- On this episode of “Meet the Maker”, we get an inside look into the history of IBIS Cycles through the lens of their founder and visionary, Scot Nicol a.k.a. “Chuck Ibis”. Scot takes us on a journey through his early adventures on balloon tire cruisers in Northern California, pioneering the sport of mountain biking, through the ups and downs of building a successful business, and into the modern age of cycling as IBIS continues to build great bikes today. History like this never gets old.

Oh God SO much history here. Love this! I always wanted an Ibis.
Excellent.
Glad you enjoyed it!
TPC is back! Exactly what we need during these challenging times! Thank you!
You bet!
Always love the videos. The cowboy bebop song was a nice touch.
Thank you!
That was awesome! More Pros Closet videos please. I loved the Missy Giove one from awhile back too! 🖤
One of our favorite videos as well
More Bay Area mtb history. Love it. I used to own a late 80's Novara Ponderosa with a tt sticker "designed by Scot Nicol". Sadly I sold it. lol
Rad to hear you owned a piece of history for a bit!
Back in the day, IBIS made the Bow-Ti, a Ti mountain bike with virtual suspension. That was THE BIKE to get.
thanks for putting this together. just great. interesting, inpsiring story, love the footage. . . . and i love my Ibis Mojo, of course.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video.
Thanks so much!
I still have a custom Ibis tandem MTB built in 87. The paint work was called fireworks and still looks cool - bright coloured splatter over good black.
Ken, we would love to see a photo of it?!
I recently picked up a 1987 Novara (REI) X-R frame “Scot Nichol design”). It was designed as a 26” drop bar ATB with 3 btl cages, mounts for rack/fenders. Can’t wait to build it up!
Awesome!
Great episode! I love Ibis bikes!! Ibis Ripley is my favorite bike!!
Great bike!
Love us some Chucky Ibis! One of our very best exhibitors and Chuck is always right there working harder than most folks 1/2 his age. And the guy can still SHRED with the best of them!
100%!
My favorite bikes. I've got the Ripmo v1 and a Ripley AF. Beautifully functional bikes. Nothing feels as light and comfortable as an Ibis.
Those are great bikes!
Thanks Mr Nicol. Loving my Ripmo V1
