  • Rachel, one of our Red Leopard Colour and Style Consultants, talks about Winters today and the colour palettes that work with the four Winter subtypes; Jewel Winter, Sultry Winter, Burnished Winter, and Sprinter Winter.
It is remarkable how different colours affect our complexion and how transformative they can be when used correctly. What you put directly around your face will change your skin’s appearance; wearing the wrong colours can make you look like you lack energy and confidence, while the opposite can make you look healthy, capable, credible and younger.
We use our unique system based upon Johannes Itten’s 'principles of colour', established at the Bauhaus in the 1920's, to systematically compare and contrast a range of colours and their effect on your skin.

Please make a new video where you hold each palette together for much longer, like the other analyst did for autumn. Or can someone recommend a different video where someone does so?

Do clear winter share some colors with bright spring. Some colors in different seasons looks so similar.

I look great in all the jewel winter colours except black. I don't know if I'm even a winter if black doesn't suit me.

Burnished winter! After years of being unable to find myself on the colour palette system, this is exactly me. Where can I learn more about this type?

I was classified burnished jewel, does that mean I can wear all the colours from both?

Hi, very interesting, but what does sultry winter stand for? Cool winter, maybe? Thanks

I've never heard of any of these subtypes. I wish there weren't so many different names for the subtype of each season. I don't know if sultry is equivalent to "clear" or "deep" or "soft" or "cool" or "warm" or whatever.

@@milomilo55 Jewel is cool or true winter, Sultry is winter pulling towards Summer (softer, cool), burnished is Winter pulling towards Autumn (dark, and cool/neutral) and Sprinter is Winter pulling to Spring (clearer cool/neutral)

i am a clear deep autumn (dark hair, light yellowish skin and hazel/green eyes) and mostly stick to my leafy palette but in winter when my skin is really bright and looses a lot of my yellows i can pull off the sultry winter pallette. is that normal? now i summer i cant even think about wearing blue, it clashes horribly but in winter it looks amazing with dark brown hair and bright skin. especially the cranberry and that deep violet look stunning on me (also now in summer) why is that if they are considered cool when i am clearly too warm to pull off any blues?

Thank you for the very considered reply, you've obviously put a lot of thought into this! Maybe it is worth droping us an email to talk about having your colours done and get that definitive answer?

Are you yourself a sprinter winter?
