I drooled over the Venturi as a kid playing Test Drive 6!!!
Man that car still looks gorgeous. Aged well
Glad to see someone remembers that game
even on gran turismo 2 (original playstation) looked great xD

Venturi 400 looks so beautiful to me..

and in GT 5/6. I learned a lot from that game :D
@Jeriah _Walcott i'm talking 1997
Me too
I remember that Vector M12 beating my ass on Gran Turismo 2 everyday.
Ohhh I member!
Gran tourismo 1 and 2 players know most of these cars well !
Yes we do. We helped put car culture where it was. Posers ruined it. And our shallow wallets.
@@kevincollins8620 my s14 is still in storage without a motor or gearbox. 😀
The Venturi 400 GT is so cool..
It was the french Supra. If I remember right, it was incredibly light while beeing powerful in the same time. But it was underrated and suffered from it's french reputation.

*I remember the launch of De Tomaso Guara. Oh, my God, I'm getting old!* 😱
4:55 what a badass sound, man!
For just a v8 that car is a beast
Its probably a hemi
Had Yamaha produced that car and raced it they would have easily had a shot at being the fastest brand 0-400kmh-0 today. The aerodynamics of the car were ahead of its time, and the engine was both incredibly well tuned given the available technology, and very powerful, light, and the RPMs were insane. It was nearly the 2021 Aston Martin Valkyrie back in 1994. Yamaha could be the absolute best in motorsports or at the very least pioneered new technology for other companies to imitate or buy directly.
Cizeta V16 and Vector W8 are my favorite "forgotten" cars
The Venturi looks looks like a CRX F40 hybrid.
Just what I came looking for in the comments.
I like it
Classic france copy italy
I had the F40 and Toyota MR2 in mind.
It is...its a fake car somebody fabbed
The reason a lot of these look super dated even for a 90's car is because many of them are actually 80's cars that didn't make it to market until the early 90's due to delays/funding (it's similar to how the DeLorean is considered stereotypical 80's despite being a design from the 70's).
Crap
Main reason why so many supercar sales failed in 1990's is because one factor, these cars were launched in a recession.
Vector
Callaway still exists and were always based on Corvettes. Even today in 2019, you can buy the latest Z06 and have the Callaway AeroWagen package for a total of around USD$144,000.
The M8 wasn't a supercar, but a GT meant to compete with Ferrari 456.
Also the "m8" we see driving is a 850i.
You wot m8
😂
It is a supercar remember same engine in
mclaren f1.
Glad someone said it. There was no m8. That's aftermarket badge. I know a guy in south Carolina where I from who has a grey one. Nice car still by the way
@@wernermuller98561. The engine isn't what makes a supercar, it's the engine layout.
2. It's not the same engine as the Mclaren F1. The M8 uses the S70/1, and the F1 uses the S70/2 Which is a entirely new design, so not the same engine.
Rob: Yeah they are lovely cars, i drove a green 850CSI i a couple of years ago, and it was awesome(Though i couldn't really exploit it properly, given it was a dealer car).

I enjoyed this stroll down memory lane! I remember seeing these cars in the Dupont Registry, Car & Driver, Road & Track and Motor Trend as a young enthusiast! Gr8 video!
OLD IS GOLD
NATURALLY ASPIRATED 418 HP, good job bmw
Actually on video it's version with S70/2 engine. It has 618 horse power. Typo in titres.
actually, the prototype m8 (and they only build that one prototype, all other "M8" are fake 850s or 840s) has 400 kW, that's about 544 HP
418 HP from naturally aspirated V12 is nothing special even for that time.
Elian Tonietti when the 850i first came out, that 5 liter V12 was only making 296 hp
I always liked that Venturi.
DrBIeed + Me too, have a nice day :)
Those 90's cars are much more appealing to me, than any other era.
That Callaway Corvette car was crazy. I like the Venturi and the BMW engine
I remind the Venturi 400 GT From the game Test Drive 6. It was a lovely car.
the venturi 400 gt is basically a knockoff ferrari F40
It was also in Gran Turismo 2.
Venturi is a beautiful car and looks like one of the most practical of the bunch. But Iso Grifo is new to me and looks fantastically impressive even by today's standards.
I'm literally in love with that Venturi - she has everything a beauty should have !
90s era had produced the coolest sport cars
The venturi is such a gorgeous widebody f40 😍😍😍😍😍
Callaway is a mixture of Aston Martin, Koenigsegg and a Corvette, lol.
It's literally a vette with slight changes, which made it uglier.
Joel C That’s What I had in mind, especially the corvette in it . lol 😂
making a corvette uglier some said it couldn't be done Callaway came through on their promise
As soon as I saw the roof and the rear design def 😂
Now we know where they get the headlights of the rapid gt in gtav
Some absolute gems!
Some awesome cars in this clip 👍
That venturi tho 🤤
There's no M8, its a 850 CSI. BTW, great video.
No,Its M8 but prototyle,850 CSi dont have 418Hp. i thing it have 5.6 V12 381Hp.
Tony Valdez it not the m8. Its just a badged 850csi.... Bmw only made 1 m8 which is stored and has 550hp
@@YusufJoeKaroliaIMaybe this one is real one?
Tony Valdez the real one didn't even have a M8 badge on it and neither did it have pop up headlights

Pop up headlights should make a comeback
Illegal 2 produce in us now
@@matthewbieker3208 that's cause America is stupid and no one is allowed to do nice things
@@prestigeworldwide1138 "pop-down" headlights are not illegal tho ;)
@@matthewbieker3208 It's not illegal to produce them. What’s changed in the last decade have been European design laws requiring the front end of cars to be more readily deformable-a move intended to protect pedestrians in case of a crash. The European design laws made it harder to produce them because they wanted better protection for pedestrians with front end design and since the US manufacturers have a stake in Europe they followed suit. Making two designs for two different markets is fiscally unviable.

Venturi looks great. Love the fact that the passenger could simply replace your headlight relay, or maybe your blinker fuse while you are driving along.
Definitely need to look into that Isdera Imperator a bit more.
WoW!Thats great car!
Doug Demuro should review these to show us all their quirks and features

Ah so awesome looking cars.
There was no BMW M8. The idea of M8 was being worked on, but didn't make to production. The most powerful model of 8-series was the 850CSi.
It exists but was never sold. Prototype only www.bmwblog.com/2017/05/22/original-bmw-m8-prototype-remarkable-thing/ Shown is a private replica
Remind me of gran turismo 2
Love the Vectors! I remember a news story about it back in the day the W8 prototype melted grills while testing in LA.
Fantastic the best video 👏👍👊
Gianfranco Piralli + Thank you Franco! Have a nice day :)
No one is gonna mention that there never was a official E31 M8?
There was only one... Interior w/ lots of carbon fiber, alcantara, but it was going to be more expensive than a ferrari, so they decided to abandon the project
Filipe Guariente Ironic considering that a decent 3 series w/ a proper straight 6 costs 50k nowadays
dMNY 307 do you mind? That’s a quite rude remark from you right there. What is that you find wrong about it? I reckon you should at least contribute to this conversation rather than jabbering about someone else’s profile.
gran turismo 2!! i still play once in a while on the epsx emu hahaha
Wow, I like it...next
One more Isdera you could have added to the video, and that is the commendatorre. Great video.

the venturi 400 has always been one of my favourite cars ever, it looks riced from the factory, not to mention it sounds like a beast!
If you mention the Isdera Imperator 108i, you forgot the Isdera Commendatore 112i!
smartsouler need for speed 😎
I can find just a single Venturi 400 GT for sale. It's in France and it is $186,000 USD.
please send me link
The average selling price of a nice venturi 400 GT is around 260.000€ (296.000$), i bet it will stay a dream for most of us...
This was a great video.
Orange Man Bad NPC + Thank you :) We appreciate it
I hope this video reaches a mill so people know what brought us to todays supercars, and not forget our past! This was a great video!

The Callaway super speedster lm looks like a königsegg agera (back and roof)
Looks like a modded vette to me.
Needforspeed 2 special edition.
Venturi is really cool!
So many cool and unique cars here
the m8 was never produced, it's a modified 8 series (with a v12) ;)
Jed Alaoui bmw built that car as a prototype. As far as i know.
When sound was real sound and no speakers in the exhaust
Never heard of the DeTomaso Guara until now. Looks neat
That 1994 Yamaha OX99 is gorgeous!
**BUY A VESPA AND WAIT**
Wanting is sometimes better than the having. If you save up for a Vespa, drive that around awhile, you can check out the exotic sports cars you see and dream about owning one.
"Someday I'll own a McLaren." Everyone will laugh. "I'll show them" you'd say.
"In the meantime I have this Vespa." you'd say.
Check out the motivation.

BMW M8 never existed! Instead the M GmbH built the 850 CSi
smartsouler to be fair, it does exist. But it was an prototype. Its still in the hands of BMW
uau i love this video
@the big racer Thank you :)
I'm not a BMW fan, but that sound... I love it!
That De Tomaso, only 286BHP from a 4.6L V8, dfaq? Are they fuelling it on lemonade?
Lame 2 Cam Mod Motor lol
the engine is from old ford mustang GT (2003).
The M8 looks like your standard coupe not a super sport car
its not an m8 car, it has an M Engine, and everything, but is not an official m car, only one real m8 exists as a prototype
Thank you for video! People like super cars, must now all best olds racing, sport cars. This is not everything, about this cars, from 80',90', but Great!
Omg, so many memories playing with some of these cars in old games... really wish forza could grab licenses for cars like this and add them to their games.
I was expecting to see lister storm and cizetta v16 mentioned, i didn't see those but i got to remember some old favourites. You should continue to make videos like this, there are plenty of cars that missed this list and this is certainly one of the best eras in the industry. I dislike the looks of most new cars nowadays, they all look too futuristic or complex and yet identical to each other.
This is one of those moments youtube recommended a decent video. I'm sticking around, since i like cars and i see that a good focus of this channel is based in oldies or the unknown/forgotten.
5.7 litera for only 418 hourse 😂😂😂😂😂 sounds like the 90s thats for sure
Thats actually alot better than most cars of that time so no
that's actually pretty good for the 90's. C5 corvette only got 345hp from his 5.7 and the bmw 850csi with a 6.0 V12 got 360hp
There officially was no M version of that 8 series and the prototype did not look like that at all
I was thinking the same, and the dodgy chopped / bodged badge just confirmed it for me.
That isn't correct, there was an M version that was supposed to go on sale, but it was cancelled due to several reasons such as sinking sales of sportscars at that time. The video doesn't show an M8 indeed but there is one real M8 in existence and in the hands of the BMW Group Classic and BMW M and it is rarely seen, but you will find video and photo material if you search for it (but since there is now a new M8 it might be hard to find).
Tobias K There are videos and photos of a PROTOTYPE u fucking idiot! A one off prototype hardly qualifies as an official car and the long standing industry standard is a car is not “official” until it is sold to the public. That’s why the original M3 and many other vehicles designed to race were required to be sold to the public. If we go by your dented-skull ass logic there would be a list of “super cars” 2 miles long as manufacturers are ALWAYS toying with various ideas and prototypes.
Cool Breeze you’re probably right. 😞
cool car design peaked in the 90s
These are the cars you would find on that stand up racing game in the mid 90 to early 2000's little food places.. double stop the gas to do a wheelie an shoot flames lol.. gotta love
Ford Gt90 and Ford Indigo
PROTOTYPES NEVER SOLD
