Awesome Rodney! Do you think that if you put only one Tigo Optimizer on the first or last panel in a string it could be used to do a Rapid Shutdown of that string?
Hi Rodney. Thanks for the informative video, I have another question, The limits for the TS4-A-o are 700 watts , what prevents me from paralleling 2 panels with 300 watts each to 1 optimizer.?
Rodney...I cant find anything that explains how to connect the CCA (black and green box) to a power source. I have an EG4 6000xp inverter. How did you wire yours?
Thanks i set up mine with an optimizer/shutdown on each of my 16 panels with the tap and cca wired up as instructed but could not connec to the app for monitoring
@rodneyhunt no, I couldn't figure out how to, the instructions are horrible and there aren't any good videos I could find for the setup. I'm not good with tech lol
Hello, i have 15 panels in string and only 5 panels in the middle of string are shade prone. Can i put optimizer on any panels or only on first or last ones? I think that i can, but i need your opinion too. Thank you in advance!
I have 7 panels, all with tigo optimizers installed as a blind install (not the best, I know). Total system is 2Kw. I've noticed that when two panels are shaded it can bring the whole system down to generating about 500w, even on a full sun day at midday. I would hope the optimizers would bypass those two shaded panels and still allow the remaining 5 panels to generate up to ~1500w. Would this indicate a faulty optimizer? Would installing the Tigo CCA kit help keep system power up?
They should work without CCA kit but like you said without monitoring it’s hard to troubleshoot a potential problem. Maybe skip one panel a day to see if it improves. If it does then maybe you have a connection or optimizer problem with that panel. An idea at least. I still suggest Tap and CCA as your best option. Is the shade early morning or late evening only? Maybe that is why power is lower since other panels are not getting direct sun if so.
@RH brother can’t wait to see your full deployment video! Keep the great content coming!
Coming soon!
Thanks, Rodney! I assumed you had to put them on every panel every time.
Yeah they are pretty versatile! 👍
Thanks for the great info Rodney
You bet 👍

No. It will only work for that one panel.

I think the max voltage is 80 and amps 15. Just verify but if in the correct range it may be possible. I would contact tigo directly to verify though.
@@rodneyhunt thanks for your response. yes, its 80v/15a. i'm sure they would say no so I would buy the other model.

I wire it to a 120v breaker in my ac panel.

Did you add each optimizer/shutdown module to the app? The setup is a little weird but using the app did work for me.

Any panels will work. So you can just install on middle shade prone panels
