Which tip was most helpful for styling your outfits? Jeans, sneakers, or something else?

Definitely the jeans. I always was sad how skinny jeans would highlight my thighs and I love boot cuts. The trendy kick flares now might be something fun for me to try!

I'm going on a two-week trip to Italy and was planning to bring some simple white sneakers. But they're really not me, and you just gave me permission to do something different. So thank you!

That’s my favorite thing to hear! You absolutely get to wear whatever feels most like you. Have a fabulous trip! Italy is AMAZING!

I was born in 1989! But I HATE skinny jeans 😂 I fought that trend so hard! Flares or bootcut have always been my favorite. (yes, I’m talking about the days when I wore low-rise flares in the 2000s 😂) I loathe how skinny jeans appear on my body, so I ONLY ever wore them with tall boots. Great video!!! You talked about some aspects that I hadn’t considered.

I wish you had advised me about skinny jeans a decade ago. 😂 😂 Might have saved me from unreasonable body consciousness.

Argh as a fellow millennial I have skinnies, big bags and little white sneakers. I also have a collection of statement earrings. Love that your videos aren’t just a neutral colour palette as I love bright colours but find it hard to find inspiration so really glad I’ve found your channel.

LOL! And you know what?? If it's part of your personal style and it flatters you, then keep wearing it! I always look at trends as style possibilities, but not something to automatically change just to be en vogue. The point is to evaluate what's truly flattering versus what was a default part of style because of a trend we grew up with. It sounds like you understood it! 😉

Completely agree with chunky sneakers Priska! Took me a while to get my head around this as well 😊 btw nice guns 💪🏼 can you make a video about your gym/health routine? You look amazing!

Thank you! 😊 Honestly, I work out, but I think the arm definition has more to do with genetics. I carry fat more in my hips, so my upper body has always shown muscle more. However, I would LOVE to show my wellness routine. Let me poll my subscribers and see if they are interested in my health habits, too. Stay tuned...

I have no hips or butt, just nice thighs. I love flares, but I'm probably never going to be out of skinnies because I have actually tried straights, moms, boyfriends, and wide-legs and all of it made me look like Billie Eilish -- not exactly a style goal of mine. Skinnies just make me look more like a 1950s bombshell like Audrey Hepburn. Some of us are rectangles who need to dress our rectangle bodies, and we can't do that if most of the other styles of jeans make us look like we're wearing diapers.
Them chunky sneakers can get gone, though. :D

I'm a mellinial and you're so right about the skinny jeans part. It was very hard for my brain to accept that I shouldn't be wearing skinny jeans anymore lol. I finally bought my very first pair of wide leg jeans only last year, and boy does it flatter my shape way better (I carry most of my weight on my hips, just like you). I still own a couple of pairs of skinny jeans that I now rarely wear just because I have them, but I've also ordered a couple pairs of flared jeans which I'm very excited about. Also the big hand bag thing🤦🏻‍♀️. I bought a quite expensive large handbag last year and it's still sitting in my closet untouched, because obviously I found it too big for my needs and style nowadays. When I bought it my mellinial brain was telling me that I should buy the largest possible bag 😂. I will use it eventually but I regret buying it.😅

Haha! I giggled reading this. It's sooooo true! We get stuck in our skinny jeans & oversized bags routine, and those pieces sit around unworn. Yay for you for stepping outside of your comfort zone and finding pieces that flatter your body! 👏👏👏

Great video - I’m in the middle of it. I’m a millennial and I love skinny jeans bc I have a long torso and short legs. To me, high waisted skinny jeans lengthen my legs and in the 90’s I never felt sexy in the baggy jean styles. I looked frumpy even tho I’m petite. I like flares so I picked those up and I have some boot cut styles I got. I want to stay fresh and get outside of comfort style but I can’t shake that we are moving away from sexy silhouettes to more masculine and frumpy baggy or mom like jeans and low heels. I guess I’ll get used to it.

It sounds like you're doing a good job trying things outside of your comfort zone. And since you have a longer torso, high waisted is pivotal for you. So, good job! I try to convey that style is very personal, but with this video, I wanted to challenge you to think outside of assumptions about what looks good based on past experience. And it sounds like you're open-minded about trying new things. That's all it takes. It's not about following trends, but using those newly available styles to see what really flatters *your* body. You're thinking exactly the way I'd hoped for! So, thanks for sharing your thought process. I love it!
