If these manufacturers think that their seats are all of that, why don’t they give you a full refund if you’re dissatisfied because I could put on 50 miles and I’ll know right away if it’s gonna work for me and my passenger I would be able to know right away whether I’m keeping it or sending it back. Because that’s a lot of money to be shelling out for a seat that may in up on the shelf in your garage! Maybe a test ride seat? No one stands by their product anymore.😡

Totally agree with you. Got the same seat for my 2024 CVO ST (without the back rest- I feel deep enough in the seat with my lower back well maintained even without it) same stitching and color, and I just love it. My passenger loves it as well… Even with the back rest, it is so much more comfortable for longer rides…
I put a Saddlemen King 2-Up seat on my '03 Dyna earlier this year and after about a thousand miles on it, I love it. It feels great, the quality is incredible and, while a bit pricey, it's worth every cent of the $650 (give or take) I paid for it. I can't imagine anything better, but that's me.
Good video. I started shopping last year to replace the stock seat on my '20 CVO SG and while doing all the research discovered a seat cover called the Butt Buffer. And for only $125, I decided it would be worth a try. After nearly 4K miles, I'm so glad I did! Also added a custom back rest from Bad Boyz Cyclez and now I'm set! Happy to have saved quite a bit of cash
Put a Corbin on my Wide Glide. At first I hated that seat then took a 500 mile ride and was a convert. After that day I told all my friends that I took back every negative thing I ever said about my Corbin seat. Love it!
I put a new barely used Harley tractor seat, the same as the Police use. I can tell you it is awesome super super comfortable and I also added a backrest. Great price great seat.
I have owned both Mustang and Corbin through the years. I think that the Mustangs are the way to go. I currently have their touring saddle, passenger backrest and saddlebag lid covers on my 2017 Ultra Limited. The Corbin was good, but being real leather, it required a lot of additional care to maintain its good looks. I actually took it off the bike for routine washings. The Mustangs just need a good wipe down, and occasionally something like Armor All to keep the vinyl looking new. And because it is marine grade vinyl, I leave it on the bike for washing.
I got the heated Mustang super deluxe touring with back rest and tourpak back rest for my 2021 CVO Limited. Much better than the stock seat which already was tearing. I chose it because the harness plugged into the stock harness and the tourpak back rest came complete for mounting. The Saddleman would send the cover you had to have place over your existing backrest frame
I just finished a 4k+ mile trip atop my Saddlemen Explorer LS seat with the backrest on my Low Rider ST and felt great. In fact, I rode 900 miles on the last leg in 17hrs. No problems! I was so glad I bought that because I use to stop every 50 miles and take a 20-minute break. My previous trips would take 10-12 hrs to go 300 miles. Now I can do that in 5hrs.
I got a Saddlemen which is so far the best seat around. I’ve had ultimate and stock upgrades before and it’s hard and expensive to find the right seat for your ars. Plus you need to break it in and do long trips on it to figure out if it’s the right seat for you.
EXCELLENT. Thank you very much for this recommendation and coverage. I have a new '24 Ultra Limited and I am sitting too high and too close. I think this will help a lot!!
I took the stock seat from my '15 Street glide special and gave it to a buddy of mine. He replaced the stock foam with a memory foam, and the gel they use in horse saddles. Best thing i ever did on that bike. Could ride it 700miles/day without thinking. Have a '23 Ultra limited now with the mustang super touring...great seat. And i'm 6'2 325ibs.
I think Saddlemen seats are good, but until they put the same plug as Harley has for accessories, you still gotta strip wires if you choose the heated seat. That's why I like my Mustang Seat! Plug n Play with the correct plug already wired to the seat. No stripping wires & crimping wires to make seat removal more difficult later.
I like the Mustang seats as well. Everyone’s butt is different and prefers something different but, I’ve always had great comfort from a Mustang seat. Never tried anything else. Not saying Saddleman isn’t great also.
I love my Mustang seat, and if you get one with heat, it comes with the correct plug for the Harley accessory harness. No stripping & crimping with wires which makes things difficult when you want to remove the seat. That's what sold me. Plus it is damn comfortable on my Ultra Limited.
I have a mustang seat I got slightly used and agree it's the best ergo and cushion setup for a touring Harley..I never get sore legs back or neck. And I'm 6.4. 225
I'm 5'11" and I needed a little more legroom on my 2011 FLHTK. I wish I knew about the Saddlemen seat before buying the HD Tallboy, cuz it only added about one inch of legroom, compared to the two inches that the Saddlemen Extended Reach seat offers. So, maybe I'll go ahead and get the Saddlemen ER, and include my two HD seats in my next garage sale. Thanks for the info!
i got a 2024 streetglide will the saddle bag guards work with a saddleman seat? says on the website it won't but i see this video plus others with the guards on and a saddlemen seat some words of wisdom would be appreciated
I have same seat after 6. 8 hrs on it my opinion changed. It feels good for short rides but long rides not so much and after you get bout 6000 miles in if your a bigger guy that nice cushion will be gone..
I see you have bag guards. The saddleman website says the road sofa will not fit with saddle bag guard bars. Does that mean it will only work with the CVO style guard pegs?
Thx for another very helpful video! I am about the same size as you and riding the stock seat on my 23 sgs. I can reach everything ok, but want something more comfortable, and dont want farther back or higher off the ground, especially with a suspension upgrade out there for me. I heard you say, the road sofa felt like it pushed you back a little, which isnt good, but what about the height?
Did you have any issues with your road sofa and your saddlebag guard bars? Saddlemen's website says the seat won't work with saddlebag guard bars, so I was wondering if you did anything different with yours?
Did your guards fit? I ordered this seat and wanna get the saddlebag guards. Did they bolt on or did you have to fabricate anything? Did he ever comment on this?

@@ryanweigler5835 please do. I missed that detail and already ordered my Road Sofa and would love to put that Flat out saddlebag bars on to match the front of the CVO ST.
@@xXDarkHolidayXxthe guards finally arrived last week, and Harley is going to put them on this week. However, with the recall that is out for that bare wire that can cause the main fuse to blow, they may wind up keeping my bike until the repair kits come in some time next month, so I may not get a chance to see how it all fits right away.
Appreciate the review. Looking for a seat for my 2023 CVO RG. Looked at Saddlemen Road Sofa CF but, states "Will NOT work with Harley saddlebag guard bars" Did they have to do anything special to your seat to get it to fit over the guards? If not perhaps they are referring to the CVO ST style saddlebag guards.
I have the Saddlemen Road Sofa CF seat on my 24RG, and had it on my 23 CVO SG as well. If you have the traditional stock saddle bag guards (large curved type), this seat will impinge against the upper attachment points of the guards. But, the seat will fit, you just have to apply slight downward pressure to attach the seat to the rear fender. This causes the sides of the seat to bulge slightly, another words "not a perfect fit". Both my bikes have the large curved saddle bag guards, but I still was able to secure the CF Road Sofa to both bikes. The bulging is noticeable, but not excessive. And the seat feels great.
@@NVET92 Thanks for the detailed response! Much appreciated! I had a Harley Hammock on my 19 CVO Ultra and had no issue but, the stock seat on this 23 CVO RG feels like sitting on a board (to me anyway). I'm also looking at Mustang as I'm a little skeptical of seats (like Saddlemen) that require a break-in period. Thanks again!
Went on a 2 and half hour ride yesterday on it. I was good for 40 mins then it became very uncomfortable. I made it tho. It's comfortable for around town not for long rides. Feel like I am sitting on the tank. Saddleman seats are 3 weeks out to deliver. I need a seat now lol
Hmmm, just heard you mention back surgery. I just had back surgery and I can no longer ride dirtbike. However, Dr. did say I can get back on the street. Used to have a Harley Davidson Road glide but now I’m looking at a Challenger. I gotta ask what type of back surgery did you have and how do you feel now that you’re on a motorcycle with the back surgery? Of course I realize everybody’s different, but just curious. My surgery was a lumbar fusion.
Gel is comfortable. My problem with it is it is a heat sponge. I put some inserts in a seat long ago and the bike would sit outside work during the day. When I rode home, my nuts got broiled every day. All seats will get hot sitting in the sun, but that gel held the heat and dispensed it over my hour ride home everyday. I've since become a fan of Airhawks...
OK....I also have a '24 RG. The Saddlemen site says the seats don't work with Saddlebag guards. I see that you have the same guards as I do - did you have to do any modifications to make the seat work?
Did your guards fit? I ordered this seat and wanna get the saddlebag guards. Did they bolt on or did you have to fabricate anything? Did he ever comment on them? You’d think he’d let us know!
Saddlemen seats...are ok. I bought one for my Fatboy and it was a huge improvement from the old beat up stock seat, but leaves me desiring more. I borrowed my buddies Mustang seat and a Corbin seat a while back and wished I would have bought one of them instead. Seems like a lot of people pushing the Saddlemen seats are getting some kick back from the company, not a ton of folks out there recommending them who purchased them with their own cash.
Saddleman tells me they won't warranty a seat with saddlebag guards. They said the guards rub on the seat and it will create an issue. I noticed you have the new style guards - how bad is the interference? I have the same bike, but I'm 6'2" and really want to scoot back farther from the tank. I've used corbin gamblers in the past - but they were never great for long rides. I hate to spend this kind of money if they won't warranty it - and I like the guards.
Everyone has a seat opinion, and most of them differ greatly; however, I feel like Saddlemen is the "go to" for most Harley people. I have a Mustang wide touring seat on my 2016 Dyna Switchback, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
I bought one of these with backrest and it froze my ass after 50 miles. Rode it for about 5000 miles thinking it was a breaking issue, but never stopped freezing butt. Switched back to stock and square one.
I heard somebody in a video a couple months ago that they put something under their seat to block heat transfer into the seat because they are sensitive to heat and I thought it was in this video or maybe a Professional Monkey video but I can't track it down. Anyways what is it that you put under the seat to block some of that heat coming through the seat? I really can't remember and I wanna try it cuz after a while of riding it really starts to get annoying feeling the heat through the seat pan coming through.
I had a Mustang Saddle on my last touring bike, after two years it was broke in nice... I'm thinking of a Saddelman Road Sofa but I see a 6-8 week waiting list now for 2023 Road Glide's 🙄 *just wondering, what's you're height? 5'9" or so?? At 6'2 I need the extended reach as well...oi! thanx for the great content ✌👍
It’s funny how all the UA-cam influencers are all recommending the saddlemen seats😂. The seat isn’t too bad I have a few of them but, I’m rocking the mustang super touring deluxe on my 23 ultra limited and I really like it. Most people don’t like saddlemen because they’re too hard for some people.(most people) Saddlemen does make good looking seats though.
Bro, you must be a short stocky guy, I m over 6’ and I can tell you ALL HD seats vacuum (sucks). The ASR that I finally Decided on is a coast 2 coast seat. .. Ram.
I would rather wear boots with taller soles and heels than get a seat with uncomfortably thin padding. I have a Lucky Daves seat on my RG, it’s a great seat but, the vinyl they use has not held up as well as others I have used.
only problem with saddleman seats, the purchasers do not allow ample time to break it in. mine took close to a month to make it comfortable, riding daily. Now it just keeps getting better.
I just did 1600 miles on my Challenger with a new Road Sofa. Worst purchase in my life. 2 hours and my butt was screaming. Pain for hours. I hate everything about it other than the look of the stitching.
Had a Road Zeppelin and it was by far the best seat ever. It got old and I replaced it with a Saddleman Road Sofa - absolutely horrible seat. It’s a lie that they break in - have had that brick of a seat for 10k miles - total trash. The stock seat is way better.
Hello, I have a 2024 RG and I've ordered the Sundowner seat for it. Does anyone know if the Sundowner seat is any good or at least better than the stock seat (for me and my passenger)? I've already bought the adjustable backrest and don't really want to throw that money away. The Sundowner seat is the only aftermarket seat I've found that will work with my backrest.
I have a 2023 CVO RG. My local Harley let me try the sundowner. Planned a 4 hour ride to test. After an hour I turned around. It’s more comfortable than stock. But I started to feel it at the hour mark.
Road sofa is the worse seat I ever owned. Put 1500 miles on it and was still hard as a rock. Put the stock seat back on my Ultra and was more comfortable even with 35k miles on it.
Anyone else have a standard reach Road Sofa and get a lot of pressure behind your nuts after an hour or two? I have a 32" inseam and am 5'9" 205lbs for me the seat feels like it kicks up to the tank to rapidly and once my cheeks settle into the seat the portion of the seat where there is not cheek contact (behind my nuts) puts pressure where it should not. I reached out to Saddlemen and they said "thats strange as its our most comfortable seat and nobody ever has issues with them" then said i had one week left to be able to return it for a 10% restocking fee.
‘Period’……that’s the funniest thing I’ve seen on the interweb today! HATE the click bait. For me, Mustang Super Touring Deluxe w/ back rest. Is it the sexiest looking seat on my SGS, absolutely not. Can I literally ride 12 hours in a day in complete comfort, absolutely. For me, comfort trumps looks.
Seat preference is so damn subjective. Until you try one, you just won't know. I'm ok with the stock seat on my road king special so far, but want a backrest. Probably just gonna get a Harley adjustable backrest. You guys who hate stock seats must not have ridden too many sport bikes, sport tourers, or adv bikes long distance. The Harley stock seat is a dream compared to the stock seat on a Tenere 700 or a suzuki SV1000S. I guess it's all down to personal preference. Some guys like stiff (corbin), and some like soft. Some like gel, and some don't. Did he ever say he was affiliated or sponsored by saddlemen? I agree that a sponsored review is sketch, but I don't remember him saying he got one for free. He's only got 59,000+ subscribers. I doubt he's gettin a free thousand dollar seat.
Well don't waste your money on this seat if you have the tip over bars, it won't work. I ordered mine on the phone and they made no mention of the issue with the bars. Seat arrived today and it has cutouts for the bars in the seat pan, but they're not located in the correct spot, they're about 3/8" off and will certainly tear the seat. I know several people including myself have asked Hegshot about this issue, since he can't respond I figure I would. Sattlemen will return the seat, but on your dime and it was $135 for me. BUYER BEWARE, DON'T BUY IF YOU HAVE SADDLEBAG PROTECTORS. Time to go another route.
If these manufacturers think that their seats are all of that, why don’t they give you a full refund if you’re dissatisfied because I could put on 50 miles and I’ll know right away if it’s gonna work for me and my passenger I would be able to know right away whether I’m keeping it or sending it back.
Try bad boys cycle seat I've had them all and by far bad Boyz make the best seat on the market
Website says it wont work with saddlebag guards. Will it work with the straight out saddlebag guards?
Just bought a Road Zeppelin for my TriGlide because I’m paralyzed and hoping it will help with pressure sore relief. 😎👍
Best seat ever
Saddlemen now say this seat isn’t compatible with the bag bars on the 24 Road Glide?
I had a Mustang Saddle on my last touring bike, after two years it was broke in nice... I'm thinking of a Saddelman Road Sofa but I see a 6-8 week waiting list now for 2023 Road Glide's 🙄 *just wondering, what's you're height? 5'9" or so?? At 6'2 I need the extended reach as well...oi! thanx for the great content ✌👍
Did they give that seat to make a good review?
I have the advanblack gel seat super comfortable
Hey can you discuss the king tour pack pad? Between Harley and advanblack. Don’t eat to get the asvanblack if I have to get a different pad.
My Favorite seat is still the stockers
What is sarcasm for $500 Alex🤣
@@wk2038 Im serious
Same here. I have never replaced a stock seat, and I have ridden over 300,000 miles on 11 different motorcycles.
Anyone knows if the saddleman road sofa fit the 24 glide with the tip over saddlebags guard? I heard it won't fit
Indeed it does fit- let us know what you need.
It’s funny how all the UA-cam influencers are all recommending the saddlemen seats😂.
The seat isn’t too bad I have a few of them but, I’m rocking the mustang super touring deluxe on my 23 ultra limited and I really like it.
Most people don’t like saddlemen because they’re too hard for some people.(most people)
Saddlemen does make good looking seats though.
Saddleman absolutely stinks. I’ve had that horrible brick for 10k miles and my wife’s stock seat on her road kind is light years better!
Cause they are bought at paid for by the sponsors
Did you have any issues installing with your bag bars? I was going to order the road sofa but the web site said it will not work with bag guards
What exhaust are you using in some of the latest videos on the ‘24 RG?
I love my bad boy cyclez venom series seat
I have had a Saddlemen RS LS Extended Reach seat for four years and would not use anything else!
Bro, you must be a short stocky guy, I m over 6’ and I can tell you ALL HD seats vacuum (sucks). The ASR that I finally Decided on is a coast 2 coast seat. .. Ram.
Mustang touring deluxe beats this hands down! compare it and prove me wrong
I don't know where you get your information but there is no gel in the Indian seats.
I would rather wear boots with taller soles and heels than get a seat with uncomfortably thin padding. I have a Lucky Daves seat on my RG, it’s a great seat but, the vinyl they use has not held up as well as others I have used.
do they make one to fit a 2002 classic thanks
Thank you.
Damn
That saddlemen is bad ass
And I bet it costs and arm and a leg!!
OK my seat hurts my hips. Itna stock street glide seat
.I am considering the hammock seat. .
Thanks for the help
I use the stock seat on my 2021 road glide. A buddy swears by the Sundowner by harley. Has anyone used them
Saddlemen do great with marketing their seats. What keeps me from buying is how many I see with low miles being sold everywhere.
Saddleman is total garbage. I’ve had one for 10k miles - might as well sit directly on the battery cover.
only problem with saddleman seats, the purchasers do not allow ample time to break it in. mine took close to a month to make it comfortable, riding daily.
Best for your motorcycle not everyone's
Road sofa is the worse seat I ever owned. Put 1500 miles on it and was still hard as a rock. Put the stock seat back on my Ultra and was more comfortable even with 35k miles on it.
I think you better try a Mustang seat before you recommend the saddleman.
Mustang seats ARE very comfortable, But they are much wider and you will feel it on your inner thighs when at a stop
For you
Anyone else have a standard reach Road Sofa and get a lot of pressure behind your nuts after an hour or two?
They have to say that cause they are bought and paid for by the sponsors
Mustang all the way
Bad Boyz Cyclez Python is a phenomenal seat…check them out and then you tell me a better seat for the coin!
Why is dude not answering this question? How’d he get his to fit?
Couch Pilot
I can say this. I've been very unimpressed by my saddlemen. 300 miles and I'm sore. It's no better than the 15yr old LA Pera it replaced
It only gets worse
it gets better, I have a saddleman. Yes, it does take a lot of miles. More than 300. Closer to entire riding season.
@@harleyhawk7959 had mine for 10k miles - never got better.
@harleyhawk7959 of I have thousands of miles on mine. I meant after riding 300 miles I'm sore as fuk from it. My cheap ass le pera was as comfortable
Saddleman seats are junk. I tossed mine after 3000 miles. Never broke in. JUNK.
10k miles and still a worthless brick. Had to buy a gel pad.
@@JA-zh5xi Junk, crap seats! Saddleman sucks!
