can range from $75 - $250+ per tire depending on a lot of variables… and that they’ve never heard of the brand that’s only $75 each and wonder why the Bridgestones aren’t that price as well
"but I can pay you in exposure"
@@spencercorby4571 Refusing to get repairs done and thinking repairs will be free are very different things.
I live in Finland and feel the incredible rust damage in some cars on the video just unbelievable. In our country there's the first mandatory inspection when car is 4 years old and after that every second year. After the car is 10 over years old, every year. Those cars would have been rejected long time before that kind of damage would have become.
In defense of Americans, we aren't all violent anarchists. The state where I live has annual safety inspections similar to what you describe. With all the salt and rust here, we need it.
@oh2mp, we pour salt on our roads every winter like there's no tomorrow. Because we have to drive 80mph no matter how bad the weather.
In your area, people do the sensible thing and start early and use snow tires.
Some of our States here in the USA have a yearly safety inspection (Pennsylvania), and some (Ohio) do not.
I live in Wisconsin, we have no state safety inspections, rust like this is a common sight.
Come to Michigan...we don't have safety inspections. If it starts and drives you're good to go....and in some cities most people think insurance, registration, and a drivers license are optional.
Our friend Spray Foam pays another visit to us and does not disappoint!!

There needs to be a “customer states the car they just bought” compilation. I would recommend that to every person that tells me they’re buying a used car!
Yes, that would be valuable! I sold cars at a dealer twice in my life. I was astounded at how ignorant most used car buyers are. No wonder so many people get in high debt with a new car; they have no idea how to look over a used car. Here's a hint: TAKE A MECHANIC WITH YOU, then buy him dinner afterwards.
Some of these cars are rusted so bad I have to wonder how they managed to get it up on a lift without the car turning into an upside down taco.
Was thinking the same thing, but I would've thought it would be like picking up a soggy burrito by the middle!
0:30 STRUCTURAL CARPET !!! That's a thing! Very common in the northern Rust Belt.
We had that in a 67 Rustang back in the 80's. Our solution was to wrap a piece of board-like material in plastic and stick it under the carpet. Worked, I guess.
I used 3/4" plywood under the structural carpet. It worked pretty well.
Roommate in college had a Mustang II with structural carpet. There's a reason you don't see many Mustang IIs around anymore....
The smoke rolling out that car on the highway reminds me of something Jeremy Clarkson once said: "It looks like the West Indian dope smoking team is practicing in that car."
I was a welder for 50 yrs. I cannot believe that people call themselves "Professional Welders" This crap welding could get someone killed! Almost all of these[ welds?], are way too cold. Go to your local junior college and how to weld! I did.50 yrs ago, and remember, some welding is done by machine, hands on welding is still going to be in demand. And It pays well and there is always work.Even if the person that needs welding done does not know to weld, go online and look what good welds are supposed to look like before you approve the welding repair. Great video as always!, JRI.
Not only the crap welding, but that is 100% how not to fix a rusted frame
Fer sure. I served on committees of the American Welding Society and every time I see this stuff my skin crawls and I get nausea.

In the uk all of these vehicles are illegal and would be scrapped by law, the customer wouldn't be allowed 2 declined repair and drive away.
Yeah well that's because the UK isn't a rich second world country deluded into thinking it's a first world country
Actually the owner *can*. Garages in the UK cannot prevent an owner driving away in a failed vehicle, even if the failure is classified as dangerous. It specifically states this in the MOT tester's handbook, which can be read online. All the garage can do is advise you not to drive it, and inform police if you do - they cannot refuse to hand over the keys or otherwise prevent you driving your car away.
They would never get into that state in the first place, they would have been long gone to the scrappy.
Funny how it's okay to drive these cars in America, but you can get a ticket for not wearing your seatbelt. It's like saying you can sky drive without a parachute, but you need to wear a parachute harness
@@dunebasher1971 Thing is police are so diligent on following up that generally saying you'll have to inform the police if they drive away has the same effect.
1:48 speaker behind the engine is, wait, what? Why? Why is there a speaker behind the engine? WHY!?
Playing a recording of loud engine noises, would be my guess.
Ambient noise cancellation😏

A speaker behind the engine is wild, i think the owner plays a strong engine sound to convince he has a stonger motor
A car came to my shop with an electronic device that made a blowoff valve sound but it wasnt a boosted engine, and it did react to when you reved but the sound did not change pitch, exactly the same tone
At that point you might as well just remove the muffler.

The ONLY times you can expect free repairs are if
1: the problem is under warranty
2: a previous repair from the same shop failed or missed something relevant.
3: you are really good buddies with the mechanic.
Edit, example. I recently had my thermostat replaced and when I got from the shop to work my car was leaking coolant and steaming.
