OVERGROWN Sidewalk Edge NEGLECTED For 50 YEARS Gets A FREE Makeover

  • This job was by far one of the hardest overgrown sidewalk edge I've done in a long time. Many of you that have watched the cleanup for the listing agent video from weeks ago, well when I was finished with that estimate, I noticed this abandoned home with these crazy overgrown sidewalks. Both sides needed to be done, and nobody was doing anything about them.
Is 50 years an over statement? You be the judge of that. To me, this home looks about 50 years old. I project that the sidewalks have never been professionally edged. Now I am just guessing at this point. From the amount of soil & root build up these sod pieces had, it would be safe to say so.
The other side of the property will definitely be done. Stay tuned for another video of me finishing the other side. The only reason I didn't do the other side was because I was WAY TOO tired to finish both. My body started to cramp from not eating and drinking enough water. I had to let my body recover after this big of a job.
(UPDATE) A few days after doing this job, I started to notice really bad pain in both my legs. I am now recovering from shin splints. Not fun. Guys, be careful when doing these kind of jobs and don't ever overwork yourself. I have a tenancy of doing that, and in result, I harm my body unintentionally.

As long as he stays on the public sidewalk, he's simply performed self motivated Civic Volunteerism.

Perfectly straight edges are not the main focus in this one. This was an incredible transformation & I can only imagine how completely exhausted you were by the end. One thing's for sure the neighbors, who are now able to more easily go down that section of sidewalk, are very grateful. I'd love to see a part 2!

Wonderful transformation! Fill's, Awesome job on cleaning up - beautifying - the sidewalks in this, Pt. 1 & 2! That was a lot of work. 12 hours+ total? Hopefully, the neighbors, community, and city appreciated the wonderful work (again, for free and on your own time) you've done in cleaning up and beautifying these sidewalks that haven't been cleaned in 50 yrs. Your caring attitude is infectious! Job well done! Keep up the wonderful work you do, for free! You're a great guy, Fill's! Thanks and appreciate you!
