- Today we have NPC's vs trees! RIP Shane... just what I've always wanted! Turns out you can plant trees all over town so that the NPCs have to deal with them. Any more fun ideas out there let me know!! Stardew Valley gameplay with my commentary as always!

I love how pam is unstoppable in order to get to the job she loves but if you block shane from work he reveals his vampire nature and goes flying with his cousin as a bat
And we always thought Sebastian was the vampire!

Jas is Marnie's neice so she could still be Shane's cousin as well as his god daughter
Barricorn the story says something bad happened to Jas' parents and Shane was friends with them so he became her god farther. Then he moved in with his aunt and because he calls her aunt Marnie Jas started doing it too. Like many kids tend to do.

Jas is a smart kid
Put some fences around and try to guide all the npc into a nice cage. I recommend putting Pam in a separate cage, creatures like her tend to became violent when feeling trapped.

I didn't think we could learn anything new about this game. Clearly I was wrong, and now I have some experimenting of my own to accomplish.
The mighty Pam is smart enough to dodge trees, and Shane and Jas can fly and disappear. We’re all doomed.
what ever penny was teaching the kids its working can we learn how to walk on water better yet can penny teach us what ever shes teaching the kids cause the way Jas just pass thru objects and walk on water seems like she gained some skills and shane has the power of mimicry as he just did what jas did

It's interesting that the way that the NPC's deal with pathing failures is to go off the map and cease to exist.

Take the making people vanish to the extreme. So you made Shane and the girl vanish, but what about Penny and the other kid? can you get the mayor to vanish? He after all does try to visit clint. If these guys vanish for more than a day, what happens if you vanish the mayor and then go to a festival that requires you to talk to the mayor to get things started?

It's more like a proto brain. She can "see" and "hear", we know that because she "responds" to people talking to her. Her responses are MOSTLY appropriate to the situation. Now we know that she can avoid obstacles, instead of just bashing through them. I do not know what level of awareness that takes, nearly all animals can do it. It would take more experiments to know where to place her on that scale. Trashpam needs to be monitored, it is not yet know if it is a danger to the world.
You managed to cause the NPC mapping to redirect the NPC's path only to have it find no path and glich out. The reason why Shane walked on water was because the mapping glitched out but didn't tell the game that the npc couldn't reach its destination and caused the game to continue on due to it being unable to go against its code. The game still gliched out because of the mapping shut down, the only way to fix Shane is to walk out of town and back again to update that tile set.
This needs more upvotes.

I looked at the maps, and it should be EASY to eradicate the Vampire (along with Glasses, bad Step-Father, and Robin) by planting trees around the entrance to their house.
In theory, this should also mean you could make Lewis run off into the void if he decides to visit Robin to collect taxes.
I NEEEEED to see more of this glitch you've discovered. Do they come back the next day? What other constraints are there? Can you trap people in mazes that completely screw up their schedule and trap them outside for insane periods of time? This is SUPER important knowledge!!!
Edit: And if it does "kill" NPCs, how many CAN you kill? Clearly you can get rid of any that need to go to the other side of the river (anyone who goes to Joja Mart, Clint's, or the Library), but how many total is that? Penny and the kids for school, Sam and Shane for work, Pam and Jodi shop at Joja, Elliot reads, and Clint visits the bar/Lewis visits Clint...but who else?

I think it is incredible how smooth the NPCs just identify and dodge obstacles without them having to bump into it first.

Chris Jones there are other NPCs that you might be able to cut off from other areas, possibly leading to similar situations. Curious if Shane respawned the next day
You can block Willy and Elliot from leaving the beach.
Great Brandini from what ive done (and i dont suggest doing without mods skipping time) shane does not respawn

A couple weeks ago I saw this same thing happen to Vincent.He was moving a lot faster than he should have and he went straight through a hill that you can’t go through instead of taking stairs.
Okay, my brain goes to weird yet places.
When you mentioned that Pam was dodging your trees, Death By Glamor started playing in my head and I envisioned you magically making trees burst from the ground, and Pam was striking Jojo poses while dodging them.

to be fair, using a mod, DF probably married and divorced pam at one point.
If you have CJB item spawner, you should have the basic CJB cheats (including auto-grow for crops and trees), right?
That might've saved you a few years...then again, if that's the price paid to see Shane walk on water like a drunken messiah, it was time well spent.

I love how they just pause and discuss if they should or not activate their super powers, they probably knew they wouldn’t be able to turn anymore and would eventually vanish at the end of the map but did it anyway :)

You should try following them to see where they go by using the minecart to get past the trees. You could also follow other npc's that are blocked from their usual routine including Jas, Vincent, and Penny going to the museum, lots of npc's shop at the Joja Mart, Haley and Alex in the summer
