Sure it is. You could make ambient beds of sound and then do Wish You Were Here blues riffs all over it. Or Robin Trower leads, or Chris Duarte riffs. Many possibilities I would think.
Anthony Childs perhaps for guitar players, but I play bass. If I explored the sonic terrain rather than holding down foundational grooves so guitar players can do what they want I’ll never get called to play again. 😂
Agreed! This demo is more musical than many others I’ve watched. Many of the others dive into lots of weird noises which I don’t personally find very useful, but you were able to draw a lot of cool musicality out of it. Great work!
DAMMIT!! I watched and listened to them all...every last clueless knob-spinning mess....I understood the features....I heard all the bleep-bloop things....I got the sand-in-my-ears granularity. And whilst it sounded lovely and fun I just couldn't hear the musical application of what it did in more than 10% of the demos. Skipped it. Got a Blooper and Thermae. THEN this video comes on as part of a playlist and my ears are opened. Hands down this is THE best demonstration of the application of this pedal to musical (to my ears) applications. Bit late to the party but I think I'm in the mood now, thanks for the demo :)
Thanks for the kind words on video, I really appreciate it! I gotta say, I also really enjoy my thermae, it’s my favorite analog delay. I haven’t tried a blooper yet though, seems cool.
The format you use to demo and explain this pedal is genius. Bravo my man , this is one hell of a pedal . I own it and have seen a bunch of YT vids but your video is the best hands down . Cheers Barit⭕️ne Cult
I just got mine in and this video was immensely helpful. Thank you! I also just got the CT5 recently as well as the blooper and thermae (kinda losing my shit during quarantine) and wow. While I love electronic music, I do more that in a DAW, but these little boxed vst's really inspire me with their immediacy - and it's nice to break away from screens after working from home all damn day. Thermae vid was also great! Thanks again!
"sometimes it reminds me of a certain counting pedal" currently having that "counting pedal" looping before this MOOD while watching this video and follow your guide.
Like a freakin' VCR that never had the time set, that low battery warning drove me crazy ;^) 13:47. Great video. I have had the MOOD for a while now and had some fun, but this video gives me a lot more information to get into it more. Thanks!
I use pedals much the same way you use this. Just get something going and get lost in them...with or without loopers. I would LOVE this for my ambient stuff at home and for worship band at church. Definitely my next pedal purchase. Thank you!
I’m pretty sure that reverb on the OBNE side is a variation or replica of the Sunlight reverb. Sounds so similar on the end jam when you give a realistic idea of how you use the pedal. It’s so similar. Yet another great demo from you!!
Never heard of that one, I’ll have to check it out. Glad you liked that part. I think it’s the o it video I made with pure improve and no loops that I worked on.
Also, can't wait to try the MOOD with Count to 5 and the new OBNE Signal Blender parallel mixer. Or Infinite Jets... I might get sucked down the rabbit hole
I own this pedal. It's a great intro / outro / interlude pedal if you know what I mean. I don't know why I am so intrigued by pedals like this. Always have been. They're fun to get you thinking outside of the box, but not very practical for live use (at least the drolo side isnt, unless you are experimenting on stage, which is cool too). It's not the type of pedal that you can use to write a song and then play it live in a week just simply because the loop side is always listening so you can't really recreate loops. I think it'd be the perfect "weird shit" pedal if it had a dipswitch to actually control the loop somehow
That’s a great point you brought up there. There is so much randomness in this pedal, maybe you can never achieve twice the same thing which can be an issue is you intend on creating songs with it.
Drolo side does not repeats twice the exact same thing, that's the game. Yet, the atmosphere is exactly the same... so, you can write "the mood" of a song, yet not the exact notes...
@@aBunchOfPedals I had a SLÖ and while it had really great sounds, I found it redundant to other pedals I had (Ventris, BigSky, OBNE verbs), so I ended up selling it. Definitely a cool pedal, but nothing new to me, unfortunately.
tremelo68 That makes sense: I’ve watched the videos and it sounds pretty average to me. Well designed in terms of hitting the ambient focus but the overall sound is pretty 2016.

Curious to see how you compare this one to Blooper when that time comes.. I got an impression that this one is more immediate somehow. That It is easy to just play around with it, while blooper is a bit more to learn.
they're both loopers, but I would say that they are very different pedals. Sure, you might be able to hit some comparable settings, but really they are built for very different sound manipulation techniques. I could see these working together to make very interesting soundscapes (or noise!).
Doug They’re not the most intuitive thing, and aren’t terribly easy to adjust while playing, or in dim light, but if you spend some time with it, it will all fall into place. The manual isn’t all that clearly written, either, and leaves out some important details that would have been helpful to initially know.
Love the sounds! Although not quite the pedal that’s useful for a blues gig. 😂
Mono Bass gold

Mono Bass LOL! Bass players are people too, damnit!!!
Best Mood demo video.
Thanks homie, nice to see these comments years later 👍
I was able to get one, and I’m preparing but nobody explains it good enough and play cool tones like you. Thanks!
@@dcastillogzzmuch appreciated 😊. Glad the video was helpful, it’s a cool pedal for sure.

hi, Where do you get those angled jacks? They're cool!
I think this is the best demo for the mood on UA-cam--keep coming back honestly. Great job!
Christ Wilson Hey thanks dude, I really appreciate that. I’m kinda glad it took me a while to finish it because I got super comfortable with it.
One of the best mood demos. Really helped me with the env setting
Thanks! I really love hearing that some of these videos are actually helpful and informative.
With each different MOOD demo, I slowly wrap my head around this complex, amazing and extremely expensive gadget. Great demo!
Albert De Castro Thanks! It did take me a little while to fully understand it. That’s why I waited so long to make the video. I’m glad it helped :)
All that's left is to buy it! Not yet but very soon... weddings are expensive lol
Really cool demo! 🙏
Thanks :)
I'm so glad we got closure on the whole low battery thing there at the end! :)

That ending guitar jam is right down my alley . Nice stuff .
Ordered mine a while ago and still waiting.

Great video! The MOOD is such a crazy pedal!
Eric Merrow Thanks 👍. I honestly love this thing. It’s the perfect pedal for getting lost for hours.
Give me all the MOOD demos. Just love this pedal.
sp33 there certainly is a lot of them
That last clip sounded like a frog with the hypnotoad drone in the background. Lol.
That’s all I use my pet frogs for these days
Very nice demo indeed! Of course I saw when the Volca dies... :-)

I could see you having it setup for a specific song on a setlist and activate it when it's time.

Dale Cutler That’s awesome dude, the elektron stuff looks so fun!
Hey man - can you set the Mood to do infinite repeats? Like loop the same phrase continuously while you tweak the controls?
AwakeFM Yea for sure! That’s what the Mood does. It grabs a snippet of Audi and just plays it’s on repeat.
What is that guitar patch cable called? Looks really thin and flexible, would like one.
I hear a hint of Slowdive at the 8:20-ish mark.
Great video. I'm wanting to buy one but they're apparently scarce at the moment, so I'm torturing myself watching demos ha ha

I just wish I understood the dip switches. I just don't.

@@CymbalsOnly A year later from that post... yeah, I agree. I get it now. But I choose to use MIDI to have more control vs. the dips.
Love this pedal, inspired me to do an album mostly based around it! Check it out on Spotify, Against the Other by Dan Johnson. 😍
I really like what is happening in this album
Daniel Cortez thanks man 😊
Im debating on this or a blooper- just wondering is it possible to reverse your loop at half speed through the drolo side?
Yes you can..Tape mode has a reverse..and then just lower the clock speed..
Sync to midiclock?
I’m like 99% sure but you should have a look at the manual just to be safe 👍
