That ‘tank’ weighs 9000lb/4100kg. At a guess the crowns weigh 1600kg. In a 10g accident the car would have 16t of force going through the cage so 4.1t of stress is nothing on a roll cage.

yeah, whilst I'd be interested for Sam's Wisdom, the majority of the channel probably wouldn't care, proper paint repair/maintenance is a tedious quite boring process that doesn't make fun content. it'd only interest those interested in working on their own vehicles.
Gotta strap yourself into that seat doing stuff like this brother. Especially with the doors not securing shut, it could be catastrophic if the ripsaw ended up on its side or upside down

I'd look at Ty fabricating some bash plates to go on the nose of the Ripsaw, or some bar work that act as scrub rails. We've all just witnessed how tough his cages are, I'm sure he could work something out

Not really a tank. And certainly not the weight of a tank. The ripsaw weighs about 10 000lbs, a tank, say Abrams M1 weighs 120 000lbs. A tank would absolutely flatten the Vic.
Dividing the 10 000lbs between 2 tracks, there's only 5000lbs on a single roll bar and that's not really crazy is it?

ALL tanks are suppose to have at least a few battle scars. Man, there's no denying the strength & integrity of the roll cages in those Crown Vic's. I'm impressed with the Duramax RipSaw AND those roll cages!
Well over 9,000 lbs and the cages didn't even budge... Way to go Ty and whoever else may have helped build those cages!
The endless smiles this thing brings I think is well worth whatever price you paid! Cleetus you are one hell of a dude and the world is blessed to have you!
He got a really good deal on it. With all the videos, he's earned it back and then some. With extra work put into it, and all the notoriety, he could even sell it for more than he paid. Now other UA-camrs make money off it. That's the way to take care of each other.

You guys got the Ripsaw Rippin’! One thing I’m noticing is the rear sags. I’m guessing it has the same weight springs on all six shocks. Considering the rear has the most weight. It would need heavier springs in the rear. Prob stagger all of them, stock front, harder mid and lil more harder rear.
With that I’m sure with scales and some phone calls you can get the proper springs and prob ensure the shocks are valved properly still.

It wouldn’t be a whole lot cheaper for them to make a little one. They made some tracked platforms for people in wheelchairs so they could still get out and go hunting and such. I’d bet even those would cost $50k or more.

It was so great seeing the lad's reaction when they hit the gas in the Ripsaw - it obviously went a lot faster than they expected. Also I know people want to give Ty all the props but any roll cage you install in your car should do this. That's their purpose that's why they are designed and regulated it's why you need one to run a 10 sec car or faster. The design and thicknesses and weld techniques is the result of many many generations of motor enthusiast who didn't have that. The most impressive part that TY contributed to here is his floor plates obviously didn't expect the cage to bend but the floor plates keeping it in place and bracing enough of the chassis to keep the car together means those welds were strong and the plates well designed. Metal tubing not bending isn't something to give credit to a welder for now is it?

One thing I've learned about the thing, is: You NEVER let up on the throttle when it's in the air, or you will do a nose dive you will regret.
