EXCELLENT tour! I just bought a Corbin and had no idea how things are done there. Old school manufacturing process with a factory full of skilled craftsmen.
Their customer service when they screw something up is horrible though. Their QC seems terrible too. I had their seat on a Kawasaki Vulcan S and the front mounts were visibly uneven in their placement in the seat pan. My seat sat crooked on the bike and had movement because of it. The seat also wore the paint off my fuel tank. I reached out to Corbin after getting the seat and seeing how bad the fitment was. They had me send a video in but offered nothing else. Their answer to their poor manufacturing was “our seats are made to the best standards, idk what else you want from us”. So I paid $600 for a seat that fit poorly and damaged my bike and got customer service of “sorry, sucks to be you”.
I purchased my seat in 1997 for my kawasaki Vulcan 800b. I have been on a ride from Jacksonville Florida to Niagara falls. I do have a back rest in the seat. First item I purchased for the motorcycle and still own the bike today. I love your seat. 66, 000 miles and still going. Life in Florida is great riding weather. Come to Jacksonville Florida and go to Sargent seat company, great motorcycle seat company.
This video ROCKS! I have a Corbin seat ordered with the heating element for my 2018 GoldWing. It is so cool to see they test the before it leaves the factory. Thanks for doing this video!
The owner, Mike, seems like the kind of guy I'd like to work for. And acknowledging the good work by Lisa is something ALL employees appreciate. I like how he is just walking around making sure everything is running smoothly. I really hope they come out with an extended and higher seat for my new Rebel 1100.new
looks like they did come out with the seat for rebel 1100. my current seats breaks my tailbone in half over bumps and its unbearable after an hour of city riding. Actually selling the bike for this reason.
@@roosterinmarari Yeah, I tried the stitched seat and it was bad! I then tried another plain seat and there is a big difference! I thought the plain seat with no stitching was much more comfortable.
Very interesting reading the comments here. I was thinking of getting one, but from the sounds of it if you end up with a faulty one (no shame there, it happens with all products) the customer support just screws you over, as I would be ordering to the UK, that's not a risk I want to take.
Just bought a seat for my sv650 and it took about 2.5 weeks to arrive. I paid $725.00 total including shipping. The workmanship is beautiful and the seat is 100 times better than a stock seat. I am very happy with it. Yes it's expensive but compared to other seats on the market it well worth the cost. Old saying holds true. You get what you pay for. Thank you Corbin for a wonderful seat,my ride is so much better than before...!!
I was lucky when a friend ordered a Corbin seat for his Royal Enfield GT 650 and it did not fit. He sold it to me for my RE INT650 and I love the seat. This is my first street bike and first Corbin. I will all ways buy a Corbin for any future bikes.
I have a Corbin dual touring seat that I bought about a year ago, I love the seat is comfortable yet firm and great for long rides and it’s heated. Worth every penny.
Great video! I've got a Corbin on my CBR600rr and I'll tell you I'm super happy I did it. The stock seat was thin with little padding, I'm in my 40's and my back just couldn't handle it. Before my Corbin I was hurting 20-30 miles into a ride. When I first got my Corbin it was much better but still a little hard, after break in though I absolutely love it. I've got about 2500 miles on mine and after a 300 mile trip my butt and back don't hurt. Thank you for videoing the tour, it was really cool to watch. I'd recommend a Corbin to anyone wanting to upgrade their seat.
@@ladyt4u66 You build the seat on their website and it costs NOTHING to change the style. You pick what you want entirely and its one flat price with any color/cosmetic options.
I have a Corbin sestthat I got back in 1999 for my Honda VFR Interceptor. I now have 130,000 kms on my bike. The Corbin seat still works great. It is comfortable for an all day ride. I will be putting one on my HD FLHT, so I can ride across Canada and back to Alberta this summer. I highly recommend Corbin, they are very well made. Although they seem quite hard they are so comfortable on long rides. Get one and enjoy your motorcycle to the fullest.
I just ordered another Corbin seat yesterday, my third one! This newest one is for a Honda F6B. I love the bucket design and the firmness of the memory foam. In my opinion, they are quality seats. The material is amazing. I've had my last seat for my Yamaha Raider for 16 years and no signs of wear yet. Very comfortable.
Rode with one on a buddies bike thing was hard a rock. Ended up buying an ultimate seat for my ultra limited. A lot less money put about 60k on it couldn't be happier. Nice video though.
I like that comment.its better than the DMV experience.and she does a great job on explaining the process.i appreciate her taking time to answer the questions.
Having owned and will be ordering a seat for a newly purchased bike; Mike Corbin seats, their attention to detail and their readiness to have clients return for adjustments is phenomenal.
Enjoyed the video, I’ve been in touch regarding a seat and back rest for my R18 Classic BMW. Great communication from Jay Tigyer thanks guys I’ll get back to you after the holidays , Graham. 🇬🇧
Added another Corbin this Winter. I believe the 5th one I have owned on various bikes over several 100k miles..... Once broken in, there is nothing more comfortable. And the customizing is a great thing .
I ordered a leather Corbin King & queen saddle w/Rider backrest in 1996 for approx. $650. That was the best feeling, all day riding, feel better after I got than when I'd gotten on it seat that I've ever experienced. For me, it was perfect.

Charm, Knowledge and quick responding, you are a complete Fabulous & Dedicated woman. Kudos to the Owner also for being extremely cordial and I love not having to be dressed Formally....You be You!! #CORBINSTRONG
"...because UPS and FedEx no matter how much we pay them they're not gonna care". No truer words have been spoken regarding package delivery companies.
Just ordered a corbin seat for my kawasaki H2 sx se. Takes a while before it arrives though seeing as it needs to be shipped out to the Netherlands but I can't wait to test the results.
Great seats. Some look comfy than others, each to their own ay.. big seats like these inc oem ones tend to hold rain and “puddle” so if someone could make a seat that disperses the rain water before it “puddles” would be onto something…great insight into Corbin..👍
Hey great video and Lisa did a great job answering some technical questions! And you got to hang out with the big man himself Greg. I work with HD and LiveWire on their prototype seating and stylings. It’s interesting that Corbin only uses their comfort foam now and no layers of other high resiliency foam. Part of the issue of comfort for OEM seating is the shape of motorcycle seats. I understand why they don’t do gel inserts but a product that is fantastic is Pudgie GelFoam
I had a Corbin seat on our fjr and it fit me like a glove but even after 10k miles it didn't feel any different from day one. Was still hard as a brick! If it was just slightly softer I think it would've been an excellent seat. This is no exaggeration, I could push down on the foam very firmly and it would barely compress so needless to say when your weight is spread out across the seat it doesn't seem to give at all. I truly believe a board would be just as soft. I did notice the girl mentioned they offer a softer foam, maybe that's the way to go?
I had the exact same experience with my 2014 FJR that had a Corbin seat on it when I purchased it. I kept switching back and forth between it and the stock seat and couldn't tell much difference. The Corbin did look better but I was not impressed. I now own a BMW K1600GTL and the stock seat is terrible! Tried an Air Hawk and NO! (review is on my channel). Have a new Butt Buster on the way. I just won't spend a thousand on a seat only to find out it's not much better than stock.
I just received mine for a KTM 890R and the bracket that holds the seat in is off the exact dimension of the screw threads for the stock seat. I am not happy as I was planning and end of season long weekend ride. I sure hope they correct this issue quickly!!
I bought one (Custom made) and absolutely love it!!1 The sales person I spoke with helped me figure out what I wanted and how it should look. It came out better than I could have imagined. I'll buy from them again if I get another bike. 2019 Indian Scout Bobber.
Great video. I have upgraded my bike by fitting Hyperpro progressive springs, they have improved the stability and comfort of my bike somewhat, but not a silver bullet. Thinking of a seat upgrade next.
For myself, an excellent seat is great and I've had two corbins on different Harley's. But having bigger fuel tanks on Harley's, Goldwings, and BMW's you need an ace in the hole as you fly by one gas station after another. Installing highway pegs usually off the roll bars or newer inventions that use various bolts from the frame, engine etc are fantastic. Putting your feet forward and pushing yourself backward onto the rear wall of the seat you can suspend your butt from 5- 15 minutes and get total relief and get the circulation to that weary ASS you've been thrashing all day.
I put a Corbin Gentry seat on my Z1 Kawasaki in 1976. It was very comfortable, stylish, and stayed like new for ten years even with being stored under cover but in the cold of Ohio winters. You get what you pay for and Corbin is definitely worth buying. Glad to see they're still going strong. Surprised to see no PPE being used in the shop, and the guide wearing flip-flops.
Great tour video! I watched this before deciding to order a corbin seat, which I did. I hear highway pegs can increase your comfort on long rides. I installed some, but I havent ridden long enough yet to tune them, let alone get a personal opinion on how much comfort they provide. I am sure the stock seat on my Indian Chief Vintage needed to be replaced for longer rides and the Corbin Dual tour will resolve the pain I felt after an hour in the seat. The stock seat was super comfortable when you first sit in it, but it sinks and feels like there's barely anything between you and the frame after a while. Highway pegs will probably be good just to move around a bit after being in the saddle for an extended period of time, but i can imagine that they are totally worth it for longer rides.
My original seat on my Honda Rebel 500 was very uncomfortable. I upgraded to the Corbin seat of my design and although I'm still in the break-in period, I can already tell it's going to let me take longer rides and enjoy the ride instead of complaining about my sore ass. Your video was really cool and made me even more convinced I made a great choice.
I have the factory seat on my 2005 Triumph T 100, and after 20,000 miles, still firm and supporting. Not sure who made their seats back then, but they did quite well in my opinion. I do like the looks of many custom seats I've seen, butt, untill mine splits, tears or rips, that's out. Thanks for the tour.
I’ve always shied away due to the higher price but watching this video has kind of changed my mind. I’m mean I’ve always known they made quality seats. Seeing what goes into making one and individually custom options definitely helps to justify the price. Still have not on one yet but my Oem gen 3 SV650 seat is sucks
Absolutely love their seat. The back support of the bucketed shape is something I didn't anticipate and was surprised to discover after sitting in it. Also - you will absolutely be glad you got the heated version upgrade, if it's available for your bike model. The ride-in service is a treat, with the 50's style cafe (and free coffee) being a nice refreshment while you wait. Oh, and for those w/ EV's - they have a 32A J1772 station (you can see that in the exterior shot in the intro).
I was surprised as well when Lisa said their focus was on bucketed style seating. I think it was great Corbin focuses on improving comfort and longevity. Its a bonus that they let me use the charger at the factory.
That girl has the answers for every question. I bet if you ask her: Can YOU make me a custom seat? She'd be like Uh..... I'll have to call the marketing team which will have to call the head of design but that again would take place during the week :)
very cool to see process taken to make a seat. I was on this companies web site where you can design your own seat for them to manufacture. I use on my bike a AirHawk 2 inflatable cushion and its great for the price. turns long rides into longer ones.
Try asking Corbin about freight for overseas then !!! They are not interested in dealing with an over seas order at all. Corbin quoted me literally over 5 x the postage price another manufacturer offered & when I asked about it I was completely ignored. Ultimate on the other hand bent over backwards to see my shipment went smoothly & freight priced accordingly.
Absolute best seat on the planet ! First 1200 miles you will think your ass is going to die 😂. After that it’s 800 miles days with no but pain. I have a dual touring on my road glide and have done 800 miles days with no pain.
the seat for the 218 Goldwing I bought was horrible, no better than the bad stock seat. No help from Corbin after spending $1600. Yes I did the 2K mile break-in, but no relief.
Just a comment ,I watched a guy put in a Corbin seat and had to add an additional few washers to make sure the seat didn’t lock into the body seat mechanism which would make it very hard to take off the seat if he didn’t ,has anyone complained about that .
How much does these seats so go for,!? I have as Kawasaki 900cc Vulcan Classic Cruiser do you guys have custom seats for these bikes and ready to deliver and ship?, Can I see a catalog of seats made by Corbin that will fit my Kawasaki Vulcan cruiser 900cc motorcycle? Please text me back please, because I'm debating between a Mustang seat or as Corbin seat. Thank you very much. Oh yeah, where are we you guys located?
I've had several corbins. One for a TDM 850,KLR 650. That were good. I ordered 1 for a 93 R100RT. the wrong seat was in the box. This was in 2000. I sent pictures of the seat with the box showing the label, it was supposed to be a touring seat. Never did get the problem resolved. I tried a corbin seat on my 2013 FJR at Daytona bike week. I didn't even get out of the parking lot it was so uncomfortable. Thats bullshit about breaking a seat in. If it doesn't feel reasonable comfortable at first it never will. I took the FJR to Russell seats and had one made . It was awesome. None of that break in crap. I've had 50 motorcycles that I've put a lot of miles on . I now have a 2019 Goldwing that came with a 1-2 hour seat. Pretty sad that honda can't do any better than that . I can put more miles on my 2018 Vstrom 1000XT that I've done my own seat modification on by grinding out the hump in the middle. It's to bad the number of great motorcycles with some sorry ass seats. Thats why there are so many aftermarket seat builder's.
I had a custom Corbin seat and it looked great! But, I was the worst seat to ride on ever. It was so hard it hurt my ass. I ha to pay to have a gel pad installed under the cover. Never again. By the way, I am a hard-core ride having put over 500,000 miles on just my Goldwaings!
Yeah too bad they don't stand by their products. I bought a seat for my ninja 400 and it sits extremely crooked on the bike with the right rear sitting almost a half inch higher than the left rear. I called them and they said that it was because the rubber mounts hadn't broken in yet which is ridiculous. Also the front mounts are very crooked which is probably contributing to the problem. Whenthe first person I emailed simply stops talking to me when I pulled all I wanted to return it and then the person on the phone told me they had no way to accept a return. They basically just told me to deal with it.
I have a Corbin seat for my 2016 Yamaha FZ-07. It is a great seat and can no ride for 3+ hours easily. The stock seat is terrible. It does add a few inches to the seat height and was very weird for the first couple of hours. Afterwards you get used to the difference and feel is completely normal. These are expensive but still worth it!
Corbin's customer service sucks big time. No one ever answers the phone or responds to an email. My fjr seat did not fit at all without alterations to the latch. Ain't worth the cost.
Lisa is still there!!! I was there yesterday 12/13/2023 for the ride in. Great experience and an amazing seat!
I think Lisa knows every little detail of the whole process , she is awesome

*So great!* Thanks for this great tour.
very cool to see process taken to make a seat. I was on this companies web site where you can design your own seat for them to manufacture. I use on my bike a AirHawk 2 inflatable cushion and its great for the price. turns long rides into longer ones.
Right on! I'm glad to hear it helped you!
I know Mike Corbin. Great guy. Their diner style restaurant is cool.
Corbin made a seat for me several years ago for a Honda Rebel 1100 and it was wonderful.
They look comfortable and soft.
Yes she Does!

Absolute best seat on the planet ! First 1200 miles you will think your ass is going to die 😂. After that it’s 800 miles days with no but pain. I have a dual touring on my road glide and have done 800 miles days with no pain.
Mike figured out long ago that you need denser foam to maintain support.
Corbin has teamed up with Arcimoto and will make seats and maybe saddlebags for them.
Alternative Standard you should do a video on Arcimoto!!
Corbin seats are unbeatable. Quality is so high irs worth every penny.
I just put a Corbin seat on my Harley Davidson Livewire. Looks and feels great!
That's awesome! Did you include heated seating as well?
@@alternativestandard3303 I'm in SE Texas so we can ride year round so no heated seat needed. Winter may last 2 weeks on average. LOL
@@macmike4386 LOL. I envy your weather.
How much was your seat?
Wow thank you so much for this!
可惜 沒有中文官網 也沒有販賣至台灣 但 我還是透過朋友訂制了一張座墊 太喜歡了
Nice video. Very informative!
the seat for the 218 Goldwing I bought was horrible, no better than the bad stock seat.
Is the stitching waterproof?
Great Video Thanks So Much
Well i have a new respect for this company...i see many people using that air pad called airhawk and they like it
I've had several corbins.
I have a friend with some Corbin product with problems the customer service was so bad he never got his problem fix he gave up.
Nice .do you do one for a 1988 yamaha xv750 virgo.cheers council.kev uk
Great vid. Thanks.
I want to make a Bobber seat for a GOLDWING 86 as much as it would cost me and if it has molds to see which one I want
Interesting video.
Where did you get the gel pad installed, I need that for my bike.
Thanks

Yeah too bad they don't stand by their products. I bought a seat for my ninja 400 and it sits extremely crooked on the bike with the right rear sitting almost a half inch higher than the left rear. I called them and they said that it was because the rubber mounts hadn't broken in yet which is ridiculous. Also the front mounts are very crooked which is probably contributing to the problem. Whenthe first person I emailed simply stops talking to me when I pulled all I wanted to return it and then the person on the phone told me they had no way to accept a return. They basically just told me to deal with it.
great clip thank you
I have a Corbin seat for my 2016 Yamaha FZ-07.
