Great tutorial! As a sound engineer, I must say I am very impressed how simple and to the point you explain a rather complex audio mixing process of a microphone input! You might find my following 2 cents worth of input helpful for your further process: Voxengo graphic EQ is a great choice! Also, the so called "smiley" Fletcher Munson curve is a win, very cool you know about that! However, I recommend reducing everything below 80 Hz, since that is standard practice when recording vocals in the studio, and will reduce any unwanted plosives (wind produced by spoken "p" etc.). These tend to be very low frequency sounds which you might not pick up on every pair of headphones. The second piece of advice would be to use a limiter instead of a compressor. This ensures that any sound exceeding the threshold will be less likely to distort, as well as bringing up those quieter bits and pieces. So more of a two in one package. Hope this helps!
Yo MidnightMan you earned my sub bruh!!! No one on UA-cam makes these tutorials as easy to follow as you do, definitely appreciative of the work you put in
Hi there! Thank you so much for this tutorial! I was wondering if you also have tips for the hissing sounds when you say words starting with an S or T? Love the vid! Really helped me out!
Great guide which looks like it could really help with my blended on campus/remote teaching situ. HOWEVER - you asked about the sound. Yes it's improved somewhat but (as a former pro recording engineer)… DON"T ever boost voice recording lows below 100hz (there's no voice there) - cut them down instead to filter out rumble (this is called a high pass filter). If you want a rich vocal low end that will be more 160-250hz, but go easy. At the top end you're probably better to do a presence peak around maybe 6k (as the best classic condenser mics have built in) and possibly a slight rise at the 10k? Not the extreme highs you have there - that now sounds too bright too high up. Compare with professionally recorded voiceover on a quality mic and match that. Am for crispness but with some WARMTH. Thanks HEAPS for the guide.
Awesome video bro keep up the good work great step by step tutorial that is a neat feature for OBS to have them plugins so you can make your mic that good quality clean tutorial I got that all on the first try.. God Bless
Yeah streamlabs has their own custom integrations, paid add ons for premium that account for the plugins you have to manually add and customize in OBS.
hey bro can i have some help, I want my audio output to into my headphones as i record and usually the audio comes out the computer and my family are usually downstairs where my computer is so it gets quite noisy, i also want record at the same time.Im using blackhole 2ch thanks i really appreciate it.
Are you familiar with Audio Hijack? I've been trying to find what order I should put in the components but Im guessing I could follow the same order here and do it in Audio Hijack, if that makes any sense? I would really appreciate the help. heck, I would pay for a consultation lol
Riddle me this: How do I adjust in-game audio on a Mac without lowering sound effects and mic volume? The game I'm playing is being played on the Mac so the volume is tied to Desktop Audio and there is no BGM volume control in the game. If you have the answer, you've got a new subscriber.
@@MidnightMan Hmm, sorry I think I may have confused you. The app itself has no volume control. IDK why this is, but apparently the designer felt that Mac users didn't need it, but he has it in the PC version, lol.
Oh wow..... that makes it a lot more complicated. If you had some audio mixing software like the elgato wave mixer you could control all audio levels and output through that. But you need elgato wave or xlr to do that
@@MidnightMan I ended up fixing it with the Groundcontrol wave mixer, but even THAT took the help of an audio engineer from the OBS discord to make it happen. What a mess, lol. But, you did answer fast and pretty much gave the answer so subbed.
I have a question my laptop creates a noise everytime i plug in the charger when using obs on my church through the streams. How can i get rid of the noise?

Appreciate it man! The plug-ins let you do a lot of cool things.
@@MidnightMan yeah I can see but doesn’t work with Streamlabs now that you did plug in didn’t know OBS had features like that
Yeah streamlabs has their own custom integrations, paid add ons for premium that account for the plugins you have to manually add and customize in OBS.

Thank you, great video. Do you know any better plugin for noise supression?
I’ve been using RNNoise (CPU) for suppression now over typical suppression. Should be built in

I would try to adjust the volume at the audio source application. So for example, if audio is coming out of Spotify, I lower the audio in the app.

Quick question, what editing software you’re using on your MacBook Pro?

The filters yeah, but not the interface plug-in

"Advanced Audio Settings in OBS" using a cheap USB mic? WTF!
WTF is OBS?
This ua-cam.com/video/EcDcTJSSiPs/v-deo.html
@@MidnightMan Yea, well that doesn't say what it is, just how to use it.
It’s just an app that allows you to screen record and capture webcam, microphone, and gameplay. A customizable live streaming app.
Advanced Audio Properties - No Balance Bar what happened?
