When MoYu releases 3x3s so fast it needs its own "Mega Comparison"
Even though it can be criticized the fact that they haven't try to push innovation for a while, I really appreciate moyu for being consistent at releasing good products. The understand that you need a solid design first and then you implement the gimmicks.

I currently have the RS3M Super, which holds a degree of sentimental value as I decided to treat myself to it when attending my first ever competition last year.
Out of the other two, I'm more inclined toward the YS3M.

The auto alignment of those cubes are the same with my Rs3m 2020. 😂
i tried the v9 at a comp and i love it. so flexible
I miss when cubes had fun to say names, like the Weilong, the Along, the Tanglong. But now we have names like RS3 XS Max v3 2023 (kinda an exaggeration, but that’s how it feels sometimes). At least the cubes are better than ever now.
i mean you could call the WRM weilong and the YS3M the Huameng
I have RS3M Super Standard and Ball Core, and YS3M Ball Core (frosted). The YS3M is really stable but requires more force to turn, which is why I can’t solve with it for a long time. I’m interested in the WRM v9, I actually ordered one and have to wait now. Your WRM v9 sounds so satisfying! I use very different setups from yours though, mostly light lubes and loose compression.
Any updates?? Which cube do you prefer?
@@murginforti4113 out of these, YS3M Ball Core UV. It’s faster than the frosted one. The WRM v9 has too strong magnets for my taste.
@@OlgaFyodorova i have the ys3m ball core uv as my main i did try rs3m super bc but it felt too blocky. how did the v9 feel?
@@shahar78985 v9 is not blocky, it's quite flexible. But the balance between the speed (it's really fast) and magnets (really strong) is a bit off. Some love it, some not. I could compete with it, but won't use it for spamming hundreds of solves - my fingers get tired.

Ordered a WRm v9 for myself to try. Not sure about the small size, but it would make it OH friendly. More exciting is that it’s much lighter than the other two counterparts. I have the UV coated YS3M and do enjoy solving with it, unfortunately my hand/palm cramps up because of the weight within like 3 solves. My lousy hands just can’t get used to the weight it seems… (Been maining gan flagship cubes so that’s partly why I guess?)

I'm wondering if I should buy the ys3m ball core or the weilong wrm v9 ball core. They both look so great! Thanks for doing a comparison though!
Personally I think they may have the right idea on the non adjustable magnets. I’m sure the complexity of an adjustable magnet system probably adds a not insignificant amount to the cost. As someone just getting into cubing there is no way I would buy a $40+ cube but having one with good enough magnets for ~$25 means I can enjoy a high end cubing experience for a fairly reasonable price.
Granted I do not think every brand should get rid of magnet customization. I think having those options on the market is a really good thing. But having one of the best available cubes be completely affordable is really great.
Hi Shawn. If include YS3M and WRM V9 into your 2023 mega comparisons, will your recommendations change? Especially comparing to Tornado V3.

Me buying the WRM V9 is also justified by my main which is gan 13 and when I switch to a rs3m it feels like a brick so id like the lighter cube much more
I own the super rs3m and I like it because of its stability. Maybe I Will do some modding to make the auto allignment better but overall I really like it.

Was looking for this comparison as I have both the ys3m and super. The only attractive feature in v9 is the light turning, but at this price, I am unlikely to go for the v9.
What lube dit you use?
How is the ys3m UV $36? I just ordered it with free shipping to Colombia for $29, $36 + taxes + transcontinental shipping sounds really expensive

From my research, all three cubes are good, it just depends on how much your willing to pay, but you should be happy with either.

Shawn, do the YS3M ball core frosted matte and UV versions feel internally different when turning?
internals r same so no difference really , the main difference is external and how it js makes the cube more comfy as well as grippy.
I have the RS3M Super
It feels really nice, I like the weight, but I have to turn more accurately on it than my Tornado V3 to avoid lockups.
Yeah nobody really seems to talk about this but even with the good corner cutting you do have to be much more accurate, it has a kinda squishy lockup feel sometimes. Still a great feeling cube, but yeah got my eyes set on the Weilong V9 for them strong magnets
The wrm doesn't seem to catch it if it does it's seems to lightly cut through it

Ok here we go
Cutting a couple of millimetres give you a tighter turning circle and 100th of a second speed gain. 😂 But I like smaller cubes because my hands are smaller and big ones hurt to turn. (Never going to be a speed cuber because every time I try old RSI flares up, but do love watching others make the colours blur.)
You could try a low movecount method, probably Petrus or Roux. That would make your solutions faster.
Shawn if your reading this, what is ur favorite cube of all time. I already have the gan 13 maglev and was wondering should I get the tornado v3 or the WRM V (never owned or a WRM or tornado cube but I did main the rs3m and super rs3m ball-core)
That's difficult to answer because my favorite cubes are more nostalgic like the mini AoLong v1 and Mini ShrengRen. As far as modern cubes I swap them so often nothing odd currently the "favorite"

I have not. I have though if magnetizing the 16 MeiLongs I have since they are all different colors.
It's like a pokemon. Some aspects are kept but upgraded from cube to cube.
So, I'm back. I got my WRM v9. I'm a light turner, and this cube takes too much effort to turn for my taste. I like its speed at zero clicks, but the magnets are so strong that the cube feels jerky. When I tighten the maglev to compensate for that, the cube becomes harder to turn. Both WRM v9 and YS3M are great for those who don't mind putting some effort in turning.
Shawn my tornado v3 core broke so I'm looking for a new main what do you i should buy?

at 0:49 you said the super rs3m has teal insides in the newer batches but i dont think it has
It was MoYu who promised to do it. Maybe the old batch hasn't been fully sold out yet.

I have two versions of the ys3m. The ball core and the standard version. I replaced the spring with maglev and added extra edge magnets in both puzzles. I really like the standard mod to maglev with extra magnets best. The size is nice and the cube has a really nice feeling after set up. For the rs3m super I have the ball core but The more I used it the less I liked it.I think it was the blocky feeling that I didn’t really like.
How did you add extra edge magnets? 🤔
It's actually quite simple as you just open up the edge and add a magnet over top of the old ones. You technically don't have to glue them in however it's nice to do that to keep them secure. I added 4 x 2 n50 on my RS 3M 2020

the tornado v3 flagship has some magnet issue, the magnet default setting is 3, when i turn to 2, after 3-4 solved it will back to 3, this is not good, they should fix this, too bad, its brand new i just got it 2days before 2units, both have the same problem, you guys should check yours, if it was on lvl 3 its okay it wont go up or down, but when you turn it to 2 it will automatically back to 3

hey Shawn, just wondering which cube you wiuld say is the closest to a valk, out of the three and in general as i have broken the corner base of my last valk😢
I would say the YS3M. It's closest to the size (just a little smaller) and has a similar stability and feel (compared to the other two)

It's not. It adds stability by having more magnet points and likely become standard but the cubes also seem to be made more flexible to compensate for the added magnets.

I may pickup them v9. I GAN cubes (12) and I heard this is the closest MoYu cube to that. I had the Wrm 2021 but I felt the magnets were not that strong. This is just personal preference from a newb at cubing
Thanks for this helpful comparison! I definitely need to buy the WRM V9 to get 100 of a second faster averages 😂(I wish my averages were that consistent). PS I have the RS3M and the YS3M and prefer the YS3M because of the smaller size and stronger magnets.

Your time actually makes no difference. You could be at two minutes or five seconds and it just depends on what feeling you prefer.

I would say that the YS3M almost just as good as the tornado V3 maybe better

I have all the Supers and I'm getting rid of them. So if the HuaMeng and WRM V9 are similar, I'll save myself 40 bucks and buy something else. :)

even though the wrm v9 performs better than ys3m,but the moyu logo looks ugly and feels cheap , is like a $7 cheap cube logo, ys3m logo way more pretty and high end, seriously they need to make some changes on their logo

I ever have the super one but it broken so it get returned, But for my opinion I interesting in the Weilong one ‘cause the technology is real high and almost half of gan 13 price but using same technology. So if i have 4p dollars i may spend it on Weilong or the newest one that I really sure they gonna come out in 1-2 months and it probably ys3m (just guessing) and if who read till this, I think you have too much space time so go to sleep.
I tried really hard to like the RS3M Super but I just can’t get used to the feel.
The rounded edges on the center piece is too pronounced for me and I feel my fingers get trapped in between pieces.
Not a bad cube but just not my still.
Loving the YS3M because of how stable it is but my all time favourite is still the WRM 2021 (after the Tornado v3, mostly due to size)

Ball-core is the best
I really feel like Moyu should pick up they're game in tension customization like Qiyi and GAN ( I believe Moyu was the first one to release a spring compression system which don't require you to change nuts like gans did) but maybe doing that can deteriorate stability and cause unnecessary complications
I much prefer what MoYu does and hope they don't change it. It's easier and allows for more customization than Gan. QiYi might be easier but is a little more limited.

They had that exact mech in the 2021 WRm. They took it away for some reason. I don't think MoYu is needing to catch up as they have already done it.

I really don't like the new blue logos, I prefer black logos much more. Also I think they are inspired by GAN not sure tho
I like the blue on the ys3m I think makes it look more premium. But for the worm it does the opposite, it looks like a cheap budget cube
