It was a pleasure having you drop in for the arvo Johnno, my young fella has grin from ear to ear! The Grange exhaust was replaced last week, sounds even better now. Good review mate, and good to meet ya bloke!
@@alanpaardekooper1148 It still has the HSV short four into one headers, now with high flow cats and three inch XForce. It had standard blocked up cats and three inch bashed up supercheap auto brand mid section and no rear resonator. The sound is so much crisper now...and a little louder.
Awesome to see you finally get a grange on the channel! Cool that it's manual converted. Once owned a wh caprice and was such a nice and comfortable car. A massive boat but so cool.
Land yacht that aged like a fine wine. I'll never forget when i was in year 8 in 2002 and saw a year 12 kid rock up with one, we were blown away and we thought he was rich (his dads car) lol. Then a month later the cops pulled him over at the front of the school due to an 18yo driving a V8. I still remember thinking this was the pinnacle of technology and luxury 🤣. But damn, this car is so nostalgic and brings back so many memories.
owning a standard model vf not a luxury rated car but its extremely interesting to me looking at these older cars and seeing what was considered luxury back before i knew anything about vehicles, a lot has changed just makes you wonder what will be considered luxury in 20 - 30 years time when our extremely well made cars are considered old and cruddy
Plenty of rear leg room! Mate I'm only 5'7 I could go camping in the back lol. Sat in back of one a few months ago, I was shocked at how much room there was. I love the Grange grill's on all the models of them. Look's great.
This will be cool! I never understood why Holden and Ford were using auto transmissions that were hampering both performance and economy... Maybe it was the cost? This will be a fun Aussie land yacht in a manual, can't wait!
Man that would be a dream land barge! And yeah didn't all HSV's get those tools? My dad's vx Clubby had those but no cup holder, it only had the rear table holders lol
why do you not have your own motor show on television ? no eeers or uhhhms ,incredibly articulate well versed in whatever your presenting i mean it makes sense as who do we have in Australia pushin these types of vehicles to us ?
I have driven manuals (my preference) since getting my licence in 1978. Unfortunately my wife (of 35 years last month) suffers from motion sickness so I'm forced to drive only automatics (a WL Caprice LS1 right now).
If the alloys where a grey or matte grey finish would enhance the look of the vehicle better as the black really doesn't go with dark blue paintwork. My opinion 😊
I reckon Johnno was being a little soft on the loud pedal, and didn't really exercise the tacho to full deflection when he did that! Also the exhaust system was blocked up, which has been replaced since then. Drives much better now.
In reality it'd be around 2k labour + price of the box and loom. Used to do manual conversions, I did a few on statesmans/caprices/granges and it wasn't much different from doing a standard VT/VX from memory.
@@MetalSnakers that’s a standard T56 swap. This is a TR6060. Different gearbox, different computers, different mounting, heaps more buggerising around to get it to even run
@@deathstrokear1483 yeah I poorly worded it, I was more talking about just getting a standard manual/t56 into a WH, as anyone doing this conversion would probably be doing it themselves it'd be hard to price

There was no age restrictions on v8's in 2002

@ryan sullivan easy fix for the 4 speed autos is to get them built right and install a set of 4.11 diff gears.
@@victorpeirce4753 4.11s spooled LSD, shift kit, billet innards, big old cooler and a BTR will handle anything under 550/600kw all day every day
your ending describes it perfectly HAHA
@ryan sullivan They might've been good on the straights, though when a corner came around... These transmissions suffered...
I must add that the 4 speeds are good if you rebuild them and use it for drag racing though when it comes to a corner, these transmissions suffer...

bloody brilliant.. thats how it should have been made :)
