I’ve been on a dedicated contract for the last year and a half. Last year I put in 150K miles and grossed 450K. This year so far I’ve grossed 141K. VERY BLESSED AND HUMBLE FOR IT!!! Keep grinding, it’s out there!!!
One more thing, all of this is Midwest only! Deliver the load and deadhead back. Paid for deadhead. If I reload, it’s something the customer needs brought back to them.
Brotha, I just started watching you again and that comment about blood pressure has got me tuned in. I struggle with bp also. Glad to be back and keep dropping those great insights that other folks don’t talk about.
In Slavic trucking there is such a thing as super solo... On Viber community I saw someone posting a load thst needs to go to Oregon from Arizona. And they been looking for team or super solo.
Sammy, so far this year all my drivers are doing pretty good. My dispatcher is telling me he is seeing a lot of slowdowns in freight out there on the open market.
How do you determine how to pay your dispatcher? I plan on hiring some one in the future and wanted some real feed back from someone that's actually doing it? Also if you have any good dispatchers you could recommend, it'll be greatly appreciated. Thanks God Bless 🙏🏻
@@MrDmacc1 -- I pay my dispatcher a base salary of $70k a year. He's a good man and a go getter. I have him doing other duties as well at times when he is not actively doing dispatcher work.
where is the hot market? you are making me feel stupid, either you are a genius or we all stupid, rates are low every where you go, my normal route use to be texas to nyc use to do it for 5800$ now 3300$ but there is always someone like you who still getting great loads, you are smarter than the rest, good for you
Freight sucks... oversize is paying what regular freight should be paying!!!! I got out before it took everything from me. I now work as a mechanic working on rock crushers!!!

Let me tell you brother last week sucked. After all expenses I took home just about $450.00. the week before I took home just over 3k . Not sure how much longer I can last if this keeps up.
Times get tough you got to get tough with the times sounds like eating a smoother down tree rat 🐀 My advice is sink or swim and I don’t know how to swim but I refuse to drown so I stay in the shallow water 💦
@hurshelfrasure9859 shingles, steel, masonry, and decking are my go to in Ohio. Having to deadhead more than I like but I'm staying busy. I try to set my week up in advance through a handful of the same brokers I've been working for years. Get the load lists on friday/Monday before they have a chance to hit the load boards and preplan what I can. Its not as easy as it was 3 years ago, that's for sure

Lol. The market is watching you watching the market. Lol. Check and Checkmate.
How do you identify hot markets? Do we look at the back haul first before booking front haul?
Yes, and Volumes. Load volumes.
Not the Backhaul per se, but the loads going out of that market.
