Gavin Belson also raised a good point when Richard said he doesn't want Pied Piper to be a soulless corporation like Hooli. Belson pointed out that once Pied Piper becomes as big as Hooli, it will probably be just as soulless as Hooli, Richard only thinks he's morally superior because he's the little guy at the moment. Throughout the show you also see moments that make it believable that Richard could one day become as ruthless as Gavin.
Lori is utilitarianism. Erlic is hedonism. Dinesh is egotism. Gilfoyl is cynicism and nihilism. Jared is moral absolutism. Monica is moral relativism. Jian yang is chaos. Lol
I liked, I subscribed, I watched the whole thing. This video took a concept that has been done to death and made it feel fresh as hell. This is my first experience with this channel, so I have high hopes for what I see as I'm catching up on your newer and older content! GGs my dude!
the production of this video was so amazing i thought this was a huge channel until like halfway through the video i saw that this was a small channel ?? lol i love this video keep it up
stop calling this show a “comedy”. i’m a vp of tech at one of those companies you know and whose products you use every day. 25 years in the industry and the only thing i can say is this: silicon valley is 90% documentary with some humour sprinkled on top. this is -exactly- how things work in the industry.
Oh for sure, my day job I work in marketing at a consultancy with a heavy roster of tech clients in San Fran. The whole unicorn tech bubble is built on speculation and fuck ups.
Yeah yeah, we all heard that before. If you're a real vp in tech, it's obvious from your Stoicist youtube nickname means you're just as headfucked as those fictional characters in the show
I think there is a light but not unfair techno-optimism buried in the highly realistic portrayal of SV (hypocrisy, short term thinking, etc). Richard does end up teaching tech ethics 😆and I do think they leave the door open for actually creating a better future, its just an honest look at how hard it is. "Idealism is foolish, but without it, the world is periless." - nailed it :)
Good job, I especially like your assignment of a particular philosophy to each of the main characters. Is Silicon Valley the smartest and funniest show TV has ever seen? Yes!
Damn, what a good video man. Love this show, and the more i watch it there are some deep meanings to the story that you miss with all the absurdity and comedy. Im in the baby phase of my tech journey, and this show shows me what i missed by getting into to this at 33 when i should have at 20. It was so much simple then, in the short years since this show, shit has HIT the FAN, and it was ALREADY HITTING THE FAN, Its moving so fast, there is no such thing has keeping up. You better pick a vague but still on-point lane, and master it. Because this field is reaching cosmic size in areas of study. Its a madhouse, pure chaos, and i love it 🤬
If people are dropping off at the 4 minute mark, are the first 4 minutes all as stupid in tone as this one? Once you finished your "cool" retelling of the fable, your analysis was strong and well presented.
Appreciate the love for the second half! My channel definitely isn’t for everyone, but chapter markers help navigate the content for sure. Definitely check out my other content since every video is different.

And what about Richard ?
He's the subject of the sociology problem that has to make a choice
Jian Yang is absurdism - do the wildest thing possible at any moment and it'll work out one way or another
Big Head is a Luck Build
One of the BEST shows
Damn, it's shocking you only have 2170 views. This seemed very well done and one of the few videos discussing the show. Good job and good luck!
Absolutely a perfect essay. I loved the tv show and you put words on several things I can't explained myself.
Damn, how does this not have more views? I love your style man, keep it up!
I was looking for more conversations on this show. It’s a really important look at the hypocrisy of the last 20 years.

Just saw it's been a year since the last upload.
Well shit...
Just starting watching this show I'm on season 5 I had to pause your vid at 9 min didn't want the spoilers. New Sub great content.
Nice analysis!
Amazing video about one of my favorite shows. Great content. Keep it up man!
Really great video! I love the moralistic labels for each character. Very astute observation
This was an amazing review! Awesome break down!
the production of this video was so amazing i thought this was a huge channel until like halfway through the video i saw that this was a small channel ?? lol i love this video keep it up
Wow, thank you!
If you made that 10 minutes longer I would’ve happily watched my guy. Fuck the algorithm.

Ok rando person on the internet
The scene where the guy comes outside in his bath robe and threatens to fight the neighborhood bully kids - that was pretty funny.

I wish you did a longer analysis on the show.

Shit they literally reversed the fairy tale at the end and Jared predicted it. This show is incredible.

Awesome vid, thanks.
Honestly, the first 4 minutes was pretty terribly narrated and I was lost quickly. Glad that you came through after that.
Honestly no they weren't. Those minutes were humorous and necessary
Nice break down, I'll reward with a like & subscribe!
Good Job! Loved the show
The narrator is super intelligent
Weird being an early viewer of what's bound to be a fairly big channel
Aw shucks. Thanks for the love 💕

I think it’s funny
Funny but definitely could have been shorter haha. Its almost 1/3 of the whole video.
great vid
The pick of Bad Religion got me.
Jiang Yang is opportunism.
What in the Peter Piper Pick a Pack of Peppers you talking about?🫤😂
I disagree with the flanderization point. It's very evident in most characters in the show.
The background music ruins this video.
*tethics
I'd have liked / subscribed harder if the video was longer. Fuck UA-cam.
I like how you framed this but the last season still sucked and was completely rushed and thrown to the side by HBO
The finale was excellent
Waste of time
