...Just going to point out that there is 3 Positive, 3 Negative, and 2 Neutral. The Neutral most get is normal. However, they may say something similiar to the message, "This is rare. The spirits are absolutely neutral."

I am convinced that the contents of omni geodes are established at pickup. About three months ago, I experimented with three small batches of 14 each on different luck days, and when cracked open, they were precisely the same items.

It's confirmed that luck doesn't effect them, but it's not on pick up. It's actually an algorithm that determines what each type of geode will drop when you smash them. If you do the same day, smashing the same geodes, but do them in a different order, you can get different stuff. This is valuable, as you can store up a ton of geodes and just keep trying different combinations playing the same day over and over again. This is useful for hunting for certain rare artifacts and gems.

Admittedly, there may have been changes that, since my comparisons, may have effected the outcomes of geodes.
But, to give further context, I had a save file that would occasionally crash (fixed in an update about three months back) that, initially and unintentionally, facilitated the opportunity to compare how different luck days would impact the contents. I had hope to turn the crashes to advantage and get better loot out of geodes.
Ultimately, I settled on small batches to compare in order to keep it simple and to not mix up. Each day, I checked the luck, cracked the batch, but no matter what the luck was for each day, that batch produced the exact same outcome. This has led me to conclude that the contents of those geodes had been established at pickup.
Trust me, that's how it works. It says so on the Wiki and I tested it. You will always get the same stuff if you open geodes in the same order. It's not on pickup. When you open a geode, the game uses an algorithm to randomly decide what every type of geode will have when you open it next. So say, you have a geode and 2 omni geodes. If you crack open the geode first, you will set the omni geode to spawn say, a ruby. But if you open the Omni geode first, your second omni geode will spawn something else, like a topaz, or whatever. Same with the regular Geode. If you open it second after the first omni geode, it will have something different than if you open it last.
If you get 300 omni geodes then open them all and let's sag on the 211tj you get a prismatic shard. Then you get one omni geode and 210 other geodes break those them the omni geodes and then profit

I know you were trying to see how far down you got but the skull caverns are PACKED with gems. You'll make more money doing a quick scan of each level before moving on. And the purple slimes have a good chance of dropping diamonds as well as iridium so yes kill all of them. Also freaking spicy eel man. The dragons drop them (or you can make them) and they up your speed and luck, they will also combo with coffee for an extra speed boost. I always save them to use in skull cavern! My best run on a good luck day (recently that I remember) was 40,000 lv 65...search around my dudes.
Oh minus what I made off the omni-geodes and that was actually without coffee or bombs (which I almost always take) and I never found a prismatic shard that run, imagine if I had *-*
My best setup I've ever had is lucky ring, over 200 spicy eels, over 100 bombs, best luck day and over 250 staircases, iridium pickaxe, galaxy sword and triple shot expressos
I usually get lucky with the purple slimes even on bad luck days with iridium. It took forever on my 3rd game to find a prismatic shard tho. They are super rare this time!

Sebastian actually DOES help! :) I married him. He waters the plants, feeds animals (including dog). The usual, except he does it with scene kid hair.
The luck also increases your chances of finding Infested floors in the mines.
With the 1.5 update, pineapple is a great no-buff healing food. Tip for anyone attempting a deep dive.
*Burglar's Ring* doubles the item drop rate from enemies.
*Spicy Eel* meal is dropped by the Serpents (fish dragons) and gives +1 Luck +1 Speed.
So putting these together, you'll loot more of this Food than you'll eat and have constant bonus the whole time.

The Burglar's Ring and the Vampire Ring are the lifeblood of my skull cavern runs

I remember I once found three iridium nodes on the first floor of Skull Cavern. Then five serpents came and killed me.
The first time I found iriduim in skull cavern they turned into crab monsters and killed me haha

That wouldn't be very interesting, because you would have +0 and -0 luck. So its just normal
Great video, as always. I have a topic suggestion for you (if you haven't done it already): Perhaps look at the profitability of the different farm animals compared to each other and the amount of time / work. I.e. chickens vs. ducks, cows vs. goats, sheep vs. rabbits. The pigs are obviously in a class of their own, but comparing the others can be complicated. .. Maybe whether or not a barn with all one type vs. a barn with several types would make more $$, etc.
*Why* did you take your "Take-me-home" staff if you were going to ride the bus back home?

most normal players i know WILL use bombs in skull cavern too... your already swamped for time having to wait almost half the day for Pam to drive the bus.....
Two iridium nodes next to each other are rare? One time I went in skull cavern and around level 12 or so, I had six iridium nodes next to each other.
Never saw that again.

The displeased spirits actually worked to my advantage a few times when leveling my combat and collecting stuff from monsters. I also found some rare items.

hops are really good for energy and healing. and very cheap too. just need to take along a few things that are high value for pinch heals, i use purple or chanterelle mushrooms or prickly pear
i practically don't use the pickaxe just bombs.
If you plant mixed seed in the green house you get random seeds. Can you see how many different things you get by doing that
I don't think luck affects mixed seeds produce. Also in the greenhouse I think they produce whatever is in season still, except in winter when they produce spring produce. That might not be the case but that's what it looked like when I tried in-game.

If you're not cheating, slingshot plus explosive ammo is great for busting rocks
very cheap and very effective indeed

it is cheaper, 7-diameter area of explosion and only cost 100gold compare to bomb 11-diameter and cost 600g
But using ammo is quite time consuming, thus not very effective

All combination
Explosive ammo, medium bombs and ladder.
Slingshot to clear rocks in corner and narrow area, or shot it at monster around rocks.
More ladder means more iridium, but also cost you more gold. You will want to get to floor 150 before start bombing for max efficiency.
Bring hundreds of sashimi (or salad) and/or sap, eat everytime u place a bomb to save some time. These will give you around 1,5k iridium in one run with miner perk ofc.

I thought the best luck days was supposed to give you only 7-10% more luck or stuff but that seems to be wrong as it seems to make 50-200% more difference
Spicy eel is really good for the mines with the same speed boost as coffee plus the extra luck for six minutes, plus they drop from the flying green boys, and the drop chance is even higher with hight luck!
You can build stairs out of the rock you break in the mines and instantly go down a floor. Or bring a stack of rocks.

I drink coffee like crazy on my farm and around the town, but when I'm in the mines, I'm so busy, I plum forget.
Sea Cucumber + Corn(for Tortilla) + Blue Jazz = Lucky Lunch; which gives you +3 Luck
I only went into Skull Cavern 2 times on my first playthrough and still had way too much Iridium to actually use it. I took sum Lucky Lunch and Coffee then spammed the Slingshot with Explosive Ammo (pretty cheap compared to Bombs and still very effective)
Also I had a problem with not enough coal but this fixed it: Lucky Lunch and the Ring that makes enemies drop more loot (or double? idk) into Mines 50-60 and killing Dust Sprites

You should see how far you can get down Skull Cavern with the time frozen, but the only energy/health items you can use are what you find in the mines. Like, green flying things dropping spicy eels or hoeing up cave carrots.
I've been struggling so hard on skull caverns that i ignored it for a while till i found out about the tractor mod through DF, thank you for making my mining experience a breeze
Oh a super luck day, I made it to level 100 without trying so hard! On my first attempt, I used ladders and bombs to find ladders or shafts but on my second game, I was able to get there without ladders or bombs :O how far you go down the mines really depends on your luck! I also ended up finding more treasure chest floors too in a good luck day

What I’ve found is that the 2nd worst luck (bats) is worse than the very bad luck day. I don’t know how that works, but the very bad luck is really equivalent to a neutral day

I guess it's a good idea to go mining on really bad luck days if you're goal is to get that 1,000 slime kill ring since you seem to get more monster levels. It's a quick way of racking up that kill counter. Also if you find a monster level in the 40's in the mountains you can exploit that for coal by repeating that level over and over again.
For some reason I have more luck in skull cavern when it's a bad luck day lol

Best strategy to go down the skull cavern:
Go only on a lucky day.
Bring totems to both sides.
Go early.
Bring a lot of bombs and destroy everything with them so u can find ladders/holes.
Don't waste your time on killing the monsters, just go.
Bring a lot of food that gives you additional luck.
Bring an iridium pickaxe (ofc).
Make staircases along the way with the stone you got from exploding stuff.
Drink lots of coffee.
Hope i helped you out a bit.

the biggest influence for luck in the mines is what spawns, the ladders are affected but not as much as what you get
I am new to the channel but I feel 90% sure the reason you did this video was to say shaft and deepness as much as you have. So, liked for that possibility alone.
For reference, the daily luck is a range of -0.3 to 0.3. Even if you go on a bad day, eating a single luck-up item puts you well over your best-day luck. Using a +3 luck food on a best-luck day gives you 3.3 luck, while a worst-luck day is 2.7.
It would be interesting to compare these to your non-food runs.
I bought 6 artifact troves and after that I had 4 omni geodes left. I opened all 6 artifact troves but I got nothing new, but then I opened the 2nd of the 4 omni geodes and I got a prismatic shard. That's very uncommon.
Sometimes for me, relative bad luck days (not the worst bad luck days) happen to provide more goodies and more fun in the skull cavern mines while really good luck days didn't do much, it must've been just pure luck for me on those "bad" luck days.
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times...
My only argument here is that you find better stuff from the monsters and you obviously find more of them on a bad luck day. Also, if your concern is the amount of drops from them, your haul will be much better if you equip a Burglar Ring, which you can get from the Adventurer's Guild for slaying 500 Dust Sprites. It's my favorite way to go down there. Otherwise, he's absolutely right; you do find more ladders (and shafts) on better luck days.

Skull cavern floors that are divisible by 5 do not seem to take floor level into account when determining spawns.

Metagrinner geodes are set when you pick them up, it doesn't matter when you process them.
The fortune teller lied to me.... I had bad luck at the start of a newer game and I decided to go fish. I got four rare fish three were silver stars, a gold star and two silver of common fish. And one really good chest with a few other chests...

Omg I TODAY actually found THREE iridium nodes on floor one I was like no way I thought it had to be crabs but three next to each outher would be even rarer
The unfortunate part of the skull Cavern is mostly to sing you're looking to find there is iridium so if you have bad luck you won't find really any iridium however you might find a bunch of copper or iron I went in the skull Cavern on a bad luck day and found a bunch of really valuable material just no iridium
you dont get alot of anything before you hit the lower levels 100+ having those 10-20 stacks of stone for ladders is so worth it!
dna2078 yeah for the most part I try to go mining in the skull Cavern every single day or at least every other because even if it's a bad luck day I still find good material and once you get far enough down it doesn't matter how bad your luck is every 25 level drop rates increase which ultimately make your luck irrelevant plus just eat some food that increase your luck and boom even the worst of luck days you could get decent material and resources

I tell you what, when I watch your videos, I want to play Stardew. When I watch some other videos, I feel an aversion to it. I feel like you play the game sort of how one should. (some other people seem to turn it into Stardew City: Yuppy Hipster, which is a different game)
