Hi, just want to know what’s an affordable shampoo and conditioner that you suggest
Please help my hair is post to look like yours but it dont I need a list of things you use so I can start to renew my hair please and thank you
What if you have to color your hair. I’m only 42 and I’m not ready to go gray. I started going gray in my 20s. I’m just not ready to look like a grandma but I still want to try and get curly hair.
"Don't brush your hair or any detangling methods while dry because it will make snapping noises"
*me brushing my hair everyday vigorously wondering why it makes lots of noise*
Oh. :")
Just got finished watching your video , and it really was a wake up call for me . I always wonder why my hair would look good one day and not the next . With curly hair you have to stay consistent in order to get results . I have literally done everything you can imagine to my hair and i just want my hair to back to its original state of being curly and healthy . Your video is very informative and it really taught me a few things . You just got yourself a new subscriber ! Thank you Gena for being you and wanting to share with world . You really helped me out of alot . Can't wait to watch more
Thank you so much! I appreciate it 💗🙏🏼
Thank you for sharing! I had a similar journey and felt pretty alone with my impossible hair sometimes..
If you use manic panic and attic fox, there is no chemical, it doesn't lift your hair at all it just deposits color
Of course you have to use darker colors if you have dark hair, but it helps when you are addicted to crazy colors like me. All the fun with no damage. And yes, manic panic and arctic fox are curly girl approved, as long as you don't bleach your hair.
Love that I found your page! Definitely enjoying the tips. Thanks for educating us early girls!
Thank you!!
i am so glad i found you!!!!! i just had to cut off 7 inches due to breakage. i have curly hair but i have never known how to do it!!! i cant wait to watch more.
This was really helpful, thank you!
Thanks for sharing these invaluable tips!
Thank you for watching!
Just starting with Curly Girl Method. Thanks for you beginner videos
Your hair looks gorgeous now and love your makeup in this video too!!
Thank you Nadia!
Thanks for sharing my hair used to be like ringlets and thank you for doing this video coz I want to get my curls back and I was gonna give up but now there are ways thanks sooo much.
I’m so glad I found your channel, I’ve started my curly journey about 2 weeks ago. I am a bit overwhelmed by all the information out here but I’ve found your channel to be the most helpful so far. What type of curls did you originally start out with? My hair looks really similar to your before pictures but not quite the same. I’m fairly certain I have 2B curls but honestly just trying to focus on getting moisture back into them for now so still a bit clueless. Thanks for making these videos!
Glad my videos have helped! Honestly curl type is not important to decipher so I wouldn’t worry about it ☺️
It’s more important to understand your hair’s texture (fine, medium, coarse) and it’s porosity (low, medium, high/damaged)
Thank you soo much .....ur videos are very useful...
ur hair is stunning i love u girl
My hair is so BIG it seems to grow width wise 🤦♀️, haven’t straightened in probably 2 years & get regular trims, had about 6” cut off in 2016 after a stroke because my husband was doing my hair & I felt so bad for him dealing with it. I am getting more volume at root after watching you TY! I do color because I’m mostly salt n pepper and not ready to be at 52. Am going to try more products you recommend.
Just an FYI, everything is made of chemicals. Your hair is made of chemicals, water is a chemical, you breathe chemicals (oxygen). I think the term you’re looking for when talking about “chemical” hair dyes is harsh chemicals.
This describes me to a T!! I’m trying to let my heat damaged curls come back. I’ve done chemical relaxers for years and it is so in between and I’m so impatient to have the real curl come back!!
I love your abvice
No matter if I go all over the place to look at different hair video's and get different hair care advice . I would always return back to your videos, just, because your hair looks more like my hair does. The only difference is my hair is color black and your hair is brown your hair is thin so is mines. I do not have thick bouncy curls, I have a mixer of different hair type on my head. I have some limp 2b hair at the back of my neck, I also have a mixer of 3a/3b hair around the rest of my head. I am an in between hair type, but your advice seems to work the best for my type (3) hair.
Thank you ❤️
I need the motivation to actually do this. My hair is so damaged, it’s so dry, frizzy, rough, and brittle and I just hate it so much to the point where I sometimes have the urge to shave my whole head and start over.
Great video! Your hair is so gorgeous, just a quick question. My hair is pretty wavy and has some curls but the top of my hair is always flat and frizzy. Any tips of how I can get it to stop the frizz and add more volume?
Thanks so much!
Diffusing upside down helps with volume for me! I put the diffuser’s prongs right at the root and lift. Always finish with the cold air setting to prevent frizz. I did a video recently on causes of tangles, so that should help for more tips for frizz! 💗
If you have wavy/ straight hair aka open waves can this still help you?
Hi I have a question when I was little a had curly hair 👩🦱 but when I cut it , it grew straight and now I have hair that is kinda frizzy with a little bit of wave but it is mostly straight my hair is still very healthy so would I be able to get my curly hair back
I’m 66 yrs. old I just got a spiral perm medium hair length. I also have psoriasis on my scalp. What is the best hair care products to use for my perm n scalp?
Thoughts on using henna to color? I'm a red-head, 48, and not ready to go gray. Getting ready to start the natural journey to bring out my 2B-3B curls.
How do you feel about cholesterol treatments on the hair?
Send help! I need recomendations please,
My hair is not super damaged but I did Brazilian Chemical Straightening on my 3B Hair with fine diameter.
I don't use heat and I'm transitioning, and I know what to do but the big problem is that I don't want to do a big chop in my super long hair because I like it that way, yes I have to wait a lot but what do you recommend for me?
Wao amazing change 😍 I’m drinking HAIRFINITY vitamins and my hair grew and change a lot you should review those products I even see changes on my skin because those products contain collagen. Thanks for sharing your journey very inspirational ❤️😘

Marcela Mendoza you can find Hairfinity on their website, on amazon or some cvs
I’m starting my transition. I think I have wavy hair but it might actually more curly than I think! But with my transition I’m finding my hair looks greasy and weighed down. Do you have tips?
For air drying I ‘plop’ my hair overnight! You should try it if you haven’t heard of it xxxx
Can cause bacteria growth on your hair and scalp.
I have curly hair naturally ...but I gone through straightening many time ..3 times ..so now I don't have my natural curly ..I have st hair but not nice straight ..so can I get back my natural curly ??
Do you go to the gym a lot? That’s kind of a huge issue with the leaving hair washing only a few times a week for me, I can’t just have stinky post gym hair

I’m barely a month in, and I won’t highlight anymore. I must dye my hair though. I have like a headband of white hair and I don’t want that. Can you give more detail on the best hair dyes?
Maritza Mendoza why don’t you try henna
@@sbg009 yess henna is natural, im sure it wont damage
Hii mam I have curly hair but I have bad hair fall problem my hair also frezey😑😑.. What I do ? Help me mam
Doing curly girl method for many years but cheated here and there. I did all deva girl products for about a year and ended up with severe scalp buildup and shedding. Switched to a silicone sulfate free low suds shampoo with some improvement. Still more build up or "dandruff" looking flakes than I want! Should I switch my gel?
Try doing scalp cleansers every other week or so, such as the DevaCurl Build Up Buster. Another good clarifier is a raw apple cider vinegar rinse. Also avoid applying products too close to your scalp to prevent build up.
I had the same problem
I have oily ish hair. I know you said not to wash everyday, but Ive seen prettier curls if I wash more consistently and if I don't wash often my hair gets super oily. Is washing twice a week optional?
I've heard you can gradually "train" your hair to become less oily by going longer in between washes. Some people naturally produce more oil, however shampooing frequently can also cause more oil production. Try going every other day, then every 2, and gradually increasing it. You can wear it up, use dry shampoos, scalp refreshers, etc. to extend it in between. But overall, do what is best for your hair :)
Can I remove silicone build up with vinegar?
I’ve tried organic apple cider vinegar before which helps clarify!
What’s the best vitamin to take to help grow your hair. My hair takes a long time to grow

Olaplex repairs bonding from the OUTSIDE, Bumble & Bumble bond repairing products repair hair bonding from the INSIDE! omg.
My hair used to look similar to yours. I had 3b hair, now i have 2c hair. Im nearly 26 now and ive been straightening my hair since i was 16!! I really regret it. I only started transitioning last year december but up until now i have straightened it twice.. and for about 3 months i tied my hair up in a pony tail and straightened the tail about 3 times each month of those 3 months. So i havent been good, but in losing patience!!. My hair has only slightly improved. I have a lot of hair but its thin coarse hair. So its so annoying and i cant use too many products. Im still on the search for the perfect product! Do you go to a hairdressers to cut your hair that specialises in curly hair? Or do you go to any hairdresser? I had a deva cut in february but.its so expensive
That is so great to hear you are now transitioning! It takes a lot of patience but will be SO worth it!
I go to an Aveda salon, and I requested a stylist that has experience with curly hair. My stylist doesn't do Deva cuts, but is gentle with my hair and doesn't chop too much because she understand how curly hair shrinks so much when dried. I wish I could get a Deva cut sometime, but don't have a salon near me. I think since you already got one, that's a great start to develop a good shape. and you could go to a regular stylist to just give you dusting trims but keep that same shape you got from the Deva cut. I would make sure they are a stylist that knows curly hair though. I asked the salon manager and receptionist which helped pick the right stylist for curls!
Patience is key. The quarantine is the best time to transition though it is going to take a lot longer. I feel you sister I have been so lazy this entire quarantine
I'm 49 and have been coloring my hair for several years to hide gray hair. I get a big patch of gray right where my hair parts. I just started the curly girl method trying to get my curls back. I'm probably a 2b. What would you suggest?
I have a patch of gray as well. I just part my hair on the other side to hide it because I don’t want to color it anymore. However I may use natural hair dye once the gray takes over.
Gena M Natural hair dyes? Are there certain boxes natural hair dyes or do I have to go to a specialist styler that applies natural dyes?
I have to wash my hair every morning it gets so oily. Any tips? Thank you 😄
Cass Ailstock maybe dry shampoo?
A bit late to the game, but.. The more often you wash your hair the more often it'll get oily. You just need to slowly train your hair to get used to being washed to however often you want and gradually cut down on washes. Try every two days to start with, then less and less. Hope this helps! 😊
In terms of dyeing my hair... I use 100% natural henna because I've never liked using chemicals on my hair and for a 33 year old I have so many gray hairs my hair is more salt than pepper. So I really need that henna.
Is that really harmful for bringing back my curls?
Henna is actually healthy for your hair! It really nourishes it
@@Rawan_unfiltered yep thats true!
Is there any way to avoid clumps of ringlets and limit shrinkage?
Depends on the application method you use for your styling products. If you use the “praying hands” method, where you press the hair between your hands and run the product down the curls, it prevents shrinkage. To avoid clumps, you can comb your fingers through your hair after applying products to break them up.
Thank you for responding. I’ve done all that you mentioned and by the time my hair dries it’s all in clumps and very short. Oh well.... I’m hopeless🤪🤦🏻♀️
Hey! I just started my curly hair journey. But i really don't know how to take care of it. I watched a thousand of video's, but my hair is still a mess. And i also don't know how to refresh my curls, especiallyin the morning. Its sooo difficult. Please help :))
I have a video about refreshing here: ua-cam.com/video/Sz9khXpFTKc/v-deo.html
Summary:
Not a tight ponytail
Not detangle when dry -> but conditioner in hair completely wet
Sleep with satin silk
No hair towel
I heard air drying is bad because your hair strands being swollen with water for too long expands to for too long which is bad
I have curly hair wash about every 2/4 days how do u sleep with your hair mine is crazy once I wake
Use a silk pillowcase or wrap your hair in a silk head wrap It'll keep your curls in place while you move around in your sleep. It has great benefits for your skin as well. They go for about $10-20 on Amazon.
wrap your hair, and use protective styles at night !
what is the difference between conditioner and deep conditioner?
Deep conditioners are meant be left on your hair longer, and usually contain more intense moisturizing ingredients. They are more like treatments. Conditioners are more for regular use and are not left on very long.
I've heard to not brush hair wet and to not brush hair dry... which is it???
Brushing dry curly hair causes frizz and destroys your curl pattern.. I have noticed a HUGE difference after I stopped brushing and tugging my dry curly hair❤
What to do if you have gray hair?
You can still use these tips :)
Can I put it on my scalp and work down or not just at the root to the end of the length
I wash my hair everyday and my hair isn’t dry it’s really soft do you thing I should still stop washing it everyday
Do what works best for you!
Gena Marie okay thank you
Well... I can't stop coloring my hair because I'm 50 and getting lots of greys which I refuse to have, so I color my roots every month with demi permanent color and I do my ends a red color again demi permanent but every other month 😒
You can use henna
Wait why is brushing dry hair a no no?
It disrupts your natural curl pattern by stretching and spreading your hair follicles, causing tangles and reduction in curls/waves
Vitamins for hair growth is a big NO!!!!
I don't know why she still has her videos up where she is promoting diva curl 🤦🏽♀️. Their are so many people being effected by these products. They literally are ruining curls and scalps all over the world. So to any beginner or person looking for products, stay away from Diva curl.
