  • Certain shawls are just for lounging, other shawls at definitely for special occasions. This Crochet Easy Shells Shawl is cotton and is good enough to be worn during special events like weddings. It's using Patons Grace that is 100% Mercerized Cotton. This is not dishwashing cotton but fashion cotton. WIth #3 weight yarn and lustre to the yarn, it provides incredible stitch definition.

    Thank you, you have a lovely way of teaching that is calm and easy to follow. I am very much enjoying working this lovely pattern along with the video. I look forward to working many more projects with you in the future. You are correct in saying that in the South, we do say we are going out. This will be a perfect shawl for dressing up or dressing down any outfit. Again, thank you so much.

    Does the original have a left companion Mike? I was literally trying to figure something out in my head for Patons Grace last night for a shell shawl! So happy for the image included in the pattern. My left brain loves these. Thx again!

    When I go to print the written pattern on the right side near the instructions for rows 7 & 8 there is a close up picture of the stitch covering the instructions...I think. Are there any instruction under that picture? Is it just my computer when i pull it up? I love this pattern, it's beautiful. I'm going to give it a try!

    I love this Stitch but I was wanting to create a rectangular shawl rather than a triangular shawl. Is it possible to do the Stitch in rectangular format? How would that work?

    Is there any way to size a triangle shawl up (for say a plus-sized wearer), WITHOUT ending up with this huge, long tail dragging at the back? I've tried for years, and at this point I admit that I just avoid any shawl that is triangular when I have to make it for a larger person, because of the tail issue.
    It's a lovely shawl, though. Would love to try it someday.

      I'm a plus size and I used 3 balls. I found the size to be perfect, although I'm on the short side so that might make a difference.

    • @SeliahK
      @SeliahK 5 років тому +1

      @@wendynordstrom3487 Hmm. Maybe I will give it a try. I'm a shortie myself; I'm only 5ft tall. But I wear a 3X at the hip and a 2X at the top.

    • @wendynordstrom3487
      @wendynordstrom3487 5 років тому

      @@SeliahK , you sound similar to me! I think if you make this using 3 balls (I used the yarn bee cotton cakes and I'm very pleased) you'll be fine.

      Finish on the last shell stitch, don't start the next row of the V stitch chain 5. Cut your yarn and weave it in. Finished!

    Hi do you have a crochet shell pattern for a poncho?

    • @TheCrochetCrowd
      @TheCrochetCrowd  3 роки тому

      I'm really not sure. I didn't crochet one like this with a poncho at this time. It would require research and development to design it.

    Love this and you are a wonderful teacher. I have one suggestion though, slow down your speaking just a bit. I played the first of the intro 3 times and still don't understand why you changed needles. Please help. Thanks

      the "how to" of the video is a replay of an older video using a different size yarn (looks like worsted) with a 5.00 mm hook for that yarn; the beginning of the video shows Patons Grace which looks like a size 3 weight with a 4.00 mm hook; on my computer, there is an option to have closed captions on while the video plays which sometimes helps with what is being spoken; there is also a little icon that looks like a cog to slow down the replay speed of the video; hope this helps...
