This video is so good this track is now affectionately known as ‘orange crayon song’ to my 3 year old son. He adores this track and asks for it often. I used to dance around the kitchen to this when I was pregnant with him so I think he identifies with it on a subconscious level too, education starts early. Great video.
Funny always weirdly reminds me of cooler colors. Like I know they say Orange alot, but something about this track gives me like sea green in my head for some reason.
This is the best fan video for this track, because it embodies everything the track contains. The color orange, the counting, the children laughing and the general mystique of it. Great job, I can't get enough of watching this
@@chillbitz Yeah, I’m Petrol People (on my main account lol), I’ve been getting back into BoC these past few days; been meaning to listen to this album in full again at some point. Aquarius *might* be my favourite BoC track, actually.
I can smell the crayons in these clips ....nothing like getting a new box of Crayola crayons for Christmas as a kid. I got so excited when buying them for school supplies too. I still love the smell of a freshly opened box. :") Brings back memories.
Color Meaning: Meaning of The Color Orange. ... Orange is associated with meanings of joy, warmth, heat, sunshine, enthusiasm, creativity, success, encouragement, change, determination, health, stimulation, happiness, fun, enjoyment, balance, sexuality, freedom, expression, and fascination.
Ahhh!!! The old Sesame Street animations!! I have searched for more of these. Thank you. Like seeing a distant dream that I wasn’t sure if ever happened or not. One thing I find oddly haunting about those skits is the use of dark space in the back ground of the moving pieces. That detail has stayed with me in my dreams and more or less my subconscious ever since I was a kid in the 80s watching these on television.
Boards are some crazy dudes to make all of these songs. It's unbelievable sometimes. I'm so glad I found them during the time I was trapped (for 3 nights) at the Airport in Portugal.
Its always a good feeling seeing classic Sesame Street clips get their deserved recognition as honest to god masterpieces. The artistry and artists brought on for the show have hardly been matched, not to mention the lessons taught and curiosity fueled. Music pairs amazingly, but thats expected with Boards of Canada. Masters of their own.
I remember my girlfriend in college was an Aquarius. We had the best times together i swear. No worries and no pressure was on us. Every now and then i come back to this song and all i can think of is her
So funny...was watching Carl Sagan’s Cosmos, Episode 3 and the original version is featured in it. I was like this sounds so familiar, and then heard that baseline and it clicked! So cool BOC, the original Cosmos has gold for samples 🤙🏼
I've always associated BOC with anime in a really weird way, mostly because I grew up with all those lofi hip hop, downtempo, and chillout bumps that used to play on Adult Swim in the early 2000's, and Boards of Canada would occasionally be played right before the commercial breaks during a show like Samurai Champloo or something. And then someone made a fan video for Skyliner on UA-cam a loong time ago set to images from Spirited Away and the summery scenery just seemed to fit so well and remind me of Nujabes, Yoshihisa Hirano, or Susumu Hirasawa. So because of that weird association, the old man and the children's voices in this come off as English dub actors in an anime to me. I don't know what it is. Just sounds like a tiny old Japanese man watching kids play on a pier while eating an orange in a rundown part of town with a destroyed mech floating in the water. Feels like it could be something Hirasawa would have put together for Paranoia Agent right before something bizarre and creepy happens.
@@euphorbia8106 Man, I bet you felt really clever and proud of yourself when you left this comment modified from a shitty meme that ten billion people have used over and over again. Like, you actually read it over, and decided to press 'reply' anyway. Didn't even second guess how sheepish it makes you sound at all. Well done I love this video. I actually can remember seeing a lot of these clips on Sesame Street in the early/mid 80’s I think. This reminds me of a cool summer night, playing Sim City 4. Just staring at the screen, dealing with the advisors telling stuff you don't quite understand, making pretty intersections and underground highways thanks to 1000+ money trees... good times eh.
The watery sound for me is a grown up pouring a glass of orange squash at a summer fete or sports day in my childhood maybe even just a chill out in the garden

Probably, it’s been added to their official music video playlist
I thought the same by the end of it. It seems right down their alley.
Those first two chords are sublime.

I've just found the sample they've used and it made me appreciate this song way more. Btw the sample is: Galt MacDermot - Aquarius
Good spot. I know this song from the Simpsons and have had it stuck in my head for years.

This video perfectly reflects the track. Holy crap, I love it maybe more than the track itself...

One of the most awesome creative music videos i have ever seen in terms of the visual content :)
It’s from Sesame Street
this song plays in my head every time i eat an orange lol
And every time I turn on the news.
Fun fact it's possible the synth melody throgout is a very slowed down reverb pitch delay version of the synth heard throughout seven forty seven

Brilliant editing on this. And I forgot about the NYC painter character! So cool
I learned recently that in filmmaking, the orange is used to represent an incoming tragedy like a character death.
Wonder if that holds up here?
If it's the GODFATHER films or a tribute. Otherwise not necessarily.
