      This is a lovely sentimental comment. As a struggling/out of work actor myself, I often wish I had this kind of support from a fan base. But one really knows who I am anyways. Even doing theater projects, it was hard just to get my family out there to watch the shows. And I always pay for the tickets. Lol they do try though, but even before the pandemic, life was hard all around. Depression is a real bitch. But we have to just keep fighting.
      Sorry about the long rant of a comment. I appreciate your comment and just want to say thank for showing us all that good spirits still exist out there.

    I don't care for the term "situational depression." I dislike it because when people describe it that way, then comes this attitude of "you'll get over it." Downplaying any form of depression is problematic and it contributes to a cycle of pain for that person suffering from it.

    • @namedidii
      @namedidii 2 роки тому +1

      i think a lot of pain can be alleviated if someone's material or emotional needs are met. I think all depression is situational in that sense, in that you * can * get better

    • @Juan_deep
      @Juan_deep Рік тому

      You contribute it by enabling them and feeling sorry for them. Its like a 2 way street you wouldnt understand. I was diagnosed with severe depression all that pity talk and feeling sorry for yourself IS THE MOST HURTFUL thing you can do to somebody. Get over it. Pull yourself up by your bootstraps like a old cowboy told me and he was right.

    Depression is depression. “Situational depression” is simply being sad due to unfortunate circumstances, and therefore isn’t depression. Depression is characterized as irrational symptoms of worthlessness and joylessness, alongside harmful behaviour even though life circumstances are either ideal or in absentia of drastic negative events. It is important to make the designation as chemical treatment for depression won’t remedy sadness (situational depression) because one has to change the problematic life circumstances generating the sadness, while depression can be alleviate with chemical therapy that regulates serotonin-levels in the brain.

    • @Micolashcage1
      @Micolashcage1 3 роки тому +2

      Agree with most of what you say. Recent research shows that serotonin depletion is a byproduct of depression and not the cause of it

    • @nondescriptbeing5944
      @nondescriptbeing5944 2 роки тому +1

      Idk if it’s such a cut and dry distinction. I think it’s all interwoven: life experiences, ingrained thought patterns from them, and maybe effects on brain chemistry

    • @nondescriptbeing5944
      @nondescriptbeing5944 2 роки тому +1

      Like pills alone definitely do not always cure depression, it often takes work in therapy to explore the past and/or current thinking, or even things like diet and sleep can affect it.
