He make's the best fly fishing film's what i'm see. People dont know how much hard work is behind it. Really big respect for all the great movie's. I really hope that another part about steelhead comes out. Greeting's from germany.
The Hydes are a wonderful fly fishing family. Yamsi Ranch should be a bucket list destination for any spring creek fly angler. Word to the wise, get in shape before you go. Great video!
A beautiful film with a lovely soundtrack. That sunset at the end... I'd stop fishing and just let the whole scene wash over me. It makes me want to get out on my beloved Lough Corrib in the west of Ireland. Thanks
I had the good fortune to sit down for a couple hour visit with Gerda Hyde while I was analyzing this watershed. I also grew up next door to Gert Boyle. There are actually two "Tough Mothers" in this world and each of them earned their reputation honestly.
At a time when we are under the ban on traveling because of the virus here in Scotland and not been able to get out trout fishing these videos are a God send for us and music plus the scenery are fab ,your work with the reel fitting are a work of art , God bless from the jocks over here in Scotland ✊🎣🏴
I know what you mean, I grew up not far from that ranch in this video in Southern Oregon and I am also stuck in quarantine in Washington State. I have been watching one fishing video after another itching to get out.
Well done again, thanks Todd! Your travels and the people you meet and then pass on their passions for our outdoors and nature is so inspiring. Only two more weeks until my year long wait will come and I'll be fly fishing the waters of N. Western BC for steel on the fly! Please keep these coming for all of us, so much anticipated and appreciated in your videos. Hope to meet you someday in person to thank you!
I have to say Todd Moen has the "Best" videos I have watched, and I have watched them over and over with delight at how he finds and films the greatest artists flyfishers and locations in the world....Bravo & Thank You 🎣🙀🙏✌️
i'ts so damn beautiful I could cry. Your videos really portray the bond you get from wetting your line with the same person over and over. Through the best and worst days, fly fishing with your family or friends is so rarely appreciated for what it is. It's magic.
Hello my friend, i wish i was there. Wonderful nature. You have a wonderful life. Love greatings to your son. Love greatings from Karsten. Germany. May god protect you and your family. WWG1WGA
I like fly fishing because it lets you come close up and personal to the fish and that it is so quiet, it feels like its just you there and the nature! :)
One of Moen's best videos. So glad the music wasn't hard rock like in some of his other videos, which I believe really detracts from the quality of the video experience. Flyfishing to me is an experience away from the loud noise and stress of the city -- and it deserves music that is commensurate with it. But that's just me.
I could not have, and certainly have not, said that better. Thanks for doing so. Everything's legitimacy in the out doors is now (usually) gaged by its adrenaline potential. Almost all activities are marketed and framed with the word ADVENTURE. It gets to me.
Many wonderful comments about this video. It’s obvious these guys most importantly wanted to share the beauty of being out on the water, and catching trout was a nice bonus. Parked this one in my “favorites” folder for fly fishing!
Nice trip down memory lane! A couple decades ago I literally wrote the book on managing this watershed for the feds. There is a great Hex hatch here as well. The Williamson watershed taught me to design fishing habitat like no other. I am very grateful to this place.
Outstanding video presentation. I was a student for 8 months in Corvallis Oregon back then in 1996 and I can still smell the pine tree from this video. Too bad, I love fishin when I was student in Oklahoma.
This is one of the best videos of any sort I've seen. Moen does many things well here: good commentary, excellent photography (especially closeup stuff), good music, refreshing variety in filming . . . all good. I like the combination of different perspectives in a visual stream that isn't frenetic, yet it sustains interest.
...never felt like I got it and knew no one around who fly fished so it's been leaning in the corner where my other rods hang for a bit...THIS video just motivated me to pick up and try again!
Todd, this is an incredible video. I really felt the sense of peace, rest, beauty & legacy. From the great as always cinematography to Tony Furtado's song, this video was something new and I'm just in awe of what you've done. Thank you Sir!
I fished there in June, 1989. We caught a few fish, but it was very difficult fishing. The mosquitoes, in the evening, were horrendous-- even with the use of repellant. It is a beautiful area.
WOW! ... I'm deeply impressed ... wonderful pictures of breathtaking nature-fishing-scenes ... CONGRATULATIONS! GREAT WORK! ... have you ever thought about making a full cinema version ... !!??

Absolutely great video. I’m on the water right now with him instead of being trapped at work for another 5 hours!!
Very cool. Hope you guys got into them today!!!

I’ve seen a lot of fly fishing documentaries on UA-cam, but this has to be the best one I’ve seen. Just beautiful videography!

Beautiful video so cool to see you out there with your son, heart warming and inspiring. Thanks!
Thanks for the comment. Tom and John are a special father/son combo. Two great humans. Thanks for watching!!!
Beautiful. And the whole father-son thing had me just about choked up. I feel so honored to call both of my grown children my best friends.
Thank you i am just coming to fly fishing again at age 66. Will follow you and learn . Tight lines Rich in CA

Epic!!! Catch Magazine is a gem! I am a photographer and fly fisherman and this is a pure inspiration!

Cowboy sure can fish. Patience setting his hook is a thing of grace. Had to say something.
I agree Ben. Thanks so much for watching!

Thank you Todd.
Perfection.
Very welcome
Long time honored friends of my father and grandfather...wonderful family.
Just came across this absolute gem of a video! Takes me back a few years when I lived in a place where I could indulge in fly-fishing for wild trout
This is one of the best videos of any sort I've seen. Moen does many things well here: good commentary, excellent photography (especially closeup stuff), good music, refreshing variety in filming . . . all good. Unreal place, unreal fisherman, unreal production!

Wow! Brookies, I wasn't expecting that!
I fished there in June, 1989. We caught a few fish, but it was very difficult fishing.
The mosquitoes, in the evening, were horrendous-- even with the use of repellant.
It is a beautiful area.
Gorgeous.
So good... totally embodies what fly fishing is about.

I fish the lower part of this river near the forks. Huuuuuge redbands. Biggest was just under 9lbs. This river has my heart!

Супер! Очень понравилось!
Very nice production!
Therapeutic, thanks.
who else was on fishing on the same river, smae day, same time, and same reason, But didn't ever see them.
Great video! Like!!
The reason the fish are so big in the Williamson River is the bugs, billions of them, every kind of bug in massive clouds.
$400 per day (with a three day minimum) might seem like a lot, but where else can you find fishing like this?
how about Just a Floro carbon tippet so in a effect you have micro sink tip
Hermoso lugar donde?
Oregon State.
