I started with Maqsum1, and that made sense to me. Simple enough with the dominant hand. Then I tried Maqsum 2, and I struggled with the pattern, the way it switched from k t to t k. So I tried the Maqsum 3 and it came right to me at twice the speed. It seems to just make more sense to my brain/hands. Yay, I'm starting to sound like a darbuka player! Thank you for the lessons, Ibraheem.
I have been looking to learn and found myself frustrated with most of the so called Darbuka instruction videos until I found Malik’s videos! Now I have something I can follow and practice. Thank you for providing these very good instruction videos
Never learned Darbuka before. You are amazing indeed, I used my hand when I was really young, did not understand the sounds, but now I understand what I was doing with flicking of my fingers and the palms of my hand like Dum Dum Teck, K T, D, it was the Baladi rythmique. Thank again, you are amazing teacher indeed, now it makes lots of sense. I will try to apply it on the Darbuka
Love Love my Darbuka!! People in Idaho have no idea what it is!!😂😂 Thank You for theses lessons there’s no one that know how to play! My friends Friend is in Egypt right now so I’m practicing alone I was and have been hunting for the tracks and just read a post saying there not there what would be a way to practice for me when I have no music to help?? Thank You!! Shelley
I am very impressed with this drum! "The Gold Entry-Level Darbuka by Gawharet El Fan (World Percussion) - Arabic Darbuka Drum/Doumbek Drum with White Head" I hope to start the classes soon.
I like your videos an I won't purchase a darbuka. I'm from Colombia and need assistance because I see your page and all darbuka said "sold out". Sorry for my english, I hope your help.
Wont your hand get less tired if you go dum to left hand tek instead of dum and right tek then left tek? If so, can you demonstrate how we can practice this technique, would appreciate it.
the explaining and teaching you do is immaculate, this channel should be more known and have much more views

Love this explanation. Where do I find the audio to practice with?

I would love to know where to get a drum head like yours. All the ones I've found have a big ugly company label on them. I also love the green color.
Nice please start again
