Crochet Simply Shawl

- This shawl really lives up to its name as being the Crochet Simply Shawl. This shawl is rectangular with an incredible border with large sprays of awesomeness.
This is a generous length of shawl as well and with using Caron Simply Soft, the garment will flow with you as you meander the party or just move around. It's really is gorgeous.
Though it's difficult to see in the picture, it's a repeating of just 1 row after you get established. So there's not a lot of thought to be put into this project until you get to the border. So it's an easy to do project as you watch TV. You can be distracted and not go terribly wrong.

The pattern does not have border and that is what you spoke so confusing and fast on tutorial. I want to do this but could not follow you. Can you tell me where to find border
@@kathybailey4532 Hi , i have gone to the pattern and can see instructions the instructions for the border.
I just completed this beautiful shawl for a friend to wear for her son's wedding. However, it was noted in a previous comment the border shells in the video need to be seven stitches not six. This is correct! I didn't realize it and it wasn't laying right. I found the comment, and corrected it. Seven is the magic number! I also made the shawl a little bit smaller. The multiple is 8 + 4, and if you want it shorter, make sure your final row (single crochet) is divisible by 3. I used a size 3 Ivory yarn with metallic sparkle held together with a size 5 light pink thread. 5.5 mm hook.
Thank you!
Thank you 🙏 I was looking for the multiple x
I have taught myself to crochet during lockdown. I have started on this beautiful shawl. It's beautiful...thank you so much
Thank you for showing how to make this beautiful shawl. I’m a visual learner and I don’t understand patterns.
Thank you so much for this beautiful pattern. I gave it as a prayer shawl to a sick friend (81 yrs old). Said it made her feel better and she just loves it. Again big thanks.☺
thanks so much...
I've onlty just begun.... pray for me.Thank you also for writen instructions.... this is so much fun. Thanks again,
You can do it. Believe in yourself.
I love how mine turned out. I used Caron Simply Soft in Autumn Red and it's gorgeous. I changed from an H hook to a J for the picots. I figured if I was going to do that much work they were going to be very, very visible, lol. I love it.
Beautiful Indeed
I just finished making this shawl in grey it is beautiful i left the picots off mine i preferred it without thanks Crochet Crowd for the patterns you have a beautiful collection of patterns and Mickey is a great teacher, videos are very easy to follow
Great tutorial, Mikey! Very clear. So glad you clarified the SC repeats on the border between the picot repeats. That would have driven me crazy. Thank you. Another shawl to make.
Beautiful 🤩😍
I ignored this when it came out a year ago because it looked too hard but now after finishing the texture blanket I have more confidence and this is so doable now. Thanks.
Beautiful 😍 I will watch this till I feel ready to crochet alongside with you. I’m a visual learner. Thank you 🙏 😊
I'm almost done with this Shawl and it's beautiful! Can't wait to wear it tomorrow. Thank you for such a clear and easy tutorial. Thanks again ❤️🙋.

I am impressed the way you explain the things. I am going to complete the second one now. Thanks a lot for sharing.
I like this pattern very much. The stitches give it personality.

Susan Pethtal hi Susan! I am going to make one for me too but I am a plus size gal so I am going to double the length.. It will be a nice practice. Then i will make those to give as gifts and they will be perfect.
What a wonderful thought.

The shaw is so beautiful.
This is very beautiful I love it
Awesome Content. thanks for sharing 🥰🌹❤👍
Hello Miky I'am making it love it thank-you
chantal cormier
Wow, this is really lovely. If I were to make is as a wedding shawl I'd probably do it in a soft, white sparkly yarn. Sadly I don't know anyone who's getting married soon XD
I just did that exactly in new OPAL WHITE that has a soft shimmer to it. Absolutely gorgeous
Oh wow!!! Beautiful! I started on this as soon as I watched the tutorial :) Thank-you!
So beautiful
Love this shawl. You stated in the video to have 68 stitches for the starting chain but the pattern states 70 chains?? I’m not crazy about the double treble but I’m going to give it a try. Thanks for a great pattern & such clear instructions on how to accomplish it.
The shawl is beautiful...Thank you
I made this using caron cakes yarn, turned out beautiful
budgiecharlie1 Hello. May I please ask if you used 4 Caron Cakes or did you need more? Thank you.
Loved the tutorial. Just finished this in yellow and it's beautiful... thank you
I made this about 7 years ago and it is so easy!
Yeah it's a classic design.
It's a great design.

Bellissimo, complimenti.
Making this now...on row 30...so glad I am going by the video and not the written pattern...i usually just jump to the written pattern and it's different than the video...someone really should correct it...can't wait to finish the shawl, it looks beautiful in the picture. Tfs
I've already submitted a formal request for an update to the pattern. It's in queue to be fixed by Yarnspirations when they have time to do so.
The Crochet Crowd ....thanks so much.
Hi Rhonda, have you used the 68 stitches as stated, I have started it, an can not see how this will be big enough, as the width is set with this repetitive rows there is no increase width wise, am I missing something, wanting to make for elderly as prayer shawl, many thanks.
Beautiful 😍❤️
Love your tutorial keep the good job
the shawl was sooo beautiful and i actually love it so i decide to make one for my daughter's wedding that coming up in 6 days...yike but i am almost done and been doing this for 3 days to complete and she has no idea that i am giving it to her on her wedding day...ty so much.
Nice success story!
I think I'll do it for wedding 💖
Beautiful Mikey, the border is the same as I believe the last shawl you showed us.👍👏👏👏💜
Beautiful! Thank you! Can't wait to make this! :)
I just happened to start making this exact shawl yesterday. I think it's beautiful and can't wait to see it done. Thank you, Mikey!
Wow thnx for sharing

Love this Shawl thanks so much
Thank you
Ossam design
Thank you Mikey. This shawl is beautiful. I love the color. (purple happens to be my favorite color, though.) 👍
Lana S Same here! I can see this in a variety of gorgeous colors! But I wonder if we can use a Baby Yarn instead for added softness and comfortability. What say Mikey?
Susan P, I am sure one can use baby yarn but I think the pattern would have to be adjusted. Baby yarn is thinner than worsted weight yarn, but maybe I am wrong. I agree, this pattern would look lovely in an array of colors.
Lana S I just realized he is using a really soft yarn to begin with, so I'm gonna check it out first before I try adjusting anything! 😊
I used baby yarn and it turned out beautiful! I used Lion Brand Baby Soft Pompadour in white. I still used a 5.00 mm hook so it wouldn't be small.
Thanks for the info Kelly. Good to know.
it's such a beautiful project !!! thanks for this
nige very easy ty teagh
Hello May I ask has anyone made the shawl using only 68 stitches which gives a width of 20 inches how does it grow wider.I love it but making it for elderly people from church as a prayer shawl. does not look like the lovely mass Mikey made,
Lo hice y como todo es una pieza hermosa. Muy hermosa. Gracias! !!
Awwww is so beautiful why ppl stuff looks so beautiful and mine I don't think well ppl think they do....but honestly I don't is either to tight or to loose no nothing in between...😕
Thanks for yet another great video. I have just had a quick practice at this with some cheap yarn. I'm getting married soon and am going to make this shawl for the day to keep me warm, I'm just waiting for my caron simply soft to arrive. Thanks again Mikey x
Thnx so beautiful
Such a beautiful pattern but I need a written instruction for each row if possible Thanks so much
I’m making this shawl for my daughter’s summer wedding. I realized in the video tutorial you say to begin with a chain of 68. The written pattern states 70. Once I got that little issue resolved the rest is a breeze. Hahahahah...
How did you resolve the difference in the starting chain number?
Hola Miky que nonito chal muchas gracias bendiciones
Ohhh pretty
I need this shawl for a size 2x-3x. Help
A shawl is a beauty idea to do. Thank you Belinda, Burroughs
Amazing it's beautiful 😍
I noticed the border on the shawl in the model picture has 7 spikes instead of 6. I wondered why yours wasnt laying right. Just an fyi. I love this shawl.
Thanks for your observations. I don't remember having an issue with this pattern but it could have been. It was filmed a long time ago and I can barely remember what I ate last night for supper.
how many stitches are need to make the shawl 28" wide if you are doing 98 rows plus edging?
I have made this for my wonderful mother-in-law and I know she'll love it! Thank you for this demo! Have a wonderful Christmas xx
I can't tell ... is this a rectangle, I'm assuming since no decrease. Did you use the same yarn?
@@sarahzee409 Hi Sarah, it was big enough yes, it doesn't seem so at first but my mother-in-law is a 14-16 (UK size) and it looked lovely on her x
@@SunshineLeclair Hi, it is a rectangle. I used a hobby craft cotton yarn x
Really wish you had mentioned safety eyes and stuffing and where to place arms and legs and ears.
Nice pattern :D
If I want it bigger... how many chains can I do?
regards
Multiples of 8 plus 1
Thank you so much! I really enjoy watching your Video. But I don't understand, how you count 68 chains at the beginning 😢. I always have too many chains left at the end. If I did understand you right, the pattern consists of 8 chains each plus the one at the beginning you count back for the first single crochet. So wouldn't be 65 the correct number of chains for the beginning? Where do I get wrong? Thanks from Germany 😊😊
ΕΙΝΑΙ ΤΕΛΕΙΑ ♥
I now understood, please excuse my comment 😅
Please tell me if i want to start with more than 68 ch to enlarge it what multiple is started?
Could you please tell me the formula of the stitches for this shawl as I want to make the shawl quite large
I love it! Can it have a satin ribbon closure in the front
I’ve just got the written patryn ladies ..were it said written patryn press the end of the wrighting it will give it to you or you can friend me to get the patryn if you like ..it’s just repeating till 98 Rows
The shawl is beautiful, and the Pattern seem easy, I would like to make a baby blanket from this Pattern, do you think it could be done? I'm a beginner in crochet.
He gives very clear tutorials, so I think you could do it. Consider it a test of your skill! And, if you get stuck, you can always ask for some help.
11thShadowDragon does anyone know how many multiples it has to be to make it shorter?
Claudetta Crochet multiple of 8 plus 3 plus 1 to be used as returning chain for the first row with single crochet

Doina Onciul - Thank you! 🙂
Is this a rectangle when done? thanks, love this - it's in my list now. Also, appreciate the easy to understand detailed boarder instruction ;) Donna from Canada
Yes, definitely rectangular. In just finishing mine.
I made this shawl using the same yarn. Came out spectacular. Now want to use this same design for an evening shawl with a much finer gauge yarn/thread. Something like a Perle 5 with a more prominent sheen. Has anyone tried it with a finer gauge? The yarn I'm looking to use is 100g w/ 300m. Anyone knows how to calculate conversion? thx.
I've not tried that and I don't have a way to guess without significant errors.
شكرا
It's beautiful. Can it be made with thinner yarn?
Shawl is beautiful . Please inform me do the shawl have 4 side or 2 side border ? How many feet length of the shawl ?
Love it, great job
Ammazing work love it sooooooo much
Beautiful shawl though would like to know the color of Caron Simply Soft used in this sample. Thanks
This shawl is very beautiful and easy but Isme total how much numbers of chain please show me thanks
I have learned so much from your videos. I made a shawl, but the yarn that I used, makes it to hot to wear. what's the best yarn to use, for a summer shawl?
