I really want to see this little mini finished I'm loving the way it looks wood and picket were based around the corner from were I grew up I was always walking past to see wot was being worked on good luck with it
1st time i ever saw a mini with a front end like that! Yeah i have done a project doing an engine conversion in a metro, and a years worth of work really does show. Took me and my dad about a year to sort the body out before we even started the engine conversion, worst thing was, that took us back another year too. A fucked engine pushed the on the road deadline back another year. Was i hell going to let it sit another year on the driveway, after 5 years of ownership. The final year 2012 me and my dad really pushed on with it, as i said this has to go on the road this year, to start earning some enjoyment and its keep like, other wise it goes for scrap. We ran the car until 2014, when the body was just too far gone to be sorted. My welding was starting to fail, so i bought another better body and built a even better car. Ran the full project till 2016, until it got too expensive and the enjoyment wasn't there anymore. So it was scrapped. id do another car again with out any trouble, but spares and scrappies are getting a little thin now sadly. Would i do another metro again? Not sure on that one again, after owning 3, and the shite info i had to filter through, and getting hold of parts. I think its just to far now for me to look at another metro again.
Great story. It’s just terrific hearing about you working with your dad. Never had the chance, me. Then I had daughters, love them to pieces, but on my Tod for a long time. Always into bikes and done several projects. I find the idea of restoring a car a bit intimidatingly large, whereas I can literally get my arms around a motorcycle. I’ve two little grandsons now and you never know, I’ve met teen grandkids of older mates who are building a car with gramps (Midget). Maybe we’ll do a bike project in just a few years, perhaps a small engined dirt bike (if the oldest’s mum tolerates the idea, which she might not!). Precious memories. Enjoy your cars, whatever you do.
@@GT380man We still do mess around with cars now, he had his defender rebuilt badly, so we have been sorting the problems out with that, Not sure if i could tackle another rebuild like that with him, due to his age. He is pushing 70, and he just sort of wants to stand there now, while i do the job.
oh you really did a super awsome job , some people dont know how time consuming heart breaking and hard it can be doing this type of resto can be almost soul destroying more power to your elbow sir love the vids
Thanks John, I do like the Tickfords, A Tickford Capri would be a dream car I think! Plenty of standard Mini's around so nice to do something different, Cheers mate!
I’ve only just seen this video. A young chap that used to live across the road from us in Sunderland had a mini like this. His was a heavily customised one (it even had a tv in it). His name was (is) Nigel Olsen . He is Elton John’s drummer for over 50 years!
That first line had me choking on my brew 😂
So glad you found your way to my feed!
Thank you very much man very kind! Glad you're enjoying the videos 🙏🏼
Looks class and you have done a hell of a job on the paint. Looking forward to seeing more of it.

What a great looking little car just subscribed after seeing the Vauxhall van so looking forward to seeing more 👍
to be exact the grille is from a Vauxhall victor FD, and in my opinion it needs the VX490 cross as well
Had me on the first line 😂

Agreed, Please return the front end to standard 1275 GT timeless.
Mine had round lights. Standard White with black decals.
