Heat must be getting to the chief’s aid there. They did a good job all things considered. Given its vacant I have a feeling “somebody” decided to do some “urban renewal” there. Of course you got a good video of it all. Very good video. Stay cool and hydrated out there.

Sounds like you guys might be thinking the same thing that I'm thinking. Look at the building that's next to it. And since that stands out as a smaller older, private dwelling and this has just happened to catch on fire.....You do the math.
I suspected there was a similar thing going on in Coney Island Brooklyn around the year of 2014 when they were building up new buildings that were much larger than many of the current ones on Mermaid Avenue in 2014.
All of a sudden a building that was said to had sustained several fires, got burnt down to a crisp and demolished.
Just was one of many buildings that were being demolished at the time. This one being at the corner of Stillwell avenue and Mermaid avenue right next to the Stillwell Avenue (terminal) train station.
I saw some video footage where someone is talking in the background as the fire was being recorded and they said that they suspect "gas" because of the way it was burning... Meaning arson (not stove gas, because any floor above the first floor did not have any occupants for years)

Balkan lightning. Combine it with the vacant lot next door that used to have a similar dwelling for another multi story apartment building.
