You have longer con rod's but the same stroke. You only get a longer stroke with a different crank and a longer throw. The longer con rod will change the rod to crank ratio hence the shorter pistons.
Wow! You definitely need to build a frame to handle all that! And brace the swing arm. So ausome!! Been a air head for many years. I even had R100 with Krauser heads. This excites me very much! Bravo!
The bike will get a full S1000RR front end & brakes, so big stopping power! Since it's one of the last R100's it has the bigger/beefier swingarm, time will tell how it will handle the power. Love the R's as well, have a plan for a future R build. Krauser heads are sick btw!
Alles strak en netjes nieuw of reviseerd, kwaliteit is goed man, en van de video ook, alles duidelijk en je laat zien wat je doet en gebruikt, Kijkt relaxt weg. Keep it up!
Personally I haven't had any issues with the Bings before, but someone already commented on switching over to other carbs for better response. I've seen a R build with EFI, could be something for the future 👌🏼
@@corner.custom I used to work on these sometimes, 45 yrs ago. Maybe the needles and seats are better now? But because of the angle of the carbs, especially when the bike is on its side stand, they used to flood. Riders were advised to turn off the taps when stopped. Other carbs did this too of course. When synced they always ran beautifully . . I just wondered if there was an efi upgrade? cheers.
@@ihateemael Maybe it already helps rebuilding the full carbs and yes I also always close the taps before I park the bike! Now I remember that I once saw a R100 TT with EFI. I'll take a look into that!
Where do you buy your Cerakote, can’t find it in same size containers as you have, only much smaller like for airbrush use. Really nice work 👍🏻, the cleaning and masking process is a pain I always hate when doing this process.
I buy it from PBN Coatings GmbH (Cerakote & Prismatic Powders Distributor). Painting is just 5% of the work, the rest is all prep indeed. Glad I've got this sorted, next up the frame so I can make it into a roller again!
For applying Cerakote you need to blast the surface for a good adhesion. That's not possible for the engine casing unless you'll take everything out the engine fist like the crank etc. Also I like the shade of the 2k paint a bit more than the Cerakote
@@corner.custom I loved all the boxers I owned. The experience of owning these BMW's is why I bought the v7iii Moto Guzzi. It's like a modern boxer but Italian. Air cooled, push rods, shaft drive but with Brembo disc brakes, Marzochi suspension, 6 spd transmission, fuel injection, antilock brakes, traction control, led lights, tubeless radials, ultra reliable, simple to repa3. It's what BMW should be making.
@@kevinnielsen1356 Sounds like a modern day BMW indeed! Also a 6th gear would be great. In so many cases I'm already in the highest gear and still the desire to go up a gear haha

I stand corrected 🫡 Thanks for noticing 👍🏼
@@corner.custom 😁👍
The teaser came thru and lovely work with great result. Can’t wait for the next part of the build, keep it up!
That's awesome to hear 👌🏼👍🏼 Thanks buddy
Better than factory finish- awesome job.
Yeah buddy, that's what we're aiming for, better than new 💪🏼👍🏼
Man, that finished engine looks so cool!
Couldn't agree more about that 👏🏻
Came out like new! Can't wait to hear the Siebenrock kit
Same here buddy!

Should really rock
Lets hope so!!
Great work 😍
Thanks ✌️
great project, suggest get rid of the Bings they always leak. Is there EFI available?

@monster5260 Good luck buddy 👍🏼
BMW bikes are good. Really good. So good I decided to buy a BMW car. I learned they are the same in name only.
I also bought a new daily, and also a BMW. I'll drop a video on that shortly
Buen video 👌

Gorgeous engine. What country is this??
Sure is! The Netherlands 🇳🇱 👍🏼

Any particular reason for not painting the whole engine with Cerakote?

I've owned an R75/5, R90/6 and an R100RS. My v7 Moto Guzzi will easily spank em all.
They aren't speed rockets, but they are cool AF 😁

3:55 you do not get longer stroke because of longer conecting rod.
Yes sir, you're right, I'm wrong. Multiple people already mentioned it
The stroke is the same, the diameter of the crank is the same.
Yes someone already mentioned, I stand corrected!
