Consistently the best reviewer on the planet. How he has full on detailed convo while going 40mph dh is beyond my comprehension. Thinking seriously about the mojo.
Sometimes I feel like he records the commentary in post production, it's unbelievable! And the content is descriptive/objective, not the subjective-ish like personal preferences.
I think you are one of the best reviewers on UA-cam. Love the vids. I like that you don't get bogged down talking about every little spec. Very informative and entertaining
Literally RIPPING these trails at about 6:30 on , while talking! Major props sir!! BTW , just picked up a earlier Mojo today , full black carbon and it had never been off road. Built by a guy who worked out of country. Put $7500.00 into it , and I got it today for $1800.00. It's brand new! So stoked right now!
I am really impressed on how he can go soo fast thru the trails and be able to speak about the bike so in debt and annunciate all of his words correctly at the same time :)
I loved this review. I bought this bike second hand, and I’m a beginner. Don’t have any skills yet and I was scared seeing you doing the jumps and corners, omg! I wish I can have that skills to enjoy the like you do man.
I sure like your review format. When I hear that atmospheric intro I immediately go full screen, get up close, select HD and enjoy the ride from the position of your handlebar! A review of the Revel Rail 650B would sure be wonderful. I can't decide if I want this Mojo-4, a Revel Rail 650B or go up to 29'' for the new Trail-429. I've rewatched both of your review-rides for the Mojo-4 and the Pivot Trail-429 and I just can't tell which one appears to have the most responsive handling. To me jumps are OK, but I ride mostly for the whips and curves, plus I want a bike that climbs like a mountain goat. I love the way you love this Mojo-4 in the bumps and how well you say it smoothes them out. Seems the Trail-429 is closer to the ride I'd expect from more of a stiffer XC-oriented bike. I'd sure love it if I could compare your reviews against each other. If you were to review the Revel Rail I'd love to compare it's against this Mojo-4. Thank you for these, I think they're the best on the Web.
Bro you are hands down the most entertaining and best reviewer out here. What trail is that and in what state? It looks so epic. Lastly, can you review the Ibis Ripmo or Ripmo AF? Huge thanks, Chingon~!
The way you describe the way this bike rides, it sounds similar to my 2016 Kona process 134, but with more efficient pedaling behavior. Sounds like a really fun bike.
For those who say Ohh but 29ers roll faster. Shove this video in their face. 👏👏👏♥️♥️♥️ Best riding on internet.. Best reviews on internet. Keep it up bro 👏👏👏👊👊♥️
I really dig the light tune. It’s just super adjustable. You can run a lot of sag and still get the rebound speed fast enough to recover. It makes for one plush ride. Also one of the lightest feeling compression tunes when left wide open. I’m a fan!
Great review..exactly how I feel about my Mojo 3, but better geometry. Do you know the weight of that Deore build? .. and do you think it's worth saving the $900 over the slx? I'm thinking Deore with the carbon wheel upgrade. Thanks. 👍
a year late with this comment but in the market for a new bike and your reviews are very fun to watch. i'm not sure anyone from my neighborhood can ride like you do Again so fun to watch. My question is what about much slower riders and much older rider. Would this mojo be a better choice than say the Pivot 429? I will say nearly every bike you ride I think well that"s a good one. Great job!
Great review! That build is rad for the price. Really smart for Ibis to spec Deore with Factory level suspension and their house brand wheels. Would put you Deore performance way above NX?
CasteelG Deore is super reliable, longer lasting, and has better shift quality. Deore also has a metal cage in the mech while NX is plastic. I would never use NX again knowing that Deore exists. As for brakes, I haven’t tried them but but I can only assume they are of equally good quality
Hey Spencer, I'm in my early 60s and used to lead the pack before my parents got sick and needed full time care for 15 years. So I'm going on the road for 2-3 years in a van with a mountain bike to tour the Western & Southern State's trails. I'd like your recommendation for a bike 1/2 way between an Exie and a Santa Cruz V10 so I can enjoy everything this country throws at me. I'd tossed around the idea of a Mojo-4 but I'm not certain is has quite enough travel. I'm 5' 7" and prefer 27.5'' and I plan to go to either a FOX 36 or a FOX 38, so that might make a considerable difference, along with a 2.6'' rear tire. Your thoughts? Thank you!!
Came back to revisit this review. There are some great deals on the Mojo 4 right now and now I can't make up my mind on what I am getting. I had my mind made up on a Ripley AF but for a bit more I can get the carbon Mojo 4....decisions, decisions!
I was in the exact same boat as you. I just pulled the trigger on a mojo 4 from N + 1 bikes. 35% off with carbon wheels and free shipping (promo code MOJO35). Came out to $3300 for Deore build which was cheaper than a new Ripley AF. Deal was too good to pass up.
You're really ripping through the trails. Super fast like @jeffkendellweed, it makes the Mojo4 look really sweet. Loved last issue. Keep up the good work.
I’m not sure what bike to go with for a one bike to do it all since I’m poor. It’s a toss up between the mojo , mojo hd5, or ripley. I’m in central Texas so we don’t have too many gnarly down hill trails. Mostly back country trails. Any suggestions?
Would you say this is comparable to the Ripley as far as capability? I have a Ripley and I love it, but jumping to flat is never fun. Looking for something efficient but little more Jib-able.
The following is stiffer and tigger feeling with its less suspension and smaller volume tires. The mojo is way softer feeling. The mojo is a bike you can just lean back and plow through the tech on. Both bikes pedal incredibly well!
*_I just watched His new Pivot Shadowcat 27.5" x 140mm review and I'll have to give it to the Pivot for appearing to be a bit faster than this 130mm IBIS._*
“Rolls over terrain like it’s a 29er.” Course it does. You have 27.5 x 2.6s on there. There is only a half inch difference in actual diameter between that size tire and a 29 x 2.3. Check out my vid on actual wheel and tire diameter measurements. ua-cam.com/video/JGRTkY49imQ/v-deo.html I think the maneuverability and flickability of 27.5s comes more from their bb drop- you sit quite higher up compared to the axles with a 27.5 than a 29er, making it easier to get the frame’s mass moving and lift the wheel. Just my hypothesis. But the wheel size difference- not as big as it may seem at first glance.
I just ordered a mojo 4 with upgraded suspension Fox 36 grip 2 @140 and a DPX2 shock. Being 6'3'' and 205lbs I thought it would make the bike more capable. Does that sound worthy or overkill?
No one is giving this bike a chance! It needs FOX 36 or at least a Yari. Everyone claims Ibis are flexy, loose the F'n flexy 34s and you'll lose most of the flex!
looks like an awesome whip, I think I need one,,,gonna need a nu improved bike room it appears,,,please stop doing these reviews,,this is getting expensive and no matter how many bikes I buy I wont be riding like that,,,

Love how happy those laughs are when the bikes he rides are ripping. I can feel him grinning cheek to cheek.
Never change the intro for these reviews!
It's perfect!!
I swear, whatever bike review it is, you make me want to buy that bike. Keep up the great reviews!
so true!! :D
Sounds like it's more marketing than a review then?
I think you are one of the best reviewers on UA-cam. Love the vids. I like that you don't get bogged down talking about every little spec. Very informative and entertaining
Kudo for narration at crazy speed through all those jumps, gaps and berms! Great job!

I love watching this review! Your joy is infectious! (And I actually did end up buying a Mojo 4, which I love)

Have you considered reviewing hardtails? Would love to hear about the new Kona Honzo ESD

Epic review... love all ibis bikes!
Dude great review ! Thanks for taking the time to make this viedeo and keep up the good work . New sub here .
You ride so insanely good
Great review
Great reviews! Will you be testing the new Ibis Ripley this year?
I would love to see some external footage of you riding
*HOURS OF IT!*
Best test vids in UA-cam
by far the best on the bike reviews. Was wondering what chest strap you are using and what camera?
Hero 7 4k 24fps with karma gimbal on the latest gopro chest mount. Superview, low sharpness, and auto shutter for the woods.
such good reviews
Sick video! You were glued to the ground and going Mach-Chicken!!!!! So being 205lbs. how did you like that light tune?

That's good thinking, except I'm going for Santa Cruz Reserve carbon wheels - at my weight they're necessary

Amazing review! How would you compare this ride to the Ripley V4?
its always a great listen when the commenter is exhausted
You're really ripping through the trails. Super fast like @jeffkendellweed, it makes the Mojo4 look really sweet. Loved last issue. Keep up the good work.
*_Why oh why did this review have to end?!?_* 😫
So what's your take on this vs. the Evil Following?
What part of the country was this video filmed in?
Great review!!! Love my HDR
I think its Bellingham, Washington

Hi are you running the S35 wheels? Do you think they are slower than 30mm width wheels?
How do you think the Mojo 4 would ride with a 35mm chassis fork at 150mm travel?
I run the mojo 4 with 150 pike ultimate : no worries. A little more mini enduro thon thé original version
Where is this beautiful trail?
This is basically 650b version of norco optic that climbs too.
how does this one compare to the Evil Following (2020 model)?
The following is stiffer and tigger feeling with its less suspension and smaller volume tires. The mojo is way softer feeling. The mojo is a bike you can just lean back and plow through the tech on. Both bikes pedal incredibly well!
@@johnsospencer Thanks!
We are waiting for the new slash ⚡
Coming soon!
Hey Spencer, Would you say this is basically a 27.5" version of Ibis's Ripley in terms of overall handling & climbing prowess?
Mojo4 vs the following...
Whitch one is best fore technical climbing and technical decending..
Thanks
For Bham trails: the Mojo 4 vs Transition Scout?
*_I just watched His new Pivot Shadowcat 27.5" x 140mm review and I'll have to give it to the Pivot for appearing to be a bit faster than this 130mm IBIS._*
You seem to be almost standing still in comparison to your ride on the 2021 Wreckoning
which is better to jump? evil following or mojo4?
What is the weight on that build?

425mm chainstay length on a large?
🔥🤘
I just ordered a mojo 4 with upgraded suspension Fox 36 grip 2 @140 and a DPX2 shock.
Being 6'3'' and 205lbs I thought it would make the bike more capable.
Does that sound worthy or overkill?
Spencer our bike tester is 5'11" at 205 lbs so you should be good to go with that setup!
This or evil offering v3?
For your height, which size were you riding in this video?
I’m just under six foot tall and I was on a large. The size is listed in the very start of the video on the 6 second geo shot. Bottom of the screen
Please add your height on your website or to your vid reviews. It is key! 🔑
Spencer is 5'11". Will start putting it in the description from now on, thanks for the feedback
@@freehubmag Which size was he riding in this video?
Freehub Magazine Great thanks!
Freehub Magazine You know what’s weird...in my notifications your message says 6’1 and here it says 5’11. Shall we say 6’?

Great review... but I don't agree that "it is good for a beginner." Beginner's don't spend $4500 on a bike.
Dentists or Hedge funders do!!
Or anyone who budgets for it. You shouldn’t presume or project. Neither are a good look.
