It Took A Simple KNOCK To Find Out This ELDERLY Man Needed Serious HELP
Вставка
- Опубліковано 29 вер 2024
- I was driving around my neighborhood to see if anyone was in need help and I stumbled upon this overgrown yard. I knocked on the homeowners door and his son answered (From what I visually saw, I believe they were both disabled). He told me that his elderly father had a riding lawn mower that broke down and it was hard to find parts for that lawn mower. They were completely amazed that I was willing to do such a kind thing for them. A simple knock on the door, folks.

Great job! I will never understand why neighbors never help neighbors anymore. I recently saw that my elderly neighbor had not mowed his lawn for over 2 weeks. We had some rainfall in those 2 weeks so that always sets you back. I reached out. He had a decline in health and could no longer mow and could not find a mow service. I stepped up until he could. Remember some people will not swallow their pride and ask for help.
It isn’t always pride that stops them. It’s knowing people have enough on their plates as it is and not wanting to bother anyone. That’s why it’s important to reach out to people who obviously aren’t able to keep up, whether it’s with labor, home cooked meals or just spending time with them. I’m disabled and I do what I can and hire what I can’t but a lot of people can’t afford to hire help. Thank you Lori for showing your neighbor there are still good folks out there and the people watching this channel that helping used to be the norm and should still be.
My three neighbors n myself are all elderly n same age. For two weeks I mowed the neighbors double lot cause his rider broke n he was pushing his other mower. He could barely go. So when I got done with my lawn, I went over n mowed his. Did the same thing with the neighbor beside me. Makes ya feel good inside. 🤪
That was so kind of you!
@@agnesklaus4923 Wow, wonderful!
See that little square thing you carry around in your pocket every day? And the square thing in your living room with a 24 hr news cycle of bipartisan hatred filling our homes?
That's why.
Thank you so much for helping out an elderly person. Unlike the neighbors who put up an expensive fence to block the view, you did something meaningful and helpful for this man. You did a great thing, and your actions restore my hope for humanity.
Note to that the fence is installed incorrectly. The supports go on the side of the fence owner. That was dirty of them.
Thank God their are still people that help seniors. TY 😢
That man needed serious help and that exactly what he got thanks to your kind hard work.
Great job and thank you for letting the snake run off to another hiding spot. A blessing to these needy folks.
Next to Fill helping this elderly person, the next best part of all the videos, for me at least, is the edging. Always such clean lines when he's done. Another great video!
Amazing equipment and of course enough cannot be said about people like this that donate their time and skill to help others. Great job!
I like when u tell what kind of grass is on the property and the names of the trees and hedges. Excellent job skills as always. thank you for the video.
You should go back and see what it looks like now if anybody has kept it up? Great job amazing nice gesture that you do for people with the world needs now is more neighbors caring about neighbors. It's so
I am so happy to see y'all doing this!

Amazing work. I like the extra care to blow the dust off the cars.
My goodness that’s a large lot. Great job.
Fantastic job Fill .. Kidney buster all them bumps shew

What I don’t understand is why this man son didn’t DO SOMETHING TO HELP HIS DAD HE COULD OF CUT IT HIMSELF OR HIRED SOMEONE TO DO THE YARD. GRRR TO THE SON
Great video u do awesome work that snake looked like a checkered garter snake 🐍
Good job! (The snake was a viper).
if you cut gross so short it will burn in sunshine.. can you leave it longer ?
I vividly remember when my grandfather told me his new neighbors (a young family in their 20’s) had offered to mow their lawn for free. My grandparents were declining and it was very hard for my granddaddy to mow his lawn anymore, and all of us lived out of state. My granddaddy was so shocked and humbled by this young man’s generosity! The young man even refused gas money. Granted, it was a small lot to mow, but it still cost time and money. ❤
This happened forty years ago, but I have kept it in mind as I have gone through life. When I have had the ability to help a neighbor at very little “cost” to me, I help. Why not!!
Uma bela atitude !

Well it is said that great marriages don’t just happen and I’m inclined to believe the same is true for community.
You’re a good person
Thank you so very much for donating you services, time, supplies, and talents to help others, especially our elderly community. If only everyone in the world were as selfless and as kind, the world would be a much better place. God Bless to you and your family.

Aren’t you concerned about theft of your equipment?
I know you have a business to support your family but to take time out to help a 80 year old gentleman is heartwarming. Great job! Keep passing the love on!
It's not a 100% selfless act. He does make money on the videos...probably.
@@loopy7232 Making money off the videos he posts doesn’t make him selfish! If anything it shows how condescending people like YOU are and how people don’t give a damn about their fellow humans!

@@loopy7232 Let’s hope he does. His time and effort are worth something. I doubt he’s a wealthy man and he does have expenses to cover. He’s still generous to do this for nothing.
@@taylorplaysmc9291 - He also puts himself and his equipment in jeopardy. All of that debris and dust is not healthy to breathe into one’s lungs. The mask may not filter out enough of the super fine particulate. I don’t know how his equipment takes the abuse it receives from these jungle properties - especially since he cannot see all that might be partially buried and hidden in all of the overgrowth.

That is a huge yard! Excellent work and perfect score for your kind heart! You restored their dignity and that is a tremendous gift that pays forward. ❤
You made a considerable difference in this yard. Enjoyed seeing the grounds NOT laden with garbage for you to deal with. Shows the homeowner cares about the area. You did a very good thing!
Sounds a bit judgy since many homeowners who cannot take care of their lawn cannot get outside, much less bend over to pick up the trash discarded by thoughtless others. They have bigger fish to fry. As my SO is handicapped, he certainly cannot. Any new or worsening illness can prevent someone from being able to maintain their residence, along with the death of a spouse, caregiver, the death or relocation of offspring, even the illness or other interruption of people hired to do this work. Have you ever thought of those things instead of judging?
I had not considered some of the situations you brought to light. Thank you for commenting.
@@kathrynwitte3398 I didn’t read any judging at all in this persons comment, much more judging from you about his comment! Maybe, Kathryn, you can enlighten us all with you judgement of where he was being judgmental in any way? I, personally, would not want to be in the position of being unable to attend to my property due to illness or injury. At this point I could afford to hire someone if needed but I mow and trim two acres myself and am working on removing invasive specifies from the other five acres. I am retired and 61 years old but go out in the woods every day and dock Asian Honeysuckle by hand with a tree spade from the hillsides of my property that I can’t access with my tractor. In the last week I have removed 3,000 or 4,000 Asian Honeysuckle, some 20’ tall, others 6” tall. My goal is to removed every honeysuckle from my property before winter sets in!
That does make a big difference when you have to stop and cart things away from the yard.
@@jeffsmith2070 good luck
It is so nice to see you wear a breathing filter while mowing this extremely dusty yard. Taking care of your lungs now will reward your health. Smart man. Well done.
It is sad that some people will turn their neighbors in for unkept lawns instead of asking if they would like some help getting their property back in shape. Thank you for what you do.♥
People that cannot take care of their lawns should swallow their pride and ask for help
some people are to "proud" to ask for help.
We had a neighbor down the street didn’t trust anyone in their yard! Sadly, Neighbors had NO choice but to report them. I was like why? You don’t want them cutting your weeds or grass it’s not like you have anything worth stealing.
@@missprimproper1022 Nice neighbors. 🙄
It may not be pride. I know when I ask my grandkids for help, the first thing out of their mouths is what do they get out of it. So maybe some people Don't have money to pay for the help given if they are asked to be paid, so don't ask. Or as my grandkids also do, next weekend, then next weekend over and over but they never do it, till my neighbor asks if I need help.
I fortunately live next to some great neighbor's who offer to help. Also they belong to a church group that are always looking to do service in the community so they will go and ask the people in our small town if they can bring their church group to do yard work etc as part of their service to the community. They'll arrange in advance a day t o do 4 - 5 yards and can get a large enough group to knock out one home per hour. Wonderful people.
Edit to add: Also if they are elderly, sick, or injured enough to where they are basically home bound they may not be able to get out to ask for help. A good neighbor would go check on their neighbor and ask if they need anything.
Dude; you are awsome; as a senior citizen with disabilities I understand how he got behind on yard work. Social Security only goes so far and inflation severly hurts. Thank you for helping him out
I’m 68. I just mowed my big backyard it use to take me 20 minutes now it takes me 40 minutes. It’s hard to do. 😊 and I have a self perpelled. One It’s still hard to manage. He helped it look great again.

I know your mama is proud of you. As the mother of 3 grown sons, one being redheaded and blue-eyed, I just couldn't help myself in yelling at you to put on a mask and watch out for snakes and spiders. I've watched 2 videos so far and see that you're a true Blessing. Many thanks for your free services to those in need.
I was saying the same thing, lol!
Yes! Mask definitely! I Hassel some other lawn care people about masks too...even if it's a bandana, it's still better than nothing lol
I would think his father is just as proud?

I agree with you on a mask, all that dust is not good for your lungs.
You removed a huge burden off this gentleman's shoulders; surely he has a smile in his heart.

My favorite part is that you were kind enough to help an elderly man that couldn’t do it for himself. Thank you for helping him, I’m sure he was very grateful. God bless you! 💗
Hi Fill. Awesome work. I never figured I’d watch someone do lawn care, but it’s relaxing. My favorite part is just watching how things change. Every part of the job seems satisfying to me. Keep up the good work!!!
Dude the after shots are crazy that’s insane man nice job. The yard is massive compared to what it looked like in the beginning. Dude your absolutely knocking it out of the park with the job you do. And the videos are just a work of art man. Keep up the great work bud. 🔥
Lori, we are different kind of neighbors. When I was younger, I remember my mother making me go ask elderly neighbors if they needed something from the store. Mind you, she wasn't taking us, we had to walk and could not accept anything they wanted to give us. Today, its about me, myself and I. I hope one day we return to carrying about all human beings and reverence our seniors.
Good luck… unless they get paid more than minimum wage, the teens in out 50+ home neighborhood aren’t interested. So, making sure local businesses are supported, i pay for moving, yard cleanup, putting down mulch, etc. at 70+, we are lucky to be able to pay for these services. The kid across the street doesn’t even offer to help shovel snow!
@@trapperurban4984 Same here. I'm surrounded by young able people who wouldn't lift a finger to help with anything. I live in a condo and everyone is supposed to help, unlike in an apartment building. No one does, except for two elderly gentlemen in their 80s and myself. One saw me shoveling the sidewalk once and passed right by me. I'm 67, not that old, but I'm frail and skinny. I would have appreciated it. It's sad and I can't wait to get out of here.
Lots of dust and bouncing around on this large over grown lawn. As usual fantastic job. I can only imagine the wonderful feeling the home owner must have after your great job. Thanks again for your generosity. Thanks for the videos.
Whew! When the dirt and dried grass began floating in the air, I couldn’t help but give a reflexive cough!

When you started to mow and all that dry dirt started flying, I said get your mask on, Fill! That was a big, dusty, bumpy job but you handled it just great.
Looked like a tooth rattler for sure. He's smart to go with the filter mask over other quick cheap options
U are awesome Fill!! Thank you for your kindness and generosity! Some ppl seem to think it's so easy maintaining a yard. It's hard work especially if something happens and ur unable to maintain it for a while. Becomes even harder very quickly. You are a blessing!!👍👍

It warms my heart to see that you are willing to help out a 80 year old man, it gives me Fath that we hear in this country still care about the older generation. God bless you
The amount dirt with every path of the mower was WAY over the top! Wonderful job!! Do you ever get halfway through and wonder WHY this yard? It is so nice of you and other UA-camr lawn peeps to help all these people not physically able or don't have the money to hire someone. B-)

Such an act of kindness. This young man is not only offering up his time, but the wear on his equipment can be costly. Not to mention he could be doing paying jobs. Kudos!
except for the advertisement money, sponsorships, and donations received through posting it to youtube instead of actually doing it for nothing.
Yes, they do get some recognition from posting on UA-cam. It’s not immediate to get monetized. But I think all these guys that do yard cleanup for free are reminding others to help too. Great example for others.
WOW! Beautiful job! I’m sure father and son are happy with the work you did! Thank you for everything you do to help others! God bless you. 🙏🏾
jobs like this take a long time to complete, I know , I have a big yard. However, the service you provide free to these ppl is amazing and very generous. Keep up the great work!
It saddens me that neighbours can’t pitch in and help. I have an elderly lady who can’t manage to cut her grass anymore but always refuses help. This year I decided not to ask her anymore but just go and cut her grass and she was so grateful for the help. I roped in another neighbour and between us we do her garden. I do the front and the other neighbour does the back. That way it’s not such a burden on one person.
You are a blessing to your community, your neighborhood and your state!! Thank you for all you do!!!
Somebody complained your introduction to say what is going on too long?
Can't please everybody...
Good work as always!
Saving seniors one lawn at a time with a yard transformation. You continue to amaze me with your generosity and craftsmanship. I suspect the reptile was a small rat or garter snake, existing mostly on worms, grubs and insects. What triggered the Rock Paper Scissors? I missed the context.
I noticed that your right foot is on the deck pedal. Do you do that to raise the deck when initially mowing into tall growth? I feel that every time I watch your videos I learn another practice I should be doing with my own ZT mower. After 6 weeks with minimal rain I managed to successfully mow our swamp.
Question are your front wheels pneumatic or airless.? I managed to have one flatten. I got a tire plug kit and a quart of Slime. Should I be looking for an airless variation of wheel? I suspect a thorn.
Thanks for sharing this insightful video and for wearing a mask. You ha e a good focus on personal safety. Wishing you and your family a blessed week, gentle weather, nourishing rain and restful evenings. Peace brother.
The reason I watch your channel is because you take care of the front and back yards not just the front. Also the attention to detail you give a free mow is spot on.👍🏻👍🏻 Great job😊
Its so cool that you always help people that need it the most.
My favorite part was that you saw a challenge the old man had and fixed the issue free! I also like that you edged everything with the string trimmer first, then did the mowing. I assume you check for obstacles and debris that might have been in the way as you used the string trimmer. Nice result! ❤️

I have watched you a few times. This yard was a real challenge! Love to see you changing tools. I wish I had some of these when doing my yard. Great job!!! I admire your joy serving those in need. God bless you!
You’re so nice to do this yard for them! Question....how many batteries do you use for trimming on a big yard like this? My yard is a half acre and have to use about 11/2. Wondering if that’s about normal and I don’t have a sidewalk. Great job! - watching from Lake Wales, Florida

Wow, what a transformation. I hope people never take for granted the kindness of strangers. What you do should never be taken lightly. Something as simple as a lawn transformation can lift a person's spirit and give them something to be truly proud of. Sometimes when your lawn gets so out of hand, it can seem so overwhelming and put you in a state of depression or anxiety. You, my friend, can save people!!!!! ❤😷
It is very hard to get mower parts right now!! I've had one of our zero turns in the shop since May and still no word on even an expected date on one tiny part! I hope this video is an eye opener for some that just because people do not have a perfect yard doesn't automatically mean it is because they are lazy. Not only are times very tough for all of us right now, but getting parts can take a year or more!
It seems he may have a lazy son, though. The son could have brought a hand mower over to his dad’s house to at least mow every other week or so. He could have even rented one if he didn’t own a push mower. Always worse to play catch up after months of overgrowth.
@@theway5563 I mean, did you even read the comment you replied to... at all? What if the son isn't physically able to mow grass? What if (as we all are struggling financially), he could not afford to pay someone to mow his own grass plus his father's yard? What if he could not afford to rent a mower or has no mode of transportation to haul it if he did rent one? The entire point of my original comment was *not* to automatically judge strangers based solely off of an unkept yard. People have health struggles, financial struggles, etc. Sometimes grass gets thrown in the back burner... Because it is just grass lol!

Hello from Australia. Wonderful job you did for these people.
I can’t get over how they have big back yards in your country.
Not all here have big back yards. When I was looking to buy a house I found, in my price range, built before 1980 the backyards are bigger. At least this seems to be the case in Washington state. I need one for my dog ❤
In older (1928 when ours was parcelled) suburban areas we have 1 acre lots in my area.
My sister's area has .5 acre lots and my daughter's area of the city has 1-2 acre lots.
Like D said though, it varies in all states/areas.
Yes, even within suburban city limits, the size and complexity of our yards can vary greatly. Here in the rust belt, there are turn of the last century developments with enormous and lavish garden and lawn European style yards next to MacMansion developments stacked into cul-de-sacs with tiny postage stamp turf lawns.
I live in Ohio and we have large yards
Where I grew up in NC we had a HUGE front, sides & back yard!!!! I hated HAVING to mow it with a push mower every week!!! THEN when my Dad & stepmom FINALLY got a riding lawnmower, I was ECSTATIC, but they let my stepbrother take over mowing BECAUSE he WANTED to feel like the BIG BOY!!!! I TRIED TELLING them he was gonna screw it up, they DIDN'T listen...AND he DID!!!! LMAO 🤣🤣 THEY TRIED to get me to do it after that & I straight up REFUSED!!!! I MADE them continue with his DUMBASS!!!! LMAO 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I NEVER did the yardwork AGAIN!!!!!

What an amazing transformation. Thanks for helping them.
That was an incredible amount of dust you had to deal with...and the size of that block was big too. Love your work. Hi from Melbourne, Australia!
First time watching..landscaped myself a few years, is why I had to check it out, especially since you were blessing this 80yrs young gentleman..Blessings on you and its refreshing to still know there's folks out there willing to help out us elderly who aren't as spry as we once were and in poor health. I'm not 80 yet but not to far behind..keep up the hard work! 😎👍
My friend still mows her yard. She's 88 years old I'm 82 and still trim all my flowering bushes and do my house work cook a big meal 5 times a week I painted my kitchen cabinets and table and chairs this year and all my woodwork. and painted my bathroom getting ready to stain my deck again and meet my friends at Mc Donald's every morning for 20 years since I retired lived in my home for 63 years my point is : 82 is not so old anymore
This looks fantastic! You are the absolute best edger on UA-cam. Your sidewalk work is so tight and clean and you just made their life sooo much safer. Thank you!
Part that I liked best: You wore a mask! Finally, a UA-cam mower with common sense and prudence. No one’s lungs need all that dust. Thank you for your kindness.
You are an amazing guy and if it was my dad you’d been helping I’d been so grateful. Again the edging if my fav part especially when this path came to its right when you cut the grass and had those edges lined up perfectly….
I just wish we got to see the reactions from the homeowners but I also respect that some people don’t want to appear on social medias….
I cant believe no one helped him. Good job, you did a great deed and I thank you for doing all that work! It looks amazing!
Great yard transformation! You are so kind to help people who can't do it alone.
Thank you for being kind and helping! The world needs more of it!
That was a crazy huge yard. Crazy tall grass. Lots of dirt. Your really a hard working dude. So amazing that you help people with such a job. I’m sure it would cost a lot to pay for your time to do such a big job. God bless.
