I really like the original 2020 and the super. I think the 2020 just takes lube more easily for some reason, and you can make it feel absolutely amazing.

My opnion Dont buy the rs3m v5 bc just buy the dual version or the dayan guhong pro 56mm spring I have both of them and the guhong pro is better and the build quality on the rs3m v5 bc is bad Or get the super rs3m 2022 Edit:btw can you make comparison of all weilong cube?
I have the non ball core super and it's nice, but my favorite is the guhong pro for sure. Only thing is the plastic feels a little cheap. But performance is great.
The V5 has everything I wanted in a budget cube. Except that the pieces are a bit thin. I dropped it on a concrete floor and one of the corners cracked. Replaced with a non-UV piece from super RS3M and it works equally well. Appreciate your closing opinion on the V2. For the price, I might as well go for the WRM V9, 8 or 20 magnets. 😊
Do you think the absence of a ball-core in the RS3 2020 is why it felt faster and less controllable in this review, compared to the others? I’ve never owned a cube with core magnets, but the reviews I’ve seen seem to say that it makes cubes subjectively more controllable during solves, even if the auto-align isn’t huge when you test for that by itself.
This video really helped a lot. You really make sure to take your time to explain everything there is to explain about those cubes. Btw, the names are kinda getting confusing.
My Super RS3M V2 also fell apart!!! Pieces fell apart the FIRST TIME i used it! I put it back together and then it happened again and again! I contacted Speed Cube Shop and told them, and they sent me a free replacement. Within 1 day of using it, it fell apart too! So it wasn’t a defective cube, it’s a design flaw! And seeing the SAME exact thing happen to you, now i know it’s a design thing…. Too bad because it’s a great cube when it doesn’t fall apart! And for the price, it’s really bad that it’s built so cheaply!
If you haven't already, could you please do an in-depth video about the "anatomy" of a cube? Also, if you could explain what mag lev and the magnetic core actually mean and what the differences are, it would be very much appreciated.
I do have some older videos that I planned on redoing throughout this year. Here is an older video on a 2x2 that explains a 3x3. ua-cam.com/video/QGB7xxb_8Jc/v-deo.html Maglev basically replaces springs in the center pieces which constantly pushes the pieces inward. This way the cube can be looser and flex instead of having to be constantly tight. The magnetic core does a similar thing with the corner pieces but it's more for stability and making the pieces stay in more of a cubic shape. I hope to have some videos out this summer.
I've always loved the RS3s and this definitely does them justice. My first magnetic cube was a 2020, and I was enamoured with it but found the magnets were weak and its core stripped easily. Tried a 2021 recently and it honestly felt redundant, the maglev doesn't feel right at all. The super is nice, the base model is definitely better than the 2020 but honestly there's not much of a difference among all the versions. The v5 is very nice, it's really just a super with better core magnets and UV; the super v2 is definitely the best but so expensive it seems pointless. There are so many of them.....
Hey there man keep up the good work! Hope everything is good with you and your schooling and family. It’s funny I didn’t like the super Rs3m but I love the V5. It’s one of my favorite cubes overall! Peace ✌🏻
i did my research before i started buying bought the rs3m 2020 bought the gts3m with ridges bought the moyu wrm bought aosu 4x4 bought the mini 4x4 and the daiyan v1 for its quietness all good cubes id probably continue to buy if the ones i already bought broke next cube im thinking of buying is a maglev but im holding off on it as i already got a few 3x3 already
Personally I like the original super ballcore most, the v5 breaks easily since I believe the plastic is thinner to reduce weight(mine broke and my supers plastic is thicker), the super v2 is basically a v5 but with some different feel imo, the original 2020 has weak magnets, so super v1 is my pick, there is also a white ballcore to replace the gold one, since the gold one breaks easily as gold=brittle plastic, which is why they changed it to blue. I added extra magnets from my moyu aochuang wrm(they give extras in accessories) to the corner feets as the ballcore is smaller, hence more space in the cube where you can add magnets(I'm not sure if I'm right but I think they are 2mm magnets)
I tried some newer rs3ms like the v5 and super v2 in my last competition and I think they're pretty good. I think I might buy one of them in the future! 😄
I don't understand why MoYu felt the need to make the super v2. It's very expensive relative to the rest of the rs3's and that's quite odd seeing as the rs line has always made cheaper puzzles with great performance. It just doesn't feel different enough from the v5 to justify the price being almost double.
I didn't feel it was much at first but when testing the same cubes with and without I found I was not getting as many catches when the magnetic core was there. Catches were certainly my fault for not having the cube aligned, however I feel the core magnets helped keep it more aligned without me realizing it through the feeling of the puzzle.
My original RS3M 2020 is now on its last legs so it’s definitely time to change it up. I want to give the “ball core” and UV a try so the V5 for me. Is there a version without the robot???😂
2020 have a bit of autoalineament, just a bit but is appreciated, V5 is so wired about autoalineament, it looks like it's going to do but when when is the moment it give something like a braking due to friction, may be adding some weight 1 can improve about this
Is there a safe and effective way to remove the printed logo from UV cubes without damaging them? I recently purchased a Super RS3M v2 UV and just learned about the new BLD regulation that prohibits logos. Unfortunately, it seems difficult to find a recently released logo-less stickerless cube or a blank white cap for the Super RS3M v2 UV, everywhere I look they don't sell these. To compensate I saw that it would require potentially risky methods like sanding, sugar/alcohol, or nail polish. It's also disappointing that replacement blank white center caps aren't offered. While I respect the WCA's decision, I can't help but wonder if there's a more practical solution for both competitors and manufacturers.
If it's UV coated you need to remove the coating before you would get to the logo. The decision was made before UV coating was a thing and I'm wondering if it will be reversed because of it. The main solution at the moment might be to get a separate cube that isn't UV coated unfortunately.
i might take a look at the rs3m v5 for my new main, it looks like i would really like it (and maybe buy more magnets for it cause they seem kinda weak) also the reason why the rs3m 2020 is faster might have to do with what you said on the 2024 comparison (about the guhong pros), that the maglev on the others might be stronger; or it could also just be a design change on the 2020 uv, cause i heard the magnets were stronger so maybe they changed that as well (its all speculation tho)
Hey eric even i have the same problem here, initially thought of going with tornado v3 but many say its stem breaks and then went for daya guhong pro m and the same issue existed and then moyu release v10 and thought of going for it and even it had the same problem as these 3 premium cubes have plastic stem structure it is getting break easily so thats the reason i thought of going for rs3m v5, and what is your thought on it?
i have the rs3m 2020 rn and yeah its functiong still fine but it aint good now since i drenched it with water...(cus i didnt know that you SHOULDNT cubes with water) but if i were to buy a cube in the rs3m series its definitely the rs3m v5 thers just smth abit this cube

I've been maining the RS3 2020 for about 3 years now, I absolutely love it. It's an amazing cube, especially with how inexpensive it is.
My first speed cube was the rs3m 2020, current main is a tornado v3, but I feel like a v5 would fit me better, thanks for the reviews shawn
I’ve started my cubing journey on November and I’m having a blast. Thanks for the cube’s reviews.
I'm an old cuber coming back from a long break. Looks like cubes are tremendously better nowadays. I look forward to trying one of the newer cubes!

Same! I chose the guhong pro standard 54mm over the v5, I think the V5's stability is a little overkill

I actually got a maglev v5, and plan to core magnetize it myself
But how? Thats already magnetized

Weilong wrm v9 but with 100 magnets instead of 88

I used to be really good at keeping up with new cubes - I'd always get excited when I saw that a new one had come out. Moyu genuinely scared me off.
The original 2020 was my first main until a month ago. Only the V5 has been able to earn that title in over three years.
