I am gonna get the FX30 to compliment my FX3, with that being said, the fan in the FX30 will keep me from sweating bullets on any client shoots in a hot or warm environment.

shoot in normal 4k or hd (fx30} without a high spec computer and editing software the rest is pointless and overkill for anyone not doing it on a pro basis, i love the cameras form factor and the sigma 18=35 and thats good enough for me, i have a a7iv and nikon z6ii for photography, These aren't comparable really , Ones geared to video the other is a photography tool with good video
You got the graphics mixed up in your video. FX30 is at the bottom and A6700 is at the top but u got your graphics pointing to the fx30 at the top and a6700 at the bottom. But u probably can’t change it anyway.

I’m glad I haven’t picked up an a6700 yet, it sounds like a ZV-E10 II will be announced soon. So, I’m curious to see how these compare over the next few months.
Same! I love my zv-10 to death. Really wanted something with an evf paired with killer video/picture qualities. The BIGGEST issue was overheating. I rented the A6700 and it constantly cut off. (86 degrees in shade)..smdh. I’m praying, the zv-e10 Mach 2 can handle the new chipset with no fan. Should be released next month!!
And then there's Xperia 1 that can record 4K/120fps video on all three cameras since Mk4. I don't deny either A6700 or FX30 will produce far better photo quality than the Xperia. But if I only care about videography, I may as well go compact with the Xperia. This is still not an easy decision to make.

The A6700 seems truly excellent. It's a remarkable machine not only for those creating content on social media but also for certain professional tasks. Now, why on earth didn't SONY make the ALPHA 7IV capable of shooting in 4k 60p without any cropping or even up to 4k 120p? Cheaper cameras with smaller sensors can already achieve that. And we're not talking about an entry-level camera here. Perhaps it's time for SONY to consider updating some of their cameras?
well, they cant right now without compromise. Remember, it's coming off of a 33mp sensor, so there is a ton of oversampling that has to happen to get it down to 4k, which Is pretty processor intensive. I know other manufacturers have pulled it off, but sony is already carrying A LOT processing wise with all of this tech. A viable solution would have been to give us a line skipped or pixel binned 4k/60 without a crop as an option. Id be happy with that. The 6700 is only oversampling from 26mp on an aps-c sensor, which is much less data to compress than a 33mp full frame. Hope thet makes sense

I loved my fx30, but just sold it yesterday. Couldnt justify keeping it around anymore, as my use cases for it continued to fall. My A7siii has great heat dissipation software, so I just use that now for client work and talking heads. My A74 takes care of stills. Thinking of adding the ZV-E1 for travel content and run and gun, because I think I'm done with APS-C...
this is the exact reason I picked up a ZV-e1. its such a dope little camera

Planning to upgrade my a6400 to a6700. Just hoping that I would get the same detail/quality in stills like a6400 (I use some FF lenses). Means no downgrade in stills right?
I know its now 26MP (6192x4128), but that little increase is not everything.
Whereas I know for video it would be a true upgrade.

Enjoyed the tabletop camera battle approach…loads of info…thx. Now I’m curious how the a6700 compares to the A7IV for stills…seeing that both have similar resolution but different sensor sizes. 🤔 Will Terry do a video? Doesn’t hurt to ask. 🙏🏾 🙃
CORRECTION: confused this with the Canon R7’s similar megapixels count with the A7IV. But I STILL think the a6700’s features warrant a comparison with the A7IV as a hybrid camera option.

I have the FX30. So, I think the a6700 will make a great 2nd cam to my FX30. The a6700 has the same sensor as the FX30, and from tests I've seen it has the same dual base ISO of 800 and 2500. Add the AI focus and reframing feature, and you have a quite capable camera when compared to the FX30. Plus, the new swipe left menus on the monitor really make run and gun shooting even easier.

This is a GREAT comparison. I think I'd go with the A6700. I find the viewfinder extra useful, I also prefer the smaller body for traveling.

Neither. The X-S20 with the fan. Cheaper and with 6.2K Open Gate video. The USB Streaming of the FX30 is really old school can only do 14FPS in 4K while the S20 can do 4K60 USB
Fair! But you are missing out on the superior lens ecosystem, digital mics, autofocus ability and AI. That xs20 is a monster but I wouldn’t choose it over the a6700
@@TerryWarfield True about the lens. However xs20 comes with an upgraded processor (same chip as in x-h2s) and there is no more issue with auto-focus. Fuji also keeps on updating their firmware which improves AI detection for objects. Sony have a habit of abandoning their cameras and force users to upgrade.

I love the fx30. Now, The only reason why I want the 6700 is the AI and the mechanical shutter 😅 other than no need. 😂 now I’ll be getting the a7CII to pair it with my a7iv and the fx30
My first camera was the a6600 and I still love it. The addition of the front scroll wheel on the 6700 has me buying this one just for that feature alone. I don't care if they changed anything else.
Terry both of these camera's are great but i am going to opt fir the Sony A74 as i can film in both Full Frame and in Crop Mode and i get uncropped 120fps 10 bit despite it being in 1080HD

The FX30 has a Multi/Micro-USB-Port, where a wired Lanc Remote should be possible to use. The a6700 doesn't. Do you know, if it is possible to use the USB-C-Port for Lanc Remote?

Hey man, I use a Sony a6100 + 16-55mm f2.8 G for my top down camera. It can be accomplished with any camera and lens. It’s all about lighting and knowing how to set the camera up

Going for work FX30
An EVF is everything. Ordered two, one for me, and one for my adult daughter. Already have FX30, hoping Sony makes an attachable External EVF for the FX30 and other Sony cameras made without an EVF. Specs of the a6700 state, a6700 has FHD 240fps S&Q, looking forward to that. Other Sony cameras with 240fps use a modified HD. If true the a6700 with true 1080p FHD 240 fps is an awesome uprade. Liked your straight up review.

I’m stuck!!! I’m more of a videographer but still take some photos, does the a6400 keep up with the 6700 with photography if so I’ll keep my eye on the fx30 since it is the camera I’m leaning towards more.
I have both the a6400 and a6700. I think that in terms of quality, they are pretty close when it comes to the raw image. You won't be able to really see a difference. The additional AI AF features are nice. But if you already have that for photo and are really itching for the fx30, I just get that. In fact, I''ve been watching this video because I was debating on returning the a6700 and getting the fx30 instead lol.
Marketing crap at the end, scared to say anything real, there are hundreds of so called reviews just like this just talking loud about the specs. which you can read for yourself. No one has an opinion scared they will not get the next Sony camera to review for free.

If I am using the Manual mode (M), then I chose a certain Picture Profile (PP), will the PP be applied to both videos and still photos? Or just to videos when you press record and not to still photos when you press the photo shutter?
That’s up to you. You can choose how you want the camera to behave
That is really good. Because sometimes, I forgot to switch off the PP on my Sony A7R III when making videos and then the photos came out with PP for S-LOG3 applied.

Depends on how fast it’s going. It can be set in camera, or, on auto, it depends how hot the camera is. They aren’t super loud even in max tho
