    It’s funny how I see all these people on your comment section telling you how “talented”, and how “bad ass” your work is...and it is. I’ve been doing upholstery for 44 years, have owed my own shop for 32 of them. People come to me wanting me to do that stuff for them, but don’t wanna pay for it. Champagne dreams on a beer budget.

    I've got a 50+ year old snake charmer seat that came with a lot of Triumph parts long ago. It's got BSA painted on the back, is homemade and probably weighs 20-25 pounds, and won't ever rust away. Today I'm happy, I didn't sell it for nothing back then, being a pretty early thing.

    Do u have a speed reducer on your sewing machine? And when your laying down the templates and your sketching the seam allowance, do you freestyle it? And how much room for the seam allowance? Love your work! Outstanding 🔥

    • @juiceslickrick
      @juiceslickrick  3 роки тому +6

      Yes for the heavy leather I use a cobra class 4 with a speed reducer. For most all upholstery I just eyeball 1/2 seam allowance.

    Love your craftsmanship. I see you freehanding the seam allowance. How do you make sure you are stitching an accurate seam and don't run into fitment issues?

    • @juiceslickrick
      @juiceslickrick  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks! The seal allowance come with practice but as long as you alignment notches match up when sewing you shouldn’t have any problems. On small things like motorcycles seats and bags I sometimes staple my seams while sewing so that everything lines up.
