I think you did an outstanding job. I like seeing a guy use “common man” tools. 👍🏻
Thank you!

very good to tackle difficults projects like that ! For the forging part, i'd advise forging REALLY hot, like nearly when the sparks start to appear, and to keep your steel clean (when you hit the edge of your bar, the scale from the flats flake off, wich is basically cleaning off the oxides). Don't let scale accumulate, and don't let your steel burn (aka not letting the steel too close to the oxygen in your fire). Forging very hot turns the steel into a paste, it moves better, easier, and at welding heat you can do so much more !
Thank you for commenting! I was forging as hot as my forge would go😅 which isn’t quite as hot as I would like it to be.. but it’s a very cheap forge so I get what I paid for. I’m currently saving up for a more powerful forge and a real anvil. I’m not sure how much you know about anvils but i found two near me both in pretty rough shape, one being made in the U.S and one being of English origins. I was wondering which one would be better or if it doesn’t really matter?
I would highly Recommend making or buying a coal forge. one 10$ 40-lb bag from Tractor Supply will last up to a week of Forging for 5 hours a day but a propane forge will last about 6-8 hours strait Forging. @@NolansKnives

Machete is lookin' hella dope @NolansKnives! Now it needs a nice scabbard/sheath to complete the package!
Thanks for the compliment! I would love to make a sheath for it in the future! I could Possibly make another video on making one🤔

Жаль кромку лезвия не отковываете. Посмотрите уроки Леонида Архангельского. Много почерпнете
Thank you for sharing that! I will definitely check that out. As my skills improve I will also forge the bevels and use the hammer to shape out the profile more. Thanks for watching!

I’m sorry you feel that way! I definitely have a lot of room to improve and refine my craft!
