    Got one of these. Slapped a $10 carb. Been going strong for 5ish years. Replaced a wheel too. Took a quick minute. I bought an OEM wheel off amazon for $25. Never buy parts from a stealership or local shop. Wayyyy cheaper online. Great restore video.

      Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed my video. These are great machines! With minimal maintenance they can run for years! I stay away from the "stealerships" as much as possible. Amazon has been a great place to find and buy parts. 👍👍

      @lilredcrvtt Engine seems to hunt a bit while idling. If setting the RPM to 3800 doesn't fix it, I'd open up the main jet up one size.

      @norge696 I used long nose pliers to slightly pinch the governor wire together. This solved the "hunting" of the idle on my machine. I included that "fix" in my restoration video. It's a very simple adjustment and in most cases solves that issue. I didn't need to adjust the idle screws at the carburetor to smooth out the idle on my particular machine. 👍

    Would love to see a demo video of how it runs, throws snow and idles now after the rebuild. Nice work! I'm super impressed. I don't think I would have the patience to put that much tlc into an older unit like that. Kudos to you!

      Thank you! I enjoyed rebuilding that older snow thrower. It has been used many times this winter by one of my kids. It runs great and works as good as new. If we have anymore significant snow, I'll attempt to get some video of it running and clearing the snow. 👍👍

    Nice video. Appreciate your attention to detail. I heard ya, those axle caps are one time use items. I’ve rebuilt a few of the toro CCR2000’s, and have one on these 2450 with all the parts you’ve replaced waiting for me.

      Thank you! That is one of my longer videos. I tried to put as much detail into it to make it helpful for anyone that is also rebuilding one of those snowblowers. They are great machines, and for a little bit of work, can provide years of service. The dealer only parts can get expensive, especially the small stuff. I'm glad you enjoyed my video! 👍👍

    Is this a self propelled model?

    • @lilredcrvtt
      @lilredcrvtt  5 місяців тому

      @marekzamora in a way, it is. You must slightly lift the handle and the back end. Then the rubber paddles will pull the machine forward. It is dependent on how much you lift the handle.

    Do you have links to the parts you replaced ?

    • @lilredcrvtt
      @lilredcrvtt  4 місяці тому

      @@1uniquez no, I don't have the links. You'd have to look up the parts for your individual machine and check for availability. It can vary from model to model.

      @lilredcrvtt ok, I have the same model, did you get everything besides the back metal plate, from Amazon ? I mainly need to replace Carb, bottom Scraper, and rubber propeller fin at the moment. But may just do like you did and replace bearings and wheels also.

      @1uniquez I ordered the metal back plate, rubber blades, and carburetor all off of Amazon. The wheels I bought from a local store, as I did the paint for the metal frame. The bolts and nuts are all stainless steel sourced locally too. I'm sorry but I don't have the links for the Amazon ordered items. I tried to look up my old orders, but I couldn't find them. The metal backing plate took a few weeks to arrive. It was shipped from China. All the parts I ordered worked well. I did have to adjust the governor spring as I mentioned in my video. Hope you have success sourcing the parts. These are very durable machines that you can refurbish inexpensively. 👍
