@@aBunchOfPedals I'll be honest. I'm likely to use either as a straight up delay most of the time only using the clever features every now and then. Which do you think is more suited to that?
@@Grant_Ferstat If you don’t want to spend a lot of money then the tonal recall would be perfectly fine. The thermae has some cool pitch shifting features though and the modulation is awesome. If you want to see another cool, straight up delay... check out the Demedash T-120.
Pickwick666 Thanks, that’s really nice of you to say. I try to make them more instructional than anything else. Kinda like a video manual for people like me :)
This is the best vid I've seen for RKM, I love your sounds and this is super helpful as guide to conjure the possibilities of this magical pedal. Thank you.
Thanks for the review. Emotions, musicality and inspiration :) And, of course great knowledge. Thanks to Your reviews I am going to change my TimeLine for another delay. What could You recommend for ambient textures with synths and Acoustic instruments - Tonal Recall or Pladask Tåken? All the best!
You're welcome :) Well the TR has more of a mellow sound. The Tåken can do some pretty cool stuff with the two "playheads" that the TR can't do. The TR has a lot more control with CV and MIDI though so if you're into that it might be a good choice.
@@aBunchOfPedals how do you like Thermae compared to the RKM? The pitch shifting on Thermae seems absurdly cool as does the LFO knob. But how does it compare with basic analog delay, w/ and w/o modulation?
Henry Robertson Thermae hands down. Even if you overlook the pitch shifting (which is super fun)... I like the modulation on the Thermae better. It sounds more random.
It's great to watch a video where I can really hone in on how this SOUNDS as distinct from what it does..
Thanks for checking it out! I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the video. You should check out the Thermae, it’s like the tonal recall on steroids.

Excellent demo, very melodic playing and super clear and didactic approach

Henry Robertson Thank you for the kind words, I appreciate that :)
First of your videos I've seen! Love it!
You've got something good going here! Looked a few of your other videos too, Great work!!!!
Thanks for the positive comment. It makes me happy to know people are feeling it.
This is the first time I’ve ever heard one of thease pedals. It sounds beautiful. Guess I can now justify the price. I love it.
Do you own one now and was/is it worth its price?
Thumbs up before I even watched it. By now, I just know.
Right on!
Makes me feel like a jellyfish just swimming in the ocean deep....
well thanx a lot, i thought i was done buying pedals....
Sorry :P
for a moment i thought you were about to play We Lost the Sea "A Gallant Gentleman"
Dude! I just listened to that song, it's cool. Thanks for the new music :)
@@aBunchOfPedals What you're playing sounds like Oceansize 'Music For A Nurse'
Talisman _83 Never heard of that band before, I’ll check them out!
@@aBunchOfPedals pick up Effloresce, their debut!
Talisman _83 Will do!

Weird, mine doesn't generate noise like that as you turn the tone up.
HuterDerSchwelle That’s pretty nice actually. Maybe they were calibrated differently? The Thermae ended up replacing this one for me.

Great Demo! Did you play the old tonal recall?
I played one a while ago and from what I understand the newer blue knobs delays are a lot different.
aBunchOfPedals ok, i play the blue knob and i don't know if i want to update to the new one
Well, if you like then it then stick with it!
Sounds like Steve Wilson
Damn, that dude is really good. Thanks for some new music :)
Awesome pedal, Reminded me alot of the stuff Steve does with Porcupine Tree.
Gibson hasn't issued you a cease and desist order yet?
lol for what?
@@aBunchOfPedals Sorry... not intended for your amazing video. But who knows? Maybe they will at some point :))
@@PolaOpposite haha no reason to be sorry.... I just don’t get it?
prrrrretty noisy
Yea, it is compared to the original version
In Britain this costs $633. Lol. The Catalinbread Belle Epoch Deluxe does way more, sounds better, and is just over half the price.
Yikes! Well at least your money is worth more than ours. Just snag a used one from reverb.
i didnt even realize its not stereo. thats an instant fail.
This demo was heavily “inspired” by Knobs....
jakesdaddy08 Well, hopefully you found something useful in it.
lol great response
You do it better, honestly.
Chris DiGiuseppe Thanks man, I really appreciate the compliment :)
Chris DiGiuseppe I second this! Knobs is great but does not really “show” the pedal off. Just does his famous riff with it over and over.
