No auto is quicker down the quarter my buddy blows stick shifts away on the track yes 6speed but street driving and drag racing go auto the boxes are basicly tricked out vet boxes when ya talking vz clubsport or Maloo utes I know my shit more then this guy bro I don't even own one but Ive seen wat they do to other commodores and Ford's and jdms even a lambo lol but I admit the guy in the lambo was in experienced and couldn't shift for shit this review made me lol the guy seems to sound like his reading a script dam no joke he should be talking this model up way more there engines are so powerful and the combo is so perfect changing even a cam or messing with the specs can make the engine lose power 🤣my buddy was told the only sensible next step to adding power is a turbo or supercharger don't mess with the engine specs for such a smooth cam it's pushing out so much power close to 400hp with numbers like that auto is the way to go lol he raced a 6speed every gear change my buddy pulled away 1 car length down a quarter 3 or 4 car lengths is a big diff in time down a quarter a 12 sec pass against 13 both factory standard not even exhaust mods I know my shit bro

When they came out in 05 I fell in love with the aggressive lines the car had but could never afford one new... I brought 1 5 years ago for 15k and today is insured for 45k with 280k kms on her

Since buying her I've given her a closed door respray and has pretty much sat in my garage since with her only coming out for the odd owners club meetings. She wasn't a perfect example by far hence the respray but is still original with no mods or factory options.
Absolutely hearing you. I traded in my 16VFSS Redline for my dream boat 08FGXR6T.. Had 13000km on the clock and unmolested and not driven for the previous 5 years. Tasteful mods gave me 340kw and my forever car.. Having said that, the noise that SS made ❤️
I live in Mackay North Queensland and remember one early morning out in Mornanbah and the shift changes at some of the mines was taking place - literally the cars going past me were HSV, HSV, FPV, SS, HSV, FPV and so on - the car park was a car show of hot ford and Holdens

Those VZs club sports didn’t come with 3,7s like the others the auto and manual both had 3,45s 6 speed boxes had different ratios to the VY and earlier so they made a change to final ratio
I owned a Fusion VZ CLUBSPORT from new for five years and that was my favourite colour with the next best being Devil Yellow. The VZ CLUBSPORT was a great drivers car and a great cruiser. Boy do I regret selling my VZ CLUBSPORT now. I am debating whether to get a VZ CLUBSPORT R8, VZ Senator or a VE Senator Signature just for it’s collectibility.
I remember when these came out, it was all about the 297 number and race to hit 300, everyone wanted a 300kw car then they went 307 and it was like utopia

I also think they were so invested in E Series that they wanted to keep that 300+ number for them. This is a Gorgeous Car. This is definitely our equivalent to some of the European V8s like the Audi S4 or C55 AMG. What's annoying is these R8s are super expensive and even a base model commodore or Berlina with a manual gearbox goes for like 10k or more
What happened to all these early/mid 2000s clubsports and SS models? 2005 feels like it wasn't too long ago, but I hardly see them around anymore in Sydney. Did everyone lose interest and sell them when the VE came out? or did they simply garage them when Holden shut shop? Same thing with turbo JDM coupes, all but vanished from the street once they started appreciating. I guess with the release of SUV and dual cab after dual cab updates every year I didn't realise how long ago we left the last performance car period.

Yesterday in Newport QLD Aus I saw a 1947 Ford.I think the model was Super deluxe that 47 ford sounded nice but not as good as that HSV VZ R8 definitely not as fast and that HSV.I also just wanted to let you know I subbed to you and I love your video your the best car UA-camr I’ve seen in a long time!! Does that HSV have brembo brakes??

you just can't beat a yellow devil vz hsv. I have a vz maloo yellow devil it always snaps heads.
I owned a Fusion VZ CLUBSPORT 4speed auto from new for five years, so that is my favourite colour with the next being the Devil Yellow.
The VZ CLUBSPORT was a great drivers car and a great cruiser.
Boy do I regret selling my CLUBSPORT now. I am debating whether or not to get a VZ R8, VZ Senator or a VE Senator just for it’s collectibility.
