forget the video,the song is just brilliant it takes me back to when I lived on the belgian/dutch border (late 80's early 90's) when I could ride my motorbike flat out,drink all night and have the time of my life.I still go back truck driving and regularly hear the song on local radio stations,so foot to the floor and sing my heart out to a care free time in two brilliant countries that I hold very close to my heart.Happy days !!!!

Nothing else on Earth like Golden Earring. The first vacation I ever took to Amsterdam was lucky enough to see them in an impromptu jam session in a small club with about 30 people there...awesome!
Love this song. Still have the vinyl 45. Once upon a time MTV was a good thing and played interesting videos by bands that were not too widely known, but then they started getting bumped later and later into the night and their air time dwindled to make time for bigger but less interesting performers and their obscenely over budgeted videos. I prefer those early days when they were a bit rough and quirky and unpolished. The music was fun before image took over.
Or else the piece of brain fed to the dog after the lobotomy. Never knew it was banned. I was fortunate to haave the USA Channel's anti-MTV Night Flight which had the balls to play stuff MTV would never touch.
Sad that there is nothing like Night Flight. The first time I ever saw any images from Eraserhead, The Forbidden Zone,Jack Mac and Rad Boy,Repo Man,G-Men Forever, Nick Danger and the Case of the Missing Yolks, etc. It was an antidote to the increasingly robotic 80's. It was a wonderful warping experience every Friday and Saturday night.Whenever I hear the female announcer's voice it flashes me back to those times.

Great video. Dutch are good at making fun of taboos. Very healthy. The section from 1:05 to 1:20 is so typical Golden Earring. No other band that I know of can build up a song quite like that. Shadow dancing!
I think they either had a heavily edited version here in the States back then as it was out of the normal MTV rotation. Very dark with amazing visuals. Good stuff from the old days!
