    This is grreat guys, I been really feeling it this week in my back and abs. I was really surprised how hard I found lifting it up in front of me and it got my heart pumping, and I realised I was really working my core muscles. I never realised I could. Been in the chair 18 years.... I guess you live and learn. Cheers.

    trying my best to do these with my limited range of motion is a real workout! i'm pretty severely disabled and if anything i want to be doing this for my mental health. losing weight, if i do at all, is just a bonus. i'm not able to use any traditional means of mental healthcare so i'm doing what i can.
    this is the first wheelchair workout i've found where the coach specifically says its ok to do it with whatever range of motion you have and not to push yourself. it's such a small thing but it really makes me feel comfortable if i can't do these big motions, such as lifting something above my head.

    I’m glad I found this on 44 years old with muscular dystrophy and part time in a wheelchair I can walk but with assistance of holding onto things due to falling and breaking my ankle in five spots and doing some major nerve damage and lost a lot of mobility and strength this exercise in a few others that I’ve watched in your videos will help me a lot and help me gain a lot of strength even though it’s been 10 Years in a chair this will help me

    I’ve been wheelchair bound for around a year,sadly the medications I’m on have made me put a LOT of weight on which is making me extremely depressed,this is exactly what I’ve been looking for,thank you guys ever so much,I’m absolutely stoked to try these exercises but I’m kinda worried because the reason I’m wheelchair bound is due to such a silly little fall,but it left me with chronic sciatica with impinged nerves and superior migration of the disc which has cause narrowing of my conus,plus scheuermanns disease,so I have immense agony in both the top and bottom to mid of my spine so I’m worried that I’d hurt myself doing these exercises,do you by any chance have a video that would suit my injuries but still help me to trim my size down especially on tummy,butt and thigh areas if possible please,if so please please reply with a link so I can check it out please.
    Also,please continue with these kinds of videos as you help so many people who would otherwise be overlooked and neglected in this respect so I think you guys are absolutely awesome,you most definitely have a new subscriber in me!
    May god bless yall

      I understand the feeling. I became paralyzed in 2011. I’m 6’2” and was 200lbs before the accident and 2 years later I was 300lbs. It was one of the hardest things to overcome. My depression stemmed from me thinking I wasn’t enough for a woman and my lack of understanding. I started reading up on my paralysis and started weight lifting. I’m down to 190lbs and My upper body is in a better shape than it was before the accident.
      The best thing I can suggest is do as much physical activities you can do, pushing yourself past the limits you think you have.

    i do believe high paras and quads have some stomach muscles as I have done some recents SCI studies, even found out i had some working pelvic floor muscles, Had I known this back in 1985 when i was injured i would of worked on this. It's not too late though, when i do try to work core muscles i also do some visualization, picture all the core muscles working, you should or could do this for all muscle groups, i do believe it helps. really am enjoying your workout videos during this pandemic thanks alot Ben

I have a kyphotic deformity (because I didn’t have fixation surgery following breaking my back, which in turn has meant that I’ve developed lordosis/anterior pelvic tilt, thins I’d like to keep my eye on/reverse if possible...but; I do have to be careful with my back. For reference I am in the region of T10 complete.

      No 2 disAbilities are truly alike.
      While I am able to do a lot, another with similar diagnosis & disAbility cannot, but don't call quits based off the cant's; focus on the "can". If it means sitting back in chair, with only 1 arm working, with or without weights, that's a first step, then other arm, soon you may be doing both arms, then scooting forward & so forth. The key is any activity, & looking for "how can we make this work". No success happens without try, & one
      shouldn't judge a person, or their abilities, by whether or not someone "looks" disAbled.

      Not everyone who uses a wheelchair is paralyzed, and there is no one specific picture of "paralysis" that everyone fits into. Even if these exercises don't work for you, they're helpful for a lot of other people, and it looks like there are plenty of videos with various exercises and workouts that would be feasible for someone with your level of injury.

    I need some help. I have been told to work out as much as you can. But I fear if I don't give myself a number of how times to do it in a day and hours, it's gonna be the whole I'll do it tomorrow shabang. How many times a day do you work out and for how long?

      Once a day 3 times a week. Monday Wednesday Friday. That's a great starting place

    • @AdaptToPerform
      @AdaptToPerform  5 років тому +3

      Ah I see! Well you can't target fat loss to a specific area just all.over. You'll have what is called quad/para belly. It's where your transverse abdominals are paralysed, they hold everything in but they can't now so it pushes out. Ill have a video on this in the near future to explain fully 👍

    I am a quadriplegic. Peace. I am looking for quadriplegic exercise for belly tone. I believe talking about diet is a good topic too. I like helping everyone too. Unable to do most things I can see how others can get physically fit if they are willing. I am a Christian too. It is like preaching and teaching. As I help others I try to practice it as well. I find it most difficult when the diet is not healthy. Life is not easy nor health. I can't wait till Jesus returns, but as I wait I work out to keep my vitals strong.

    • @AdaptToPerform
      @AdaptToPerform  6 місяців тому

      When you are doing the movements don't focus on moving the arms. Use your trunk to move and your arms come for the ride. It takes a little getting used to. This workout is mainly for people who have a very weak core, so those with more normal function might not feel the benefit. I will put out more advanced ones in the future

      So they do work the shoulders a little but try locking them still and only think about moving using your core muscles instead. It's easy to let your shoulders do the work 👍
