My experience with the 4AllFamily Voyager Travel Refrigerator for Insulin and Meds. Does it work??
I put the 4AllFamily Voyager Travel Refrigerator for Insulin and Meds, as well as the Big Nomad, to the test on my last trip. Over 7,200 miles riding for 5 weeks in temps in the mid-90's to over 100 degrees. Here's my experience with those products.

    If you were happy replacing a GTS system, think how happy you would be to replace an older GT system like I did! I have ridden about 3k miles with the V2 on group rides and on a 1500 mile 4 day trip. I would definitely buy again. Yes, little quirks that will get fixed. The only serious issue as you discussed and that I experienced is the black screen of death. It dropped out on me while I was navigating in an unfamiliar area. When on group rides or trips, I now run CarPlay wired. While Soundstream is right that drops are an Apple/Android issue, the V2 software should handle a wifi drop more gracefully.

    The latest update is junk. Now it goes to loud fm static when you turn off and back on. Never should a update set you back. Now Ronnie has gotten nasty in some of his posts.

    • @withPercy
      @withPercy 22 дні тому

      I saw that after I did the update. I think they are going through some growing pains managing the software. Having owned and run a tech company, there are some solid principles that you need to have nailed down: - Own your product and your processes. Don’t let users push you off that. I actually applaud them for getting off the reactive track and focusing and managing their resources. Not doing that is a good way to sink a ship quickly. - Don’t overreact to user feedback. Listen. Analyze. Validate that it fits your vision. Reject it when it doesn’t. Incorporate validated feedback in your roadmap where appropriate. Then follow your processes. - Regression testing is your friend. Both automated and manual. That issue with the boot up to a non-tuned FM station should not have passed testing before releasing the update. Which leads us to… - Recovery. You need to have a means and process for rolling back when something doesn’t work. We should have had a way to rollback to the previous firmware. Or they should provide a hot fix for that specific problem. Even if that fix is to boot to the Home Screen and stop doing things like automatically checking for, and switching to, CarPlay or Android Auto. I’ve shed a lot of blood learning lessons, as most of us do. Have taken a lot of incoming fire from users as well. Hopefully they continue learning and evolving accordingly. I’m ok being on this journey with them as long as they are. As long as I don’t see the same mistakes being made repeatedly.

    YES! The app switching drives me frigging nuts! What a GARBAGE method. Give me the option to delete some useless sources. Or a quick home screen button where I can thumb over to one of the apps on the bottom. I had issues with my Cardo as well. Once I paired it as a GPS instead of a second phone or a bike, everything worked fine. Although my voice commands don't work when using the radio (they work fine on my Breakout when I'm just paired to my phone). Haven't tried to troubleshoot that aspect yet. My Google Maps generally works fine, but once in a while it hardcore freaks out and places me nowhere near where I'm actually at. I believe it's only at start up though, so your explanation is interesting. This is just a temporary minor annoyance anyway. I'll get the black screen crash maybe once a week with Android Auto, but yeah, it definitely does happen, even after the August update. Another little bug I have is that when on the home screen, the pause button for Android Auto will skip tracks instead pausing. It works just fine with Carplay though. Weird. On the whole, great unit, but it's definitely not without fault. And Soundstream has fixed some legit bugs over the couple months it's been out. Good update brother.

      @withPercy 23 дні тому

      I haven’t had any issues with that using the BT audio. I don’t use it a lot but, when I do, it’s proven to be reliable. It could be that people having problems are using a comms unit with an older BT chipset?

    Hello Percy, first of all, thank you for this video, very informative and instructive. Now, I already have the Oberon Levers, the AIRO, which are the ones with the hole cut out at the end of it. I see you have 12" Factory 47 Signature? handlebars installed, I am planning to install the 14" rise version of them, do you believe that I need to get a longer top clutch cable? Or can I get away with rerouting (if needed) the OEM one? On another note, should I replace all internal cabling and brake line for this handlebar's replacement? TIA, Cordially, H.

    • @withPercy

      Great question! BTW… I am going to be dropping a 10k mile review of the V2 next week. Be sure to check that out! As far as the notifications, I had a rear tire blowout on this last trip. I did not notice any alert pop up alerting me to a loss of air pressure. However, it could have been there but I just didn’t notice it in the moment. I don’t recall having been in another situation where I should have been notified of something (like low fuel). I’ve reached out to get clarification on this though. Hey since your comment was from not too long ago I thought you might see this, I used sugru on my mountain bike helmet (full face with a chin mount, I mainly ride downhill and I did crash on my chin which may or may not have impacted the chin mount, this was a long time ago though and I kept using the mount after the crash and it was still sticking fine) and yesterday while I was mounting my GoPro the whole piece of sugru just came off, it's been on there for about 15 months or so, I was wondering if this is normal that it just stops sticking or something after a while, how has yours held up ?

      @@withPercy yes I did clean it, pretty sure it has to be the crash that loosened it but still weird it didn't come off directly after

    Thanks for the video. I just purchased a Chin Mount and I was already planning to pull off the tape that they used. I am surprised that the tape fails because it is 3M VHB tape which is usually very reliable...but I go with the recommendations of so many Chin Mount users and I will use my own. I like this Sugru stuff...I have not tried it yet, but it seems like it would really bond well. My question is do you need to use so much? I don't want a big blob of that stuff hanging out, I want it to be clean like the tape would be. I was planning to use a strong spring loaded clamp to apply about 40 lbs of pressure and that is going to allow me to squeeze out that excess product and then use a soft nylon knife to clean up the edges all around the mount. Let me know if you think this will work or if it needs to be such a thick wad of Sugru. Thank you...and I love the design and graphics on your helmet!

      The 3M VHB comes in varying adhesive strengths. I’m not sure what strength they were shipping when I bought my mount. You definitely do not need to use as much Sugru as I used here. I typically like to go thick to push my GoPro out a bit forward on my helmets as I have to twist my cameras to take them off and on since I use a Ulanzi quick release adapter. Plus I like to have the camera a bit further out so that I can see part of the GoPro screen to confirm that it’s on and recording.

    Im happy to see that finally someone can post a negative comment about their product. I've run into a situation with their product being shipped being mangled during shipping, I've notified them of what the box looked like after they took nearly a year to get me my bag to me because I called nit because they finally got it shipped out. To finally get a box that looked like it was hit by every car from 2p-3p in the Garden State Pkwy until someone decided to get it off the road. I never got a reply back from RickRack. Very disappointing with his whole family involved.

    So, if a thief knows to look under the side cover to see if that plug is in the factory location. And if it's not, they know the siren is there and know what to unplug. I watched a video by Opa's Garage and his siren seems like a better idea AND it's cheaper!!! Although it takes more time and effort to install. But it's cool that your video shows how to stop that stupid chirp!

      No. The 12 was the first to have the BT audio feature.

    If you are planning to take the bike offroad. Gravel, bumps etc. than this device won´t help your phone. Trust me! 10 hours of intense gravelroads and my iPhone 11 Pro never became the same. The camera is wobbly and won't focus. Do NOT use this for serious offroading. (Or get a used iPhone for only the screen and GPS).

    Have the exact same helmet, thinking about thr photochromic visor as i only have the tinted and a clear . Both with pin lock , is it worth the money the visor ?

      I think it is. I’ve been on the road the last 4 weeks and have ridden in all types of conditions both day and night. The transitional aspects of the visor have made visibility issues a non-issue. Super convenient.

      @@withPercy appreciate the feed back . Unfortunately they're out of stock for the atlas version but should be back in with in a few weeks after speaking to them. I'm UK but I've put on a bid for another atlas on eBay and it comes with the photochromic visor and a few others so could end up with a better deal that way 🤞. Have a great day sir and ride safe but have fun 😊.
