Completely agree about the design of the bar! I like the way it looks, but as far as a mount for a bag or backpack its hard getting something to securely attach
Yeah. I ended up attaching the sport rack to the sissybar after I shot this video. Really didn't want to do that but at least now I can tie things down and ride without periodically reaching back to make sure my bag hasn't fallen off. They really need to make a 21" with holes on the detachable bracket like they make for the Sportster.
I'm not strapping any of my Tumi to the bike to find out! LOL I fine tuned things a couple of hours after I shot this vid. Put the sport rack on the sissybar and ordered a small Enduristan dry bag to augment the Deadbeat. I think I'm set for now.
Thanks for doing this video. Like you, I have been looking at these bags for a while now for some short 2-3 day trips. No real reviews or overviews anywhere. At this point, I don't know if I will go this route after seeing this. Very disappointing.
Thanks for watching. At this point, I've altered my packing plans for the trip but am still going to use the Deadbeat. I'll drop a full review video when I get back next week. The quality of the bag, so far, seems really nice. It's just much less useful for me without the MOLLE that I expected.
@@mustbescud after this I ended up buying a Conelys USA Sissy bar backpack. It's very nice, but definitely a few things I would have preferred they done differently on it. Can hold quite a bit and attaches to the sissy bar easily. Unfortunately Conley's USA closed down for good a couple months after I got it. So the only place you're going to find it is used somewhere. The closest thing to it at this point is the newly released backpack from Kuryakyn. it actually has more of the design features I would like to see on my Conley's. The Biltwell stuff is really nice. Pricey but nice 👍
Is that a Ends Cuuoio side bag? If so I have some of their stuff on my 48. Beautifully crafted products. Shame about the sissy bag bar. I just use a regular ruck sack on my sissy bar tied down with bungie cords, Thanks.
Yep, that's an Ends Cuoio bag. Love it. Got it in a couple of weeks ago. I ordered mine with the lock (as you can see) and the quick release. I may end up going back to using my old rucksack instead of the Deadbeat. Haven't made up my mind yet.
Thanks! The tank bag is great. I bought that about a year ago to use on my Iron 1200. It's the Cortech Super 2.0 low profile tank bag. You can strap it on or use the magnets. I just use the built-in magnets. Great Egret uses the same bag and I think he's been using it for a couple of years.
I went with that bag because of the way is lashes to the bar and the MOLLE that I expected. I'll drop a full review next week when I get back from the rally.
That's nuts. Thanks for hanging in there. I wasn't aware that Mindshift released that product. I've been using Think Tank for eons. I will definitely give that a look. I have a cube that came with my Wandrd pack but the dividers are really thin.
@@withPercy Not sure whats up with the comments if I put a mention of my IG account it disappears lol. Anyhow there is a picture of on my account page look for a picture of an HD backpack there are three photo together.
As an interesting follow up that you posted on you IG that they deleted your review of the product from their site...that’s some shady shit right there.
It really is. I spot checked about 20 of their product pages and almost all of the reviews are stellar. The few lower rated reviews that I saw had comments from Kuryakyn clarifying how the item should be used, etc.. TBH... my review pointed out that it really was a quality bag. Just that people have certain expectations when you advertise that MOLLE is a feature. And they weren't meeting that expectation. Also reiterated the suggestions that I made in the video to improve the product. So it wasn't like I was dogging them out or anything.
Not only do I hate your beautiful bike - I do love your videos - they are so helpful!
LMAO! Thanks! I really appreciate both points!

That would be great. I have the rack too. I don't love the looks but it's only to get me from point a to b with stuff so I can live with it
I am looking at the freeloader version of this bag. But i dunno if i should just pay double the price and just get a saddlemen S3500 Tactical.
Check out the Vagabond bag. I have probably 15k miles on that bag and it is excellent. It’s Kuryakyn’s version of the S3500.
@@withPercy thanks!
Still a good looking back all things considered, I've found that non-motorcycle luggage works just fine once strapped down.

Thanks. I think they missed it on the Molle too. I am NEITHER a deadbeat or a freeloader...so the names really turned me off at the get, lol.

Which one did you end up going for? The Biltwell one looks nice.

@@withPercy You might like to consider one of Ends Cuoio fork/tool bags, I have one, very useful and adds to that cruiser look.
I hope you have a good trip and look forward to seeing the vlogs! How about the tank bag? Do they stay on good?

The place for the drink is on the Freeloader
It feet’s an helmet ?
Your sissy bar could do with being taller. Biltwell EXFIL 80 is a really good sissy bar bag.
Looks good. Looks very secure.

You should have bought the "Freelancer". Ahahahahahaha
Anything would have probably been better. I’ve literally used this bag twice since I bought it.
hmm my comment disappeared 🤔
I noticed that and was going to track you down because the preview cut off after you mentioned a photo cube.

Hmm another one disappeared.
its the Mindshift Gear Stash Master 13L by Think Tank Photo.
for some reason if I mention my IG account it goes away. whatever.

Being Here Now, with Percy That’s why people watch UA-cam reviews cause overall they are more honest..
