For people that don't know, the guy that sat down and talked to Ezio was a Templar assassin sent to kill him but the Templar saw how he was so frail, weak and posed no real threat anymore, so he just let him live instead.

Ezio meeting Altair is one of the greatest gaming moments

Edward seeing his dead friends at the table was a moment that made grown men cry

Definitely Ezio's death, it hits home after playing the trilogy. He was able to live the life he wanted before he died since he didn't have the choice to become a Assassin and didn't want to die in a war he saw no end to. Requiestcat in pace mentore.

Edward's death was the saddest imo. He died at such a young age and his son became a templar

Bayek literally build entire brotherhood and after origin they were no trace of him

I played through Black Flag before I beat Assassins Creed 3. There's this part in Black Flag where you hack your bosses computer and one of the key files it pulls up is Desmond's autopsy report. All I remember is the absolute shock I felt having his death spoiled so nonchalantly.

Desmond's death is the worst, not because it's the saddest, but because it feels so rush and unceremonious despite the game trying its best to make it seem so impactful. He was the main protagonist of the series and it feels like his story was cut short. It's even more sad that they literally rip him apart like it's nothing.

Honestly, the saddest end here is Altair's! Raised and Died an Assassin! Brought the needed evolution of the assassins and died alone by himself to protect a dangerous artifact while also becoming the blade that severed ezio's obsessed chase of the truth...the dude saved a beloved mc from a long and lonely life of an assassin! Altair indirectly prevented ezio from living out his end like altair

Kassandra: "you know what? I could explain alot of shit to you, but i prefer to die right now"

The transition from Altair to Ezio in that cutscene when they finally meet will always be one of my all time favorite moments in gaming, period. That rotating panning shot through centuries of time from one master to another was just art in its purest form and even watching it again today still sends shivers right through me. One of the most amazing moments in the entire series. Up until that point the transitions between the two characters were a sudden switch, triggered by Ezio looking at a Masyaf key. That was the only transition between the two characters in the entire game that was totally seamless.

For me the most sad and literally unfair dead was Edward's. The guy finally found redemption after all those years of being a cruel killer for money. And what the hell the guy could clean an entire fleet alone and you are telling me that two assholes just kill him BRUH

Ezio's death made me cry, one of the greatest assassin's in the history of the world. In his famous words "resquitcat in pace"

Damn. So your telling me, Kassandra had seen all of our protagonists prevail and fall? I never knew that

I think Connor is underestimated as a character, he showed himself as a cold-blooded, laconic and unemotional assassin, Altair was once like that, he reminded me of him. Yes, he was manipulated a lot, sometimes he showed himself as not the smartest, but the character was absolutely cool. Also, he's the strongest assassin, 1 against an entire army with a tomahawk, wow. For me, he is in the top 4 best assassins, after Desmond, Ezio and Altair.

The ending to AC4 makes me cry every time, between seeing all of Edwards fallen friends at the table with the angelical tone of Anne Bonny's voice singing or just knowing that such a great game is coming to an end. It brings a tear to my eyes every single time...

That was definitely the spirit of Death at Ezio's last moment. Nodding quietly to let him know everything was okay after the coughing fit. Telling him to "get some rest"

For Haythem's death, I believe that he let Conner kill him. Haythem was more than strong enough to strangle Conner with just one hand. But he instead let go of Conner's left arm to use both of his hands which in turn let Conner use his hidden blade in his left hand to kill him. While Haythem was very dedicated to the cause of the Templars in his own way, there was still just enough conflict in him to at least give his son a chance to live even if it meant he would be killed by his own son.

Kassandra's was so tragic. Imagine living your life as an immortal and seeing your loved ones die one after the other until you are truly all alone in life. She lived so so long from when her loved one's left her. Living such a lonely life missing those you cared for in your life. I wouldn't wish that in anybody. I'm sure that she wanted to die badly sooo many times but she had the responsibility that Pythagoras gave her. The mission with her and Eivor in Valhalla just broke me. She's been through so much heartbreak. I'm sure she awaited death to finally be with her loved ones and not be in pain anymore. Not only that, but she lived through so much in history. It would be so traumatizing.
