When you're ripping a track vehicle never let off the throttle on landing or when you're about to cross a ditch. Letting off makes the nose dip hard and bad stuff happens. Slow down before an obstacle and accelerate through to keep the nose up.
Yeah exactly. I was wondering why they were doing that. My friends would do the same thing when they borrowed my snowmobiles. It should be common sense, but I guess it's not for everyone. Kinda rough on the vehicle to land that way too. Everything is forced to instantly accelerate on impact all while under extra weight with the shocks still compressed from having just fallen... i feel like stuff must be grinding in there. . Atleast you dont have to worry about leaning into turns on a ripsaw. I remember getting into arguments with ex girlfriends because they kept leaning away from the turns and constantly tipping the sled or even actually rolling it. I remember shouting "lean the way I lean!! Are you trying to kill us?". I still think id prefer a snowmobile to a ripsaw tank. Idk where id ride a ripsaw and snowmobiles can be ridden on the side of any snowy highway or any frozen lake, or on the thousands of miles of trails they have in the upper peninsula of michigan. Fun fact, the U.P. of michigan has more snowmobile trails than the rest of the united states put together. I accidentally ended up in canada once though because the borders are not marked whatsoever lol. We got suspicious when we stopped seeing american tags on snowmobiles, but didnt know we were in canada until we saw maps and flags of canada in a bar we had stopped at lol.

@@negativeindustrial That's your own priority. I paid 1200 cash for my 1st snowmobile and 1600 cash for my 1st car and 1500 cash for my 2nd car. Im not at all a wealthy guy. I just like snowmobiling so i spent less money on my car to be able to afford it. Its not about being rich, it's about prioritizing what you spend your money on and saving up for what makes you happy. If youve ever been to Detroit youll know what im talking about. Most peoples cars are worth more than their houses. They arent rich.... nice cars are just what people happen to prioritize over there (for obvious reasons).
The average person in america could buy a used snowmobile with just a portion of their tax return. Snowmobiles are not just for rich people. Rich people suck at snowmobiling. Like they are terrible at it. They go out and spend like 20,000 dollar on a snowmobile they cant even ride properly and then hold up traffic on the trails because they are so slow.

My brother lives in Bushnell and has a cheaper version of this and as long as it remains insured it can go on the street. Only bad part is no A/C so you’re going to definitely get swamp ass but it’s still really fun.
Alberta is pretty flexible like that too. If your project vehicle goes, stops, turns, has head n tail lights, a horn and some wind protection in front of the driver she's good to go.

This has been and will be the reason I continue to enjoy his content. Subject matter of the video be damned the man tries to do right by his fans, friends and family. That in itself is rare nowadays. That matched with good production quality, what more could one ask for?

@@KeepItReal2024 In Eureka, CA. in the 70's a tow company had a half track call "FLAT FOOT" it was used to pull vehicles of the beaches. It could do 55 on the freeway.
Just a hint, hit the parking brake in the tow rig. The back and forth is going to shear that parking pin when loading.

It's basically all theirs. He may be the one with the channel but it's all those guys as a team that everyone watches to see. Them as a team is what makes it not just a single person. So they all should have the opportunity to drive everything they all work on everything and they all add to the entertainment that made so many people want to watch and I'm sure that's not lost on any of them.

George has to be much happier with Cleetus. George did all the porting for heads and intakes at fasterpromes. He was stuck in that tiny room covered in aluminum chips for hour's each piece. Plus Cleetus on ocation treating the guy's to these field trips nice bonus when things don't break.
He got more or less fired because he went to race week with Cleet.

I started my own channel making funnny,family friendly content with the goal of opening any sort of race track in Massachusetts because we don’t have one. garret inspires me because he picked racing over being a lawyer and I see how happy he is. If you like to drive check out Vaughn Gittin or Chelsea Denofas channel. I learned a lot from them too. They are pro “Drifters”
My favorite part isn't when he gets a million dollar toy and says we. It's when it gets broken buy someone else and he STILL says we, no finger pointing, just us. You are the man cleet, dont ever change
But they did break it. And it's their fault that they barely even glanced at it before using it - they had not previously removed the cover to check anything, even though they knew that the machine had been abused and not maintained.
Seeing the ripsaw makes me miss being a 19K tanker. Rule of thumb was for every hour of fun on the tank, you can expect 3 hours of maintenance but damn they are fun to drive!

@@ericnager2612 I wouldn't say cheap, king suspension is one of the leaders if not the leader in off-road suspension components. Least in my experience. Then again your jumping a tank, which is a problem all itself.
Cleetus, I'm a garage door contractor and I'm telling ya, you gotta get the limits fixed on your door openers. Shouldn't have to press the stop button on the way up
I did door opener radio, digital code etc. You have to set the limits in the LIFT. Both up and down. We had openers that broke Garage floors because the Down limit allowed the Screw drive opener to screw the concrete into submission. occasionally killing homeowners. I am not lying. Genie screw drives, was number one, the most powerful in the mid 80s. The Railroad double door openers and 747 hanger openers were above scale just a bit...

@@cheathamtv4356 Na, it did that because if you watch closely it hit a small rise with the rear as it landed which pitched the front down. They are actually balanced very well.

@@warrenmichael918 no. Only 3 in the USA out of 15 sold. Doubt they sold more than one or two to the military for experimenting. The ripsaw never was bought for anything other than testing. Though H&H got bought by textron and they are using a version of the ripsaw chassis for a new vehicle, called the M5 unmanned mini-tank, with a turret housing a 30mm cannon. The US Army is currently testing them to see if they are something they'd want, and Textron has been advertising it at trade shows

I just have to say man, I'm working super-hard toward my dreams. Of moving to Florida and doing race car stuff in the next couple years. Realistically hopefully the end of this year, or beginning of next year. Up here nobody likes my cars. Even though they're pretty quick, and I'm sick of working for the man and my nine-year-old son and I are turning a shuttle bus into a home so we can drive across the country and do race car stuff all year in Florida. Turning it into a mobile welding school.
The point of saying all this is that I am trying so hard and working so hard and failing miserably so far in my dreams. I got the race cars and the bus, but the finances are hard. And watching your channel, brings me levity everyday. You guys always have me laughing and I got a nice chance to live vicariously through you. To see those long-lasting and beautiful friendships you've developed over the years, i long for. I've been watching you since you were 1320. And you guys seem like a great group.
You guys and PFI speed are probably some of the most wholesome guys in the automotive community on the internet. I just wanted to say thank you for all the years of entertainment. And for the motivation to keep pushing toward my dreams no matter how far away they seem.

Month later: Fastest tank lap at the freedom factory.
Another month later: Can the tank finally cross the pond?
Some of the power output they get out of these engines, I wouldnt doubt it gets some upgrades and he runs it down a track. Would love to see a big hoss intake on it with dual turbos
Honestly don't think you could get much more out of it without a LOT of headaches. They come with a built DMax that makes between 600-700HP, and they can certainly make much more than that of course, but look at where the radiator is. Cooling has to be VERY restricted in these, the original intent has always been for Ripsaw to be a military vehicle after all with the civilian versions basically being equivalent to a Hummer H1(it does have creature comforts, but... I mean, these things still ride and drive like a raw piece of military equipment, just with leather seats lol), and the component packaging reflects that.
The other issue is that these things weigh 10,000lbs and have a lot of mechanical drag with the tracks(not to mention turning). The Allison 1000 is completely built of course, but I don't know if that trans architecture(a pickup truck trans, Allison name or not) would hold up over the long term with more horsepower(big fat diesel power at that) on the other side of the equation. A little different set of problems than diesel drag & pulling trucks, this thing is going to spend a significantly longer duration of time being abused than those do.
All of that said... I'd like to see them prove me wrong! LOL
@@RyTrapp0 The trans is certainly missing upgrades that you can see from the outside. You can also see the engine still has stock up pipes. My truck that had the same stock engine is 6200 lbs, and can scale at 10k with no issue. So in stock form, it can handle the weight. But I agree on all the extra drag.

A friend of mine many years ago was a military reservist, his job was loading tanks on trains. He said “always let the tankies drive onto the wagon deck.” I was reminded of why at 13:56 . This type of driving used to make the MBT’s “fall off” the wagon lol.

I laughed so hard my side hurts! The most fun job I ever had was testing construction equipment, then improving it with our R&D department. I got so good at it they gave me a job in the development section. That kept me away from the testing. It was a blast.

Just a piece of advice antifreeze is actually somehow Flammable I have plenty of experience on cars just over 20 years and I had no idea about that. On my 01 Durango the heater hose burst and and was leaking on my after market Exhaust headers while I was beating on it on the highway and next thing I know I started over heating I pulled over started smoking I wasn't worried because it was a hose and I opened the hood and it was on fire. I put it on with a water bottle and I so the busted hose new thing I learned .
