Extremely talented musicians from song writing to live performances. Plenty of great songs, almost none is weak: This song "All you Zombies", "Satellite", "Johnny B.", "Karla with a K", "One Way Home", "Give the Music back"....and many more.. They also wrote "Time after Time" for Cindy Lauper and "One of Us" for Joan Osborne. Lots of bands would be happy to have one of these songs, The Hooters have tons of great songs. Eric is in 2022 69 and Rob 72!!! Still great rocking!
But it's like Beyonce and Cowboy Carter album, it's a great album. She completely changed the lyrics to Jolene though, why not just write NEW music for the NEW lyrics? But some other stuff on that album really is great. But the Jolene thing kind of knocked it down for me, smacks of big ego to do that to a classic song.
Nothing like this when it was released in 1985.... Sounds better than ever in 2022. Eric Bazliian was one of the coolest guitarists and songwriters of the 80s. So many people didn't realize they were the core of Cyndi Lauper's mega zillion selling first album.

Love the meaning of this song. Very social. Taking biblical themes and shining the spotlight on social issues.i take this song very personally. It cautions the 'high and mighty' in their 'high places' to not take themselves to seriously (pride goes before a fall) and it lifts up the lowly, humble, meek every man one the street.
+rowdymax1 Hmm. Too bad you know nothing of US history. The only thing our founding fathers hated worse than monarchy was corporations. The Boston Tea Party? Not so much a rebellion against England as it was a rebellion against a corporation--the East India Company. All the tea was theirs. "No taxation without representation?" it was about corporations having enough influence to have Parliament enact a law--the Tea tax--while the colonies had no vote at all. the "anti 1 percenters" were a lot more patriotic than I imagine you are. The US only granted 7 corporate charters in the first 15 years of our country. That's how much they were despised. Then came Manifest Destiny. and as for 'poopy pants?" You're right wing hero Ted Nugent wore the same pants for 30 days and then pooped in them so he could avoid the draft. And molested young girls. Sometimes it's better to keep your mouth shut and let people think your stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.
The Hooters were my first concert! I saw them at Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg VA. Loved their music, I am still dumbstruck at why they weren't more popular.
Holy Moly. Heard this on the German radio and I'm Indian living in India. Can't stop listening. I interpret it as calling out all the fakers, influencers, celebs, politicians, billionaires - telling them when you go above your soul is bare.
Same here. I had it on cassette ("what's that?") back in the day. Believe it or not, there is a main-stream grocery store in my town with THE best music you could imagine...Stones in the cat food aisle, Ramones in the frozen section...then this came on. I knew I liked it, but I couldn't place it...DOING! I got it. Good to hear it again. I never saw the vid until now...so well done. Take care, my friend.
This band was sanctioned because of it's powerful but true message to the elite and high and mighty. Word for word it's all true and slowly falling into place
I never realized as a youth this song was biblical related. We are the zombies we know who the people in high places are. Turn to Christ! God speaks and tries to reach us in many ways. Praise God .

Hi Coy. Actually, this song was extremely relevant back in the 80s, which is why it has been a favourite of mine since it was released. Back then (a) the USA was seeing the beginning of far-right politics via Reagan & the Republican Party, paranoia & hate was infecting evangelical/fundamentalist churches, and there was a rise in overt racism/homophobia/xenophobia/misogyny, (b) England was under the thumb of Margaret Thatcher & the Conservatives, who arrogantly attacked the working class, caused massive levels of unemployment & destroyed the lives of so many ordinary Brits, (c) materialism & other excesses of the world's upper classes was being openly flaunted while so many were suffering, (d) the commercialization/corporatization of the arts began to eat away at its creativity & integrity, and (e) many other issues were causing great concern among musicians, futurists, those who cared about social justice, and even mainstream churches/philosophers/moralists. (The Hooters were/are an Australian band, so I suspect that similar issues - along with matters regarding Indigenous rights that Midnight Oil sang about - were also affecting them.) It's very easy to get caught up in nostalgia & look back at any era with rose-coloured glasses, but the truth is usually far less enjoyable to remember. In the case of the late 70s & 80s, everything needs to be seen in a much more accurate context, and a lot of the best music we hear today from that era was written in response to a lot of the socio-economic & the domestic & global political problems of the time. IMHO, understanding the context enhances my appreciation for a lot of great art that was created back then. (*) (**) (*) As a starting point, read up about the massive levels of unemployment in the UK during the late 70s and especially during the Thatcher era, then listen to the beautiful song "Don't Give Up" sung by Peter Gabriel & Kate Bush. It's a powerful 'story' & message directed to millions of Brits. (**) Also, listen carefully to the lyrics of the oft-misunderstood 80s hit, "Electric Avenue" by Eddy Grant. While it is generally remembered as a huge party anthem, it really is a protest song re: the massive levels of inequality that Eddy Grant saw at home, in the USA & UK, and elsewhere. Ok...more than enough said....lol 😎✌

@lillywright2227 Amen. This is my belief too. Jesus said as a prophet that when he will return it will be exactly like in the days of Noah. There will come the judgement day and it will come soon because the wickedness is as strong as never before. We believers who learned to regret our sins and to believe in the unfailing compassionate love of our shepherd and Lord Jesus the Christ we will be raptured on that day and will be full of joy and will shine like the stars because we will be in the presence of God the heavenly father and Jesus whilst we will see with our own eyes that the rest of humans stay in the darkness and will go down together with all wicked. This will be a sad day for the unbelievers but for us believers it will be the beginning of endless joy, love and peace. It will be the day the human race desperately is waiting for thousands of years. I know where I will be on that day. Halelujah dear heavenly father, halelujah Jesus. I can't thank you enough and will forever praise you for my salvation.

One of the greatest guitar solos ever.

Holy Moses met the Pharaoh
Yeah, he tried to set him straight
Looked him in the eye,
"Let my people go!"
Holy Moses on the mountain
High above the golden calf
Went to get the Ten Commandments
Yeah, he's just gonna break 'em in half!
All you zombies hide your faces,
All you people in the street,
All you sittin' in high places,
The pieces gonna fall on you
No one ever spoke to Noah,
They all laughed at him instead
Workin' on his ark,
Workin' all by himself
Only Noah saw it comin',
Forty days and forty nights,
Took his sons and daughters with him,
Yeah, they were the Israelites!
All you zombies hide your faces,
All you people in the street,
All you sittin' in high places,
The rain's gonna fall on you
Holy Father, what's the matter?
Where have all your children gone?
Sittin' in the dark,
Livin' all by themselves,
You don't have to hide anymore!
All you zombies show your faces,
All you people in the street,
All you sittin' in high places,
The pieces gonna fall on you!
All you zombies show your faces,
(I see you out there!)
All you people in the street,
(Let's see you!)
All you sittin in high places,
It's all gonna fall on you
:) thank you so much 🙏 I love you God

Extremely talented musicians from song writing to live performances. Plenty of great songs, almost none is weak: This song "All you Zombies", "Satellite", "Johnny B.", "Karla with a K", "One Way Home", "Give the Music back"....and many more.. They also wrote "Time after Time" for Cindy Lauper and "One of Us" for Joan Osborne. Lots of bands would be happy to have one of these songs, The Hooters have tons of great songs. Eric is in 2022 69 and Rob 72!!! Still great rocking!

@@Heffaklumpen.Hugh.Grant.2003 I'm surprised and delighted to hear it.
Once in a while, somebody writes a real song.
Yes today some artists do it once in a while, in the 80's and the 90 the artists wrote real songs all the time in my opinion.
Once in a while - back then.
I'm 30 now... been playing it since i was a very young boy. Never understood it till recently. It has more meaning today than ever before.

Going to their concert tonight! They are still going strong.
For me, The Hooters were the musical vampires of the 80s. Her style was just amazing. Just cool.

Nothing like this when it was released in 1985.... Sounds better than ever in 2022. Eric Bazliian was one of the coolest guitarists and songwriters of the 80s. So many people didn't realize they were the core of Cyndi Lauper's mega zillion selling first album.
Everytime I listen to this I realize some brilliant minds had to be behind the songwriting.
Oh, wow.... I didn't know that!
Just read the credits on the album. 😊

@Mathew Ross Hello Ross, greetings. Don’t get me wrong, I believe there are people “losing taste and small” and so forth.........people unfortunately losing lives to pulmonary issues etc.........but I theorize it’s from “A” “B” “C” and “D” (all of the above). An accumulative concoction of Monsanto’s GMOs, from the air we breathe, from electric ⚡️pollution affecting our cellular structure............and even malevolent man made diseases made in labs to fulfill the Luciferian agenda of the “Georgia guide stones”.............”bring the human population to 500,000,000”. Got ask to go to see TheHooters in 1985 in Springfield Il. They opened up for Loverboy. Listened to their music on radio, just didn't know what to expect. Got 11th row on the main floor and got to see two bands that sounded exactly like their albums. No added or left out words, beat count right on, no extra rifts just like it sounded on the radio. All I can say is we sang and we danced and we were loving every minute of it!

Being a big fan of the Seventies... my teenage years... I have only recently reappraised how good the music of my twenties were. The Hooters had everything...musically speaking. All you zombies is a great showcase for their combined talents.
This song came out when I was 10. I am now 110.
I know what you mean, brother.
Whoever produced this recording knew what they were doing. They made a good song sound exceptional.
Rick Chertoff who also did "Girls just wanna have fun" and "Time After Time" by Cindy Lauper
He didn't hide the drums. Brought them right up front. Big bass and crash cymbal.
Still can't get enough of this group's music

+Triplet Tam Pretty darned good revisionist history, right there!
you're....not your. You need to be more careful if you're going to call someone stupid.

Same here. I had it on cassette ("what's that?") back in the day. What an epic song! I always loved the Hooters!
This song is more relevant now than in 1985! More followers than ever!!
(The Hooters were/are an Australian band, so I suspect that similar issues - along with matters regarding Indigenous rights that Midnight Oil sang about - were also affecting them.)
It's very easy to get caught up in nostalgia & look back at any era with rose-coloured glasses, but the truth is usually far less enjoyable to remember. (*) (**)
(*) As a starting point, read up about the massive levels of unemployment in the UK during the late 70s and especially during the Thatcher era, then listen to the beautiful song "Don't Give Up" sung by Peter Gabriel & Kate Bush.

Amen.
