You only made $3,800 profit on this build!? At 250 labor hours it must SURELY be a labor of love and less about the profit. I admire your dedication and unwavering love for motorcycles, my friend. 🤘 You definitely earned and deserve this subscriber. Thanks so much for this video.
Like you said, labor of love. Hard to sell a bike like this for a high price when you're on the wrong side of the world. Thanks for joining the club 👍🏼
very good work! Respect! I have a question, which handles(brake lever, clutch and throttle) , min 16:00 in the viedo, do you use? did you find them at CafeRacerWebshop? I have a hard time looking for minimalist handles that are compatible with my motorcycle, be it with the brakes or with the throttle cable. Did you have to make any changes to the throttle cable?
Thanks man, appreciated. The brake, clutch lever & throttle grip are coming from motolab.nl. Don't know if they still sell them. Like you've mentioned it was hard finding something with minimalistic look to it, but yet functioning fine. I needed to shorten the throttle calbe with a new fitting, but that's no big deal
What an awesome build. Beautiful machine. I’m working on mine slowly. Did you have to make any changes to the carbs after you deleted the airbox? Besides the air filter pods.
Great bike and video! Congratulations! Working on a 1985 R80RT conversion. Do I need the dual coils/twin lead bobin 12V to charge my lithium battery in conjunction with the m-unit. Love the sound of your mufflers. What brand are they? Thanks for any info!
Thanks man, appreciated. You don't necessarily need it, but the bike definitely benefits from it. Fires up much quicker, also in combination with a new startermotor. The old stuff is pretty much overdue. In the link down below you find the mufflers
Thanks for the feedback, great to hear. I didn't dyno the bike after the rebuild, but since everything is (as good as) new I wouldn't aspect major differences with the initial specs of the engine. But since the lost a lot of weight it was quite noticeable with the overall handling.
What product / chemical did you use to clean the engine? I see you blasted the heads and cylinders but what treatment did you use for the engine block itself??😊
Just regular fuel. Make sure you work in a well ventilated area and wear the correct protection. Used Scotchbrite for the engine. There's a dedicated how-to video on the rebuild of a R engine on my channel. That goes into every little bit of the whole rebuild
Awesome build, great video. Normally there is lots I would change on a build, but with this I think everything is about perfect for what it is and it looks great. I'd have a slightly less angled seat and would run more on road based tyres, thats it. I think the tyres suit the style very well, but I'd gladly sacrifice a bit of style for nicer fell on the road. I'm really leaning towards doing an R100 bobber as my next build. Either that or another K100 or CX500. I can't imagine the R100s ride as well as the K100s? You've obviously tried several of both, how do you find the difference?
Thanks for the feedback, always nice to hear what other people think. To be honest I like the R's more than the K-bikes, that's for building and also riding the bike. The simplicity, looks of the bike and the low rpm torque makes the ride so much fun. With the weight loss they handle great, can really recommend a R build!
@@corner.custom Pleased to hear they ride well, was worried they wouldn't. I think I'll try and make my next build an R100 then. But I'll always have a longing to build another K. In a different style to my current one.
@@corner.custom Oh, its already decided, when you said they are decent to drive that was enough. R100 next, once my once in a lifetime dream car build is complete this year, until then, no funds. I'll do another K100 later on, it wouldn't be challenging enough now anyway, I know exactly what to do and how to do it and all the components. R100 is something new and unknown. I already have a CX500 in pieces but its on hold since it needs a new engine, or at least a new crank.
Thanks man, appreciated. Lots of effort with into making the video. It's hard to make a complete breakdown of the parts list and costs. You can look up the parts on the websites that I mentioned, and then you'll also find the prices
Good job , quality , etc… But j keep my original bike …! .. and with the 2024 new Control CTM in France … …( and bad ControlersBike ..!) Don’t touch or modify ..!
Bit expensive built, should be doable for half the price i'd say, especially taking in account you start with a 4600 euro bike, that you fully disassemble, even engine wise. anyway, could have gone for a scrapyard one! Good video though, bit quiet, but high quality non the less.
The cost of the donor was pretty steep, but unfortunately the airheads became pretty pricey. You could cut down the costs, but that would have consequences for the quality of the parts. I'm using a new edit program and new music, so getting used to that. Thanks for the feedback
Problem isn't so much the selling part, but I'm based in The Netherlands and all my builds went abroad, mostly to the US/Canada/UK so pretty intense arranging the shipping part
@@corner.custom Kom ook uit Nederland, haha.(hen Custom Paint als hobby, spuit veel voor particuliere verbouwers) That's why i figured it would be a hard sell, because the Netherlands and custom bikes are a hard sell, haha. But makes sense if you sell them outside the country. Shipping is a pricey part then, for sure!
@peterdocter4659 Ah kijk, klein wereldje weer. Heb een tijdje ook wel Cerakote werk gedaan voor andere bouwers, maar focus nu op mijn K12 project. Komt altijd nog wel bij kijken logistiek gezien om alles te regelen. Probeer deze motor te houden, probeer 😅
@corner.custom Ohh don't get me wrong it's a badass bike and it looks good with the knobby tyres, but I think it's more of a bobber. Each to their own I guess.
Only here to give this comment. Haven' t watched the video. This this is as dangrrous for the rider like a wood cut circular saw with a 600m unprotected blade. When the rider struggles ( what reason ever) and slides on the back wheel.this is firstly pulling his balls and then perhsps something more into the backwheel swing. Ouch. Changed live within 1 second forever only to look dumb without a fender. This is the dumbest custom made ive seen in last 12 to 18 month...
Any interest in a similar video on the last K100 build?
yes please 👍

For sure, you’re stuff is amazing! And my good buddy is rebuild a K75 right now so would help him 😅
Ok sounds great. You can already check out the other videos on my channel, there are already lots of K75/K100 content on it with multiple how-to's 👍🏼
Guten Tag ,
Kann man die auch kaufen ?

YOU PUT A LOT OF LOVE ON THIS BIKE.
Sure did ❤️🫶🏼

Hats off! Great work and details 🔥
Bedankt Doeke 😁👍🏼
Very nice. Makes me miss my 1974 90/6.
Got to love the airheads. Kinda miss this bike too, rode so well 👌🏼
Very nice detailed video, appreciate all the efforts.
Thanks man, great to hear 👏🏻
Absolutely amazing. You should be very proud
Just a little bit 👍🏼
Absolute class act!
Thanks 👏🏻👍🏼
this is very beautiful to watch, thank you for your time & thank you for sharing this :)
Thanks for the nice comment. I've started a new R100 build though, first video is on my channel
Fantastic breakdown and great video once again. My build is pinging around 15.000$ with a purchase price also of around 5000$.
Thanks man, great to hear 👍🏼 Yes these bikes ain't cheap to (re)build anymore. But then again, quality does come at a cost
neat great work i recall the saying of juan Miro '' "The works must be conceived with fire in the

That was a massive amount of work. I couldn't do that to my 76R90S.
It sure was! But we'll worth it imho. 90s are pretty rare 👌🏼
Amazing build quality, kudos
Thanks buddy 👌🏼🤙🏼
omg , that original paint was glorious .
Not entirely, unfortunately the seat had rubbed his way trough the paint. Would love to kept the grey smoke though!

You are a genius!
Thank you sir!
Hello! Bro can u tell us were did you buy the parts of the engine?
Regards, awesome proyect!🎉
The OEM engine parts came from De Hobbyist. Thanks buddy!
Hey, Mister, do you need a quick shift sensor?
This bike got sold a while ago, but I'm working on a new R100. What do you got 😁
Amazing effort
Thanks man 👊🏼👍🏼
Nice! One question, how long is the platform of the bike lift?
It can fit a regular bike just fine. With the ramp attached you can fit an even lager bike as well
@@corner.custom do you know the measurements?
@juanma1242 180x50 with ramp, 135x50 without

I really enjoy this video! Great work! I would like to ask after the restoration the horse power remains the same according to the initial specs?

420mm YSS shocks 👍🏼
Awesome work, and love to see the cost breakdown. So what do you do with these bikes when you’re done? Keep them? Auction them?
I sell all my builds via my IG page, Corner.Custom
Hi, great bike. What rear shocks did you use? And did u have to modify the swing arm at all? Thanks
Thanks man 👍🏼 Used 420mm YSS shocks, only modified the points on the frame, swing arm stayed like it was
Hi
Does the Lithium battery works well in a 1982 bike?
Lithium batteries are great, just make sure you'll get the right specs, high CCA!
@corner.custom Thank you.
If you find any information about the correct Lithium battery for a 600 Honda Transalp . 1991, let me know.
G
@guille2074 just according to the original spec. Everything above the OEM spec will be perfect
@@corner.custom Thank you very much.
@guille2074 you're welcome, good luck 👍🏼

Wait! wait! wait,... that garage is way too clean.
Haha well I gets messy when I start working, but trying to keep things organized
What’s the reg/rec for? Did you change the ignition, or is it still on contact points?
Reg/rec from Ricks motorsport. This bike had the "new" ignition, no points

It was for sale
Which fotpegs did you use?
It's a hybrid between the original footpeg mounting bracket with an aftermarket footrest

How heavy is the bike after the conversion?
Good question, never had a bike on a scale afterwards, but my best guess is at least 50kg lighter. Rides so well with the weight-loss
Isn‘t it a K75?
Almost, R100. Just like the title says 😉

A fundamental misunderstanding of what a scrambler is.

Rubbish. Looks like a Vespa now from behind. You ruined BM Ws best developed Sports Tourer to devalued junk. Hipsters should stick to bicycles.
