      Yes!! Your videos are always super helpful to me!! Your channel is probably one of the biggest reasons why I still have my locs and didn’t give up on them while they’re still in the bad baby phase. Almost 7 months now, and they are quite the bad babies now, more like toddlers coming out of the terrible twos 😂😂 thanks for all your up close tutorials like this!! They’re the best! (I also don’t like tight roots either)

    Liza this video was a game changer! I have had my dreads for 2 years and have tried unsuccessfully to do my own maintenance. I had a maintenance scheduled with my loctician in Arkansas, but with this crisis my appointment was postponed. After 7 months of growth I needed to try again. This video made my maintenance SUCCESSFUL!! It took me a total of 8 hours split into 2 day but I have happy dreads again! Thank you so much for your videos and sharing your beautiful smile and happy self with us!

    ThanQ for shairing another informative vid Liza Jayne. I went to the hairdressers weekly for many years then every two weeks. After 13 years my roots started thinning out and so I began freeforming in late 2019. Hairdressers never said it was being overdone. Now I know.

    Hi Liza! Very helpful video. Hopefully you’ll still see a new comment. I was wondering if you could show how to deal with extreme lumps and loops as seen on fledgling locks to stop them from thickening up so much in spots as they mature? I tried to make my locks pencil size but some of them are shrinking up much thicker in a way I don’t like.

    I contacted a loctician because I'm wanting to start my locs journey. My hair is to my shoulders and she recommended that I wait to let me hair grow out because obviously the length shrinks and then I asked about adding extensions and she didn't recommended doing them on starter locs and wait until they are mature enough to stay which makes sense but I watched your journey video at ghe beginning and you did them rite off the bat! What do you recommend I do?? My hair is not thin but it is soft and naturally straight.

    I have white hairs throughout my hair & getting my dreadlocks done soon I hope 🙏🏼 how can I go about dying my hair? Should I just dye my hair (professionally) before getting my dreadlocks done? Just worried about getting my roots touched up after (if they’ll know how to dye my roots with Dreadlocks)
    I’m worried about that. Also wanted some ideas on how to go about that ... with being a brunette & white hairs peekabooing throughout my hair lol what would be best to do? 🤷🏻‍♀️ idk if that makes sense.
    Anyway love all your videos you’re an absolute delight to watch, calming therapeutic voice & sun shining smile .... Thank You 🌻

      Oh thank you so much doll!! That means the world!!! My biggest advice is know what you want to upkeep! I personally think grey locs are some of the prettiest locs and can’t wait for my own! Up keep will be hard and you will want to make sure you have someone that is willing to work on locs or you are willing to keep doing your roots!!! Hope that helps a bit!

      Eli, I have lots and lots of grays that I keep colored. I also have partial dreads (41) and loose hair around my face to the crown of head. I color my loose hair normally, but every 3-4 months I give my dread roots a color fill. Its a bit more complicated and time consuming but I have not relinquished myself to going totally gray. I would go in to have locs installed with freshly colored hair. And ask your loctician if they color roots. If not I have found beauticians who are willing to take the time to color loc roots. Hope this helps and you will totally love the dreadlock life!

  • @lisaperrin792

    When would you use the interlocking method? Or can you just crochet the new growth? My loctician told me to inter lock every 6 weeks or so until I see her for maintenance but I'd rather learn to do it myself. Thanks for this video super helpful!!!

      Doll, I never would on my Caucasian hair. It just causes so many problems for us. (I’m not sure if you have natural kinky hair or not?) Breakage, mold, holes, etc… I suggest the crochet every couple months because we can over do it. Hope that helps!!!! And my pleasure ❤️

    I have a question; is it true that crochet needles can damage your hair?

    • @LizaLocs
      @LizaLocs  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you so much! You CAN overdo the needle. Some people become obsessed with trying to bring in all the little hairs and it ends up thinning the hair. But done with time and care, they hook is wonderful!

    Need video on how to resection. My hair is thinning at the hairline because the dreads are not sectioned correctly. All of my dreads are healthy EXCEPT the top & front which are 10-11. I took off my extensions because they are pulling and its thinning more & mire, dreads cant grow right. $2000 i paid & i have 56 dreads, 10 with no extensions & 46 beautiful. I dont know what to do. How do i resection without taking them all out in the top/front? Im wearing hats, scarfa daily to cover. Help me! I need new extensions as my 46 are disintegrating from a year & a half. I paid total $2800 & im hiding in my house out of embarrassment. I dont know what to do. I dont trust anyone now BUT dod write Eliza a message to see if she would do my hair. Its dark blonde/light brown after growing. I dont dye except roots. I need to get it back to blonde but dont know what to do.
