Blooper is the most fun and inspiring pedal I've ever owned. I absolutely adore mine. I'm currently making an album that literally wouldn't exist without this pedal. This is a great demo of it as well
This seems like an awesome tool to create a soundtrack for a movie or game with, especially the sounds you got from just touching the cable were amazing. Also really great video overall, this basically sold me on the pedal even though it's very far removed from any kind of music I make (so far).
Montreal Assembly Count to 5 says hello. i alwyas wanted one, but no chance so i'm gonna get one ot this. your steel part reminded me of friends of dean martinez.....beautiful!
i've been using the blooper in conjunction with the mood since it launched and it's such an incredible idea box - always happy to see how others use it
Well worth $500 and mono is completely fine because the signal just goes into all of my stereo effects so it works out great and I also have a stereo Looper in my chain as well but not everyone has that I guess
@@BennJordan if Perfect Circuit can get you a CXM1978, I would love to hear your creative stream with it and your thoughts on the algos. Pretty please:)
Benn: "The sampler mode is of little to no use to me, personally." Also Benn: Almost suffocates to death in a secluded burning forest to get ambient samples. ok.
I've been ogling the Blooper for some time now. The electronics shortage kept me from buying one outright, since I didn't want to put myself on 6-week wait list...at least not yet.
best part of the video hands down is the duckies.....the music is ok....i guess... =P (rockin' it!)....the degradation you get on the repeats is really nice!
Also, sadly it's not carried by perfect circuits but I think even just for a livestream, having the guy from nonlinear circuits on. He's the guy behind the famous sloths module, but he has some crazy stuff. Like a squid axon simulator eurorack module, who doesn't need one of those!? Seems like just your level of silly, science, and synths (see what I did there?) I think it would be a fun stream or video hearing you and him chat!
As soon as I saw the out-of-focus background on the first frame I said to myself: _this man is shooting anamorphic_ - there's just those slightly elongated out-of-focus bits that are distinct signifiers. Could you tell us what lens you were using to shoot anamorphic?
It looks like Benn is shooting with the black magic pocket cameras that are EF or MFT which narrows it down a lot. EF: Atlas Orions 2x anamorphics MFT: Sirui 1.33x anamorphics Could be other potential ones with adapters and tinkering but those seem like the most likely :) Edit: Also noticed there weren’t any blue streak flares or other characteristics (hard to tell without consistent out of focus rendering or racks.). Looks like it might be good ol spherical Canon glass (based on his patreon BTS video) and some aspect cropping in post.
@@JxhnNichxlls Atlas Orions are great (if a bit of a crapshoot in terms of quality control - I've had some on shoots with uneven sharpness), but hella expensive. Then there are PL mount adapters for EF... EDIT: Now that you mention it, it could be 1.33x, from looking at the backgrounds and the seemingly big depth of field.
@@vinylarchaeologist Atlas lenses are fine, they’re super popular and get beat the hell up from how often they get rented so you probably had some severely worn in lenses or a lens with a stigmatism. Just don’t shoot faster than T2.8 and things will be relatively sharp. They’ve got some new ones with controlled flare and updated coating coming out which seem nice. Also still gonna be the cheapest lenses to rent on the market for anamorphic. PL to EF (and vice versa) doesn’t usually work because of hyperfocal distance and rear flange being inconsistent between lenses and the EF sensor. Atlas does have EF swap outs from PL though so that makes it more likely. I myself am trying to find a solution for PL to MFT since that ones a major pain in the ass it seems for consistency (currently adapting super 16 glass to PL to MFT for the 4k update) I do think it might just be the canon 28mm he has for streamlining purposes on his 6k since Sirui only has lenses for Sony E and MFT. Big dof was probably stepped down without NDs and the chromatic aberration was pretty strong. Either way, hope this helps out fellow cinematographers!
@@JxhnNichxlls The Atlas Orion we had problems with (a 40mm) was on its first job. It had never been rented out before. The rest of the bunch (65, 100) were fine. My 1st AC managed to source out a second set, and that 40 was much better. Poor rental company had to pay the rent for the replacement lens, but that's how things go...
@@vinylarchaeologist ahh dang that’s a bummer. I work at a rental house and the ones we have had mostly get beat up so badly from constant usage. Also not a huge fan of the 32mm because of the distortion 🤮
Is that Sound waves and light waves book worth buying without a deep understanding of physics? I have a good understanding of acoustic phenomenon, but Ive always been fascinated by the ways that those principles apply to other areas of physics. I know that I'll get lost the second it gets deep into the math though lol

I agree
Lovely clip!
Amazing! makes me want one, these next gen pedals are getting so interesting, especially for soundscaping, I'm ordering this one right now!

The Blooper is cool but now I really want that Empress and a lap steel.
Oh and that kalimba
i am very glad to already own one of those blue pricey jewels. never - never ever - i will sell it. its magical.

Very powerful Benn! Please do an album on this study!
Very dreamy. Very atmospheric. Nice cinematographic choices too.
The "low battery" on the volca FM brought so much anxiety !
But an excellent exploration of the blooper nevertheless :)
I'm glad that wasn't just me!

Loved the jam with the animals outside!
Request: I’d be interested to hear your opinion on the Chase Bliss / Meris CXM 1978 reverb.
Love these dsp peddles but seeing the empress chained to the blooper made me wonder: why can't we have digital IO on our guitar peddles yet?
you mean like this?

Great Video! Wish there were more like this!
That little undiscovered colors kalimba riff was cute
When the battery on the Volca is empty, Benn just decides to use his finger as an instrument 😂
this channel is so good . Thank you Ben.:)
wasn't having the best day, and im not a fan of 'UA-cam demos' but that intro vibe was on point. Cheers homie
Beautifully Pastoral ... love the pedal steel atmospheres ..
goddam now I want a lap steel
I've been playing nearly a year now. It. Is. Hard. 😅

I loved that pedal steel bit. Sounded very Daniel Lanois.

I literally bought a Blooper 3 days ago. My wallet is empty but I'm happy.
Hell yes I have been waiting for weeks to see these god damn ducks. I guess the pedal's ok too.
Great vid ! Love loops !
Omg gorgeous
Never seen such a big steel pedal..
What if it falls on the ducks?
Please place it on the ground so the ducks are safe...atmo it can fall on them...
Yes Benn, the people have spoken. Your music studio is now a duck habitat, please reorganize accordingly.
Man, i totally blew this thing off when i first saw it. Now i gotta get one
Alright Benn, I think we all knows it's time to cut the bullshit and finally make this a duck only channel!
All ducks all the time baby!! 😎 🦆
And what about the haircut? You handsome pirate....

I am not a big fan of guitars and pedals videos guy but, I have to say, you made a great video in all the aspects of it :)
How did you power the pedals when recording in the backward?
BENN - How did you do the modulation, what were the sound sources for We the dispelled?????????
that track is ace, and a few others on that album for sure
don't know half the stuff you doo but I always wonder how I can do this stuff using just fl and pluginz. And Yeah, I enjoy it oh so much!
Seems inspiring. Price is a bit ouch.
what aspect ratio is this vid? niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice
Good God, how much equipment do you have??
Thanks Ben, from Ben
what's that guitar? nice video
The link to Perfect Circuit does not work.

Whowhat kalimba is that?!
Thank yo for starting out this video with telling us that it's not really a looper! Good info to have right away. Can avoid this product.
